What Happened to Certain Albums?!!

Why can't you buy Coldplay's Parachutes in the U.S. store anymore? I bought it while ago in the Itunes store and now I've lost it and I really want it again. Apparently you can get it in the U.K. store....also how come you can't buy the beatles or john lennon?

I can't answer about Coldplay. The surviving Beatles, Yoko Ono, & the estate of George Harrison have never licensed any download site to distribute Beatles or Lennon music on-line. Part of this was due to continuing litigation between Apple (Beatles), & Apple, Inc. (computers). Now that the legal issues have been resolved, there have been stories in the media that Beatles music may become available on-line. No official announcements have been made, so no one really knows for sure.

What happened to my album covers?

I synced my iPod with my iTunes on my laptop earlier today. I came back to find that some but not all of my album covers are missing. I would like to know what happened to them!!

If still problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

If different albums have the same song and I delete the duplicates what happen with the albums that should have that song, does it refrence back to the the song that was not deleted.

Indeed, a song can only appear in one album.
To check your library for duplicates use Shift > View > Show Exact Duplicates as this is normally a more useful selection. Keep holding down shift until you have clicked on the text Show Exact Duplicates or it may still use the loser definition.
If you find that you have true duplicates you need to manually select all but one of each group to remove, or use my DeDuper script if you don't want to do it by hand. The script attempts to take account of different types of duplicates which need to be handled differently, merges playcounts and preserves playlist membership. Please take note of the warning to backup your library before deduping. See this thread for background.

ZEN VISION:M What happened to the Album art???/What do you use to transf

I've had my zen vision m since last summer and absolutely love it. Recently though I reformatted and added my entire library with the zen vision m media explorer like I always do. I have always tagged my music with musicmatch jukebox so that the album art shows up on my zen. This time however there is no album art. What's going on, is it the new firmware?
How do the rest of you add your tracks? There's at least fi've different ways I've discovered to do it, but in the past the media explorer was always the best.

What happened to photo albums?

I have two sites that have photo albums.
I can play around with it no problem in iWeb, but when I publish and go to the site, the photo albums are gone.
I had these sites working just fine until the change over to Mobile me. Then the albums disappeared.
Nothing I do seems to help any.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what can be done?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you applied all the latest updates? Also try doing a *Publish All to MobileMe* and see if that won't jump start the album pages. And of course the usual clear your browser's cache routine.

What happened to viewing album covers in the new iTunes?

It seems to have disappeared, not under View or any other menu item. I liked having a large image of an album cover, rather than the new microscopic version. Has it gone for good? If so, how can I revert to old iTunes?

This is going out to APPL! I'm a coder, been one for 30+ years! Put back the display album art! It can't be that hard! I know you dudes can do a classic view or something like that.

Can you be more specific? Album artwork is still available in iTunes 12, though the UI operations to do so have changed a little. As shown below:
Click on the Playlists button
Select a Playlist (or the complete library)
Select Albums from the dropdown at the top right of the screen
Are you seeing something different? iTunes 12 has also changed how you set/update/delete artwork for albums, groups of songs or individual songs - there are several threads covering this in detail ... since the iTunes 12 behavior seems to be a distinct backward step in terms of usability, there is at least the option to SHIFT-right-click > Get Info to bring up the old-style dialog where the previous functionality for handling artwork is available as it was in earlier releases.
BTW, you are not reaching Apple here - this is a forum for iTunes users. If you have specific bug reports or enhancement requests you can submit them to Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html.

What happened to Thee Oh Sees albums?!?

I have been thoroughly enjoying Thee Oh Sees Floating Coffin album due to the highly enjoyable Toe Cutter song. I was about to play it this morning and to my great disappointment I see that the album is no longer available along with their other albums Drop and Mutilator Defeated At Last. What happened?? And Spotify please bring these albums back ASAP!!! Thee Oh Sees is currently my favorite band and this is no time to not be able to hear their latest 3 albums! Thank you.

The reason is that the artist or their music label has likely decided to remove it from Spotify.
The availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.
Spotify wants all the world's music, and they're working hard on making this happen for you. However sometimes agreements can't be reached with the artist or label or a change may happen in music ownership. Sometimes the music is only available in certain countries, while access is blocked to others. Sometimes the album or song will be unavailable temporary, and come back again later.
Spotify adds thousands of albums and artists are added every day. If you can't find an artist you're looking for, they may appear (or reappear if removed) soon. In the meantime, feel free to contact the artist or their label to ask when they plan to be on Spotify.

Very strange behavior. Don't entirely give up on the "Manually Added Items" category ... I have seen things magically appear there even after I've checked and seen nothing there. I think things got real quirky when Apple released iCloud ... I don't remember extra copies of purchases lingering on my iPhone once transferred to my library before that. Sure, if I bought an album directly to my iPhone it would stay on there even after I sync to my library, but if I deleted the album from the iPhone it stayed deleted. Now it seems that there are some phantom copies that come and go with no explanation.

If you're re-downloading an album to iTunes and your iPhone, that may perpetuate the problem. What happens if you completely delete every copy of the album, then just download to your iTunes library and then sync the album to your iPhone from your library? A few other things to try:

Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

I put all my photos into album .Then proceeded to erace photos from last 18 months.. Went back to albums, and no pictures in most of the albums.. What happened? Don't know what to do. How can I get pictures back in my albums?

Deleted them from where? The photos in your albums are not the actual photos in your library. So if you deleted the photos from the Photos section of iPhoto, then you have deleted them period. All of the photos in your Albums are just "pointing" to the original photos. Albums are just a way of organizing your photos, but they are not copies of them.
Did you delete them from the Photos in iPhoto?

Photos from iPhone 4 to ipad3 albums gone. What happened?I

Took a long trip and used iphone4 to take photos. When iCloud transferred them to my iPad2 I put them in albums. Now that I am home some of the albums are now empty? What happened? I did get a new ipad3 and most of the photos seem to have transferred but some are out of sequence and again the albums are labeled but have no photos.

Did you take some of those photos more than 30 days ago?
How long are photos stored in iCloud?
The photos you upload to Photo Stream are stored in iCloud for 30 days to give your devices plenty of time to connect and download them

It sounds like restrictions may be enabled preventing in app purchases.
You can enable and adjust Restrictions, or Parental Controls, on your device to prevent access to specific features or content on the device. Locate these settings by tapping Settings > General > Restrictions.
You can choose to prevent access to specific content types:
Ratings (select the country in the ratings section to automatically apply the appropriate content ratings for that region)
Music and podcasts
Movies
TV shows
Books3
Apps
In-app purchases
You can also adjust the time necessary before a password is required to purchase content.

Yup, kind of like anything else you accidentally break that is more cost effective to replace than to repair. Keep that iPad away from the toddler
