What happened to Email Link in Firefox 29?

Where did "Email Link" go in Firefox 29? I used to be in the Firefox menu and I used it all the time. Now I can't find it. It's not anywhere in the new menu, atleast not that I can find. Where did this option go?

"Email Link" is available as a button in the customization palette. Right-click an empty area of the tab bar and choose Customize. You should find the button in the box on the left side. It can be placed on a toolbar, or in the ≡ Menu Button panel.

  • Why, when I click on an email link in Firefox 4, GMail hijacks my browser instead of opening Thunderbird??

Suddenly, anytime I click on an email link in Firefox 4, Gmail opens a popup window. This does not happen if I click an email link in IE 8.0 or Google Chrome. In Tools > Options > Applications, Thunderbird is set as my default in Firefox 4. If I go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options, Thunderbird is the default email client as well. Clearing cookies and settings did not resolve this problem. What is going on?

I have the same problem, and I also wondered if Google toolbar has anything to do with it. There GMAIL was set as the default mail application at first. I have removed that setting, but Firefox 4.0.1 continues to use GMAIL instead of Outlook which is my selection for mailto handling.

  • When I click on an email link in Firefox, I get a message in the far left corner of my screen that says "mail to:email address". Outlook doesn't open up like it does in Internet Explorer. I've set Outlook as my default email in Windows 7.

    Hey.
I think it might be the problem with one of your plugins.
Try to uninstall the webbrowser AND remove the storage from Firefox in your user-account (Linux: /home/username/.mozilla). You can check the list of installed Add-Ons in Firefox under "Extras => Add-ons" or by pressing Shift + Strg + A (Linux).

  • When I click email links on firefox, it won't open my AOL email client to continue, I get "The file may not be supported by AOL, AOL will try to open it as a text file if you choose to continue" how to fix?

When I click email links on firefox, it opens AOL, but comes up like this.. "The file may not be supported by AOL, AOL will try to open it as a text file if you choose to continue" how to fix? and yeah, I know, ditch AOL and all that good stuff, but I have so many things tied into my email address that it's not in the cards atm..
    Thanks!
    *Chris

That file might have moved to a different location on the server. I think you'll need to check with RefWorks support or your local IT department on why the install page links do not work.

  • Where is the email link in Firefox ?

A person helped me change my browser from Internet Explorer 7 to FireFox. Now I cannot find the email link on FireFox. I right click in the upper toolbar & hit customize. Their is no email. When I hit customize, the icons shrink & I can see more icons on the upper toolbar. When I cancel out of customize, I can only see 2 of the icons & I cannot bring up any others. Does Firefox not use email or does it have to be G mail, ect. ? My email is [email protected]

You can find "Email Link" in the Firefox menu and in the File menu if the menu bar is visible.

  • When I use "Email link" in Firefox, the Outlook message default formatting changes (font, font size, paragraph spacing) - how can I stop this from happening?

In Outlook, my default message format includes the following:
    Font: Arial 10pt font
    Spacing: Before: 0pt, After: 0pt
When I email a link from Firefox, a new message opens, which has the following formatting:
If I type anything before the URL, the formatting is:
    Font: Arial 10pt font
    Spacing: Before: 0pt, After: 0pt
If I type anything after the URL, the formatting is:
Font: Times New Roman 12pt font
    Spacing: Before: Auto, After: Auto
This doesn't happen with Internet Explorer - when emailing a link, my default message format is retained.
Since I email a lot of links for my job, and I prefer to use Firefox, this is a pretty annoying issue!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michelle
    Outlook 2007
    Firefox 36.0.4

From Firefox, I click on "File' and then 'Email link'.
This results in a new Outlook message opening automatically, with the URL copied into the body of the message.
I then add my own text, see the screenshot image. That's where the formatting problems come in!
    Cheers,
    Michelle

  • Email links in Firefox 5.0 will not auto open my Outlook program. Firefox is set as my default browser

I am currently using Mozilla/5.0 Firefox/3.6.12. After having upgraded to this version I find that email links to my Outlook client will not automatically open a new email page pre-populated with the recipient's address. All other links on the page have worked correctly.

    Many thanks jscher2000, problem solved.

    Windows 7 Pro.
    Outlook 2010
    Windows Live Mail 2011
In the article, only plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types was present. After resetting then closing Firefox, normal service was resumed.

  • What happens to emails sent to my organisation if my exchange 2013 server is off

Hello just new to exchange server.
something i want to know is if my exchange server is not reachable or off, what happens to the emails people send to our organisation? do they just get lost or do they get bounced back to the sender?
    Many Thanks

  • What happened to my reliable old Firefox?

I woke up this morning to find that I cannot get into Firefox. There are many suggestions as to how I can do things, but those "things" do not happen. I finally was able to register (never had to do that before) and now have the opportunity to ask my question.
I am not the least bit pleased with what has happened. You offer many things I am not interested in and make it impossible for me to use the "old" version that suited me very well. I am not a Luddite, I teach folks how to use their computers and I suppose I should be grateful that you have mucked things up so much that I will be getting all sorts frantic calls.
The least you could do is Ask politely before dropping this bomb.
Tried installing the trouble shooting info and the author was not verified so I cancelled it.

hello sugar1928, is this a quest for support? if so, then please explain in more detail what exactly is happening ("I cannot get into Firefox" is pretty vague, as there are no general issues or new updates since this morning) - are there any error messages or other symptoms of what is wrong...
in addition could you go to ''firefox > help > troubleshooting information'', copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...

  • When I use "Email Link" with Firefox, the "send" button in Thunderbird is grayed out.

    OS X 10.9.4
The option of manually copying the link and pasting would work, but I've always been able to use "Email Link" from the "File" menu until the last few days.
Restarting the computer did not help.

Do you have an address in the address field? The send button stays greyed out until there is something in the address field.

  • What happened? After this morning Firefox's update, I couldn't get into Firefox but got this message, "The application failed to start because it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

This morning I went to go into Firefox, a message came up stating it was updating. After the update, Firefox didn't open, so I clicked on the icon and got this message. C:\Program Files (x86) Mozilla Fire\firefox.exe. The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. I tried removing & re-installing and I even try the Window's restoration point of a couple days back and I still get the message. Has anyone had or have this problem?

You can click the link in my above post if you haven't done that yet.

That SxS error seems to be caused by a corrupted Visual C installation that requires some DLL files to be reinstalled.

  • What happened to "Mail Link to This Page" in Safari 6.0 in Mountain Lion?

I just loaded Mountain Lion onto my MacBook Pro. When I went to use Safari (6.0), I noticed that I can no longer find "Mail Link to This Page" under File. How do i mail a link now?

Thanks for that, as I hadn't noticed the dropdown in the composition window. However, it also requires you to change the format of the message to Rich Text in order for the page to transmit properly. I'm a journalist, and I use plain text for all my messages (newspapers prefer this), so now I have to select File>Share>Email This Page, then choose Send Web Content As Web Page, then change Message Format to Rich Text, before I get the result I need.
In the previous OS I just chose "Send Contents of Web Page" or whatever the instruction was, and it was done.
I'm beginning to understand the true difference between the phrases "unnecessarily complicated" and "simply elegant".
    I appreciate your help, nevertheless.
