What Happened to AirPlay with iOS 8?

AIrPlay icon is missing on on iPad2 after upgrading to iOS 8. I have upgraded AppleTV to latest version and AirPlay works with iPhone 5 running iOS 8. Everything is connected to same Wi-Fi network. Is this a iOS 8 bug or is there some fix/work-around?

I had the same problem but only with my videos/movies (AirPlay button not there's), but got it to work with a work-around. What I did was open youtube (I did it with the PBS iPad app), which AirPlay worked, then hit pause on the program, then went to my videos, and click play and it hijacks the AirPlay and works.
LIsten Apple, this is #rottenApples, so please fix this. You really shouldn't screw with our entertainment.

Anybody else having problems with airplay with ios 5.1 on iphone 4s

So i bought an iphone 4s a few months back and it came with ios 5, i then tryed it with my airplay speakers and they kept cutting out so i googles about it and found there was a known problem with iphone 4s and airplay speakers.
ios 5.0.1 then came out a few weeks later and the problem seemed to be fixed and i was happy as they worked fine after that
ios 5.1 then came out so i updated my 4s to this and started playing music through airplay and they started to cut out again, i turned them off and on and it happened again, then i reset them to my wifi router and the problem still occured
Is anybody else having this problem with airplay on there iphone 4s running ios 5.1?
If so, apple really need to sort this out! I bought my iphone with high expectations and to pay all that money for it not to work is not good

So i'm glade Microsoft has seen the light with windows 10 and brought back the start button, I haven't had time to watch the presentation only the highlights.
The question I have is what happens with Windows Home Server?
Windows 10 is supposedly going to be all thing to all people, but they said that about windows 8; i'm hoping the difference now is that they have learned from there mistakes; home server needs tweaks for sure, and if its part of the free update even better.
I think having a central data store for homes is a necessity especially where the internet isn't unlimited like it is in Africa

Home server 2011 will not change/upgrade to Server 10. It should allow for Win10 client to connect/be backed up though.

What happened to "REWIRE" with GB 10.0.1?

I'm using the latest version of Garageband 10.0.1. Was wondering what happened to the rewire function. I depend on it because I've arrangements that use Live 8lite with rewire.

What happens if 3700 with WSSI module is connected to 802.3af PoE port?

I know that the 3700 itself will drop to 3x4 MIMO if it only gets 15.4W of power (takes 16.8 with 4x4). If I add in a WSSI module, I know that is not enough power to run the WSSI module. We'd like to deploy our APs with the module installed and light up WSSI only as we get 802.3at power available. What I don't know is if the AP will light up as 3x4 with WSSI disabled, or if the AP will just completely fail. I should get a chance to test this soon, but if you happen to know, please tell!

If you have enough power to the AP, you can look at the GUI and under the main screen under Access Point Summary, you will see Dual-Band Radios... the WSSI or WSM will show up there.

HT4623 What's the problem with IOS 7.0.6???

I got an update message last night requesting that I update my operating system to IOS 7.0.6. I proceeded to update my phone. After the phone updated I sent a few text messages and went to sleep. When I woke up this morning my phone was dead. I thought maybe the battery had died, but it's been on a charge for the past 2.5 hours and nothing!!!!! My perfectly working iPhone 5 is now dead!!!!!!!!!!!
Has anyone heard of any problems and why IOS 7.0.6 is killing iPhones?????

My wife and I have 4S's. We both did the 7.0.6 update. My phone is fine but hers is suffering the rapid battery drain problem. It drains in less than 6 hours, and runs warm the whole time. She's tried the hard reset repeatedly, turned off all the background items everyone recommends, been through every suggestion on this board and others. She's narrowed it down to cellular data. As long as that's off, even if using voice phone, battery life is fine. It happens even where she's on wifi so there's no reason for the phone to even be using cell data. And it's not some app running in the background like GPS updating - she's turned them all off, and if she's on wifi but with cell data off, using all kinds of data-hogging apps is fine. Some bug in the 7.0.6 update is causing her phone to run the cellular modem continuously even if no app is accessing data.

What happened to X201 with i7-620M processor and X201s?

Been looking at the X201 with the i7-620M processor and the X201s.
Looking at lenovo's website today, seems like the X201 now only comes with the i5-540M processor and the X201s is no where to be found?
What's going on? Are these discontinued? Out of Stock? Or did Lenovo take them off the website while they revise the specs? I'm hoping they just took them off to upgrade the specs. If they come out with a X2xx with WXGA+(or better) screen and i7-620M processor(or better) I would definitely pick one up.

What happened to Airplay

I have just got the latest iTunes, v11.1.4, up and running again after a long struggle but have found that airplay now doesn't work (it did for a short while) then the icon in iTunes turned orange and now has disappeared. The internal speakers work.
The led on the airport express is green although there is nothing on my computer to show that it is on my network but i can't remember if there ever was.
Can anyone help?

Im sorry i have no idea whats goin on there,i didnt have any issues both new versions for iphone 5 and ipad 3 both working fine,only i have an idea maybe this is the reason ..... at times when is missing airplay...on ur router no matter this is working(show lights)the signal waves are not fully function properly and this cause it.It does to me at times...so what you do now is unplug ur cable plugs both power and internet and just wait for 15 sec and plug this back on,this refresh ur router and let see this pick up ur airplay.

What Happened to QT with version 10?

I just got a new MacPro a week ago and the new version of QT has very diminished capabilities. I used to be able to import an image sequence and save it out as a QT movie, I used to be able to export a single frame, and I used to be able to export with many options as to codec, size, filter, etc. NONE of that is available with QT 10 or am i completely missing something?
Any ideas about this "dumbing down" of QT?
What are you people doing when you need to do these tasks?

Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded.

Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".

What happens if I install IOS 8 on my iPhone and then my Apple developer account expires.

You would have a number of problems although your Phone would still work, bugs and all, until the software was released in the fall and you couldn't switch over in the developers site.
Either renew your developer account or stay away from the beta.

HT4623 what happens if you download iOS 7.1 and choose later for install?

I have an iPhone 4S and downloaded the iOS 7.1 software update, but chose "LATER" not install after the download finished. See step 4. below.
I turned my phone off last night and when I turned it on this morning got a message that iOS 7.1 will begin installing in six seconds. This is the same message I had after download, when I chose "LATER". I'm not sure if I want to download and upgrade the iOS yet, as due to trael can't have my phone experience issues ion the next week.
Does anyone know if the download will try to install every time the phone restarts?

You can go to the App Store and download the free YouTube app. The original app that was part of iOS has been removed.

but when I try to visit it I just get a message saying - The specified thread [2136135] was not found. forumID=964 IS the 'cryptography' forum but when I visit the 'cryptography' forum there is no trace of that thread.
The text of the email indicates that it is probably in the correct forum so I don't think it will have been moved by a moderator to another forum. I can't see it having been deleted by one of the moderators.
Is this just another bit of crapp exhibited by this forum software ?
