What happened to Export naming options?

What happened to the Export options?
I had a preset that renamed my images in the format desired by my newspaper. Now, all I see is the ability to adjust the size, and the gamma (?)?
Perhaps the options moved? I know! They moved the options over with the colored icons? Along with the missing socks from the dryer!
And seriously. Aperture could export and name my pix like this:

No mas?

OK. Me = silly.
You see, folks, the feature I wanted shows up when you export (Original or Version),an then chose to edit the name format…

It's not a problem, indeed it's helpful, I'm aware it looks as though I'm here to argue, I just don't want others to get wrong information, it helps when others give their opinion.
The bathroom TV, is a TV manufactured for a bathroom, it's a sealed unit, it meets all regulations and sits in the wall where it can be easily viewed while soaking in the tub. The Apple TV is also in the wall and is controlled by our phones, it's connected to an amplifier which is situated in the garage which in turn is connected to waterproof speakers in the bathroom ceiling. I did it all myself and am quite pleased with it.

Right click on the file and choose Get Info, go to the Options tab, there's a menu there "Media Kind"

What happened to Qualcomm PureVoice options?

What happened to Qualcomm PureVoice options in QuickTime? QuickTime now no longer allows any rate settings other than "Recommended" and 8.000 kHz, and only bit rates of 7000 or 13000 bps. The resulting quality is terrible.
There used to be more options, you could select rates from 8 to 64 kHz.

It seems to be a very outdated codec, going right back to System 7!

I used to be able to type a song title in there and an artist and it would show me my options. Now I have no Search option under Store.
Even when you go to the store, there is no way to search for a song.

Hit the '''Alt''' key ''(Cmd for Mac)'' to show the Menu bar, then open View > Toolbars and select Menu bar, so it has a check-mark.

There used to be an option under "View" that allowed you to view duplicate songs in your iTunes library. What happened to it...?

It's under File menu.
Also, if you hold alt and select File menu, it turns into *Show exact duplicates*.

What happened to the outline option in Pages?

Upgraded to latest Pages. Totally differnt in how things work. I have several files created with 'outlines' Now they are simply word processor docs. What happened? I liked the outline option.

If you read posts in this forum you will find that over 100 features are stripped from Pages 5 compared to Pages 09. Use Pages 09 instead. You should have it in applications/iWork 09 folder.

IPhoto 7.0.1: what happened to EXPORT?

I read through the first near-100 posts on this forum, hoping to find some answers.. I discovered the thread(s) on disabling the third party extensions for the Export function, and at least the menu comes up now - but what I want to know is WHERE DID THE FUNCTIONS WITHIN EXPORT DISAPPEAR TO?
I used to be able to, with just 2 clicks, export a number of photos of a set size and resolution, to a set folder, and drop that into my Adobe CS3 Bridge and start using it right away. This new version of the program, however, has NO SETTINGS for the resolution, and the user now has to jump through FOUR STEPS in order to make the image of a certain set of dimensions:
1. select "KIND" and choose JPEG
2. select "JPEG Quality" - where you're restricted to WORDS instead of resolution
3. select "SIZE" and be forced to choose "CUSTOM"
4. toggle between pull-downs for Width, Height, and "DIMENSION" which is totally useless
Can you [at APPLE] please have someone change the menu options back to a standard set of options that keep in line with the REST OF THE WORLD and the rest of the graphic programs on the market - and just make the menu read simply with the 3 most important values for a proper export:
1. width (in whatever units you want, as long as one of the options is PIXELS)
2. height (in whatever units you want, as long as one of the options is PIXELS)
3. resolution (in whatever units you want, as long as one of the options is DPI)
....I don't think that's asking for too much....

I have a similar problem. On my version of iPhoto 7.01, the export function does precisely nothing when chosen. I used to be able to export to facebook and picasaweb, but now when I select File>Export, exactly nothing happens; it's as if I had done nothing at all. No new window pops up or anything, it's just as if I had done nothing. Needless to say it's pretty annoying since the only reason I use the sotfware is to publish out pictures -- and since my entire photo library is now in iPhoto it means that none of my photos can be published to any site. I tried to see if I could publish to the Apple web galleries but no luck there either.
Everything worked fine before this "upgrade" and now my library is useless. What a major drag. How can Apple release such BROKEN SOFTWARE?

What happened to Tools Reports option in RoboHelp 10?

I use the Tools>> Reports option alot and just used it a few weeks ago. Now as of Friday, I am unable to see them in the menu. Does anyone have any idea as to what has happened to them? In fact, I can not find those reports at all in RH. Am I just looking in the wrong place?
I welcome any assistance I can get to try to resolve this. Thank you in advance!

Tools > Reports is the right route.
Try right clicking the menu area and selecting Customise, then select Menu Bar and Reset. You could lose changes you have made but hopefully this will restore what is missing.
I don't think I have seen this happen before.

Export naming options by collection sequence number

My apologies if this was already discussed elsewhere but couldn't find an answer...
Here is the situation. I have many photos with names generated on import. They have sequence numbers based on the shooting. But sometimes I want to create a photo essay, composed of various images from different shoots. The way I proceed is I create a collection for my essay and add photos to it. I then order the files in the collection to reflect the order of the series. Then I want to export with a different file names. The name has to match the recepient's file format and is rarely related to my original file. In all cases, I want to add a sequence number at the end of the file that reflects the position of the image in the essay or series. Ex: PhotoEssay01.jpg, PhotoEssay02.jpg and so on. I then create an export preset but there is something lacking in the custom names options. I use the sequence number which is fine when I want to use the whole series. But when I want to re-export a file, say at position 4, the export starts back at 1 (PhotoEssay01.jpg) as there is only one image in this export batch.
I am trying to find a way to have the collection sequence number (not a term that exists), basically the position of the image relative to the collection I am working on. I have tried image # and total # without succes and the documentation is pretty unclear on the difference between the three numbering systems. I think it makes sense on import but I fail to see how to do that on export. I understand the export module does not care about how my grid was configured in the library view and cannot tell what is this image relative to the collection I am working on...
Has anyone encoutered that issue (must have) and how to workaround it?
I can change the sequence starting number in the export panel but it's annoying to have to go back to the panel each time just for that. Also, I wouldn't mind changing it in the export overwrite warning dialog if the Use unique Name allowed me to put a custom name. Now it just add -XX to the end of the file name...
I thought using a IPTC field that is available in the custom name dialog and add the number there for each image but it is kind of a hack...
Any ideas?

What happened to file saving options in Lion?!

I recently upgraded my Mac to OS X Lion and Photoshop CS5 seems to be working normally, albeit a little sluggishly, since the upgrade. However, when I create a new Photoshop file, create some layers, then "Save As", all my normal format options are missing. The only choices I am offered are Large Document Format, Photoshop RAW and TIFF.
If I open a JPG or PSD file, there's no problem. The "Save As" command gives me a normal file saving window with the normal format options. But a new file transforms itself into something totally alien! What's going on here?

I think you're right. I was creating some banner text and did stretch the document borders out to quite a large size for convenience. I have since moved half the text to a second document and my PSD doesn't turn into a pumpkin when I open the "Save As" window.

What does the "Export Mail" option in Mail app backup? Attachments?

Does it back up everything including attachments? What about the sent messages, draft, etc?

You can export each mailbox(folder) to another location like external drive. It will export everything. Later you can import them back if you like.
