What happened to "join tracks"??

After the last ungrade for OSX there is no longer a join tracks when down loading audio books? It was there, I installed the upgrade and now its gone.
It was under "Options" when reading a CD.

What happened to Join CD Tracks in Advanced Menu?

Im desperately seeking a solution to my issue. I have several continuous mixes in my library. some of which are tracked out. yet if i simply import onto my ipod, there is an automatic space put between each track. which is dreadfull when listening to a continuous mix. however before i updated to the latest version of itunes (6.1. something or other) i was able to fix it myself. before i would select all the tracks by pressing apple A...then id go to the advanced menu...and then to Join CD Tracks... Which would conjoin it all together. Then i would drag that playlist to another playlist where it would appear as one track...Problem solved. but with the lastest version, they took away that feature. Why!!!!! Im hurtin! If i could uninstall the latest version and go back to the old one that would work too. somebody help me!!!

The function is still there (as it was in 4.9, 5.0, 5.0.1 etc.)
If it is really missing (not dimmed, but missing) from the Advanced menu, then there is obviously something wrong with your iTunes.
Re-installing should fix it.

What happened to JOIN SMOOTH? (It's gone?!?)

Title says it all.
I've searched around for where it went. I used to use it ALL the time. This elimination of this long-standing feature is just SLOWING ME DOWN. :-(
What's the work-around, without having to go select another tool and try to match the previous position of the control points after joining as a CORNER?

What happened? My tracks aren't being accessed correctly

Hi, I'm using DVDSP4
I have a project with 2 tracks. The tracks are composed of many sequences, perhaps 30 for each track. I exported the sequences from Final Cut Express.
The menus in DVDSP access each of the sequences.
Track 1 works perfectly.
Track 2 is a very different story. Audio + video are not synced: Audio from one sequence plays over video from another. The menu is not sending the "playhead" to the right spot... not of the menu choics for track 2 work correctly.
I have no idea how to approach this problem.
It doesn;t matter if I play the disk on my mac, or an external dvd player.
The same thing happens if I play from the disk image of the disk I made on the hard drive. So I don't think it's a write issue. Can anyone help? THANKS!

Have you built this project to disc and then added or changed the assets at any time? It sounds to me as if you've got a corrupted build folder if you are certain the second track is created accurately and that your menus point to the correct tracks.
Have you tried adding the track 2 assets into track 1 and using stories to separate the different sets of assets?

What happened to my tracking control?

just upgraded to CS4...
have the tracking and baseline shift controls been eliminated from the top control bar?
i know you can get at them in the charater menu, but is there any way to get them back in the top? i used that CONSTANTLY and now its gone for no apparent reason. there's plenty of empty space up there, i don't understand why those controls are missing.

A good reason to back up preferences, I'm thinking. The recent update of Indesign to ID 6.0.5 removed the customisations I'd made to the tool bars, which really confused me for a while.
(A slightly botched update, methinks. It's also removed ID's ability to remember its last window size and positioning - it always goes back to the Mac default now (not quite full size, not quite docked), even though I'm using Windows. A small thing, but annoying.)

Message Tracking - Determing what happens to specific email

Good afternoon all! I have a situation with a client Exchange 2010 server. They have a front end/back end exchange setup. They are running this on Server 2008 R2. Mail is setup and working great. They have ONE specific email
they receive on a nightly basis. This email makes it through the front end spam solution, then passes the receive connector. In the message tracking logs I see the message is received. It is sent to a distribution group. Other email
that is sent to the distribution group will have a corresponding expand and deliver logs. This particular email does not have anything further than receive. No other logs to identify why it is not being delivered or dropped or anything. I

There are no further logs on this message. For those that will read the delivery status notification. This message is a bounce back message that they are not receiving. I did change the Default Properties on the remote domains, so that
Allow external out-of-office messages and legacy out-of-office messages is selected as well as under message format: Allow Auto replies, Allow Auto Forward, Allow Delivery Reports, Allow Non-Delivery Reports are also all selected.
I am lost on where to figure out what happens to this email after the receive connector gets it. Messages normally have other messages that show additional information; however this message just dies there.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. I actually started with searches for anything going to that distribution group. I used the GUI version, then went to the shell. Neither was able to produce anything beyond receive. I thought maybe the group was
not setup properly to get emails from the outside, but after testing from my email address directly to the group, I see normal behavior it expands then delivers to the store. With these particular emails, they only ever have the event of receive nothing
further. Any ideas where to look when that happens?

What happened to command to get track names

I'm using iTunes 11.01 on OS 10.6.8 having just recently downloaded the updated iTunes. What happened to the advanced menu and the command to get track names and infor? I ripped some CD's while I was offline, and now I cana't figure out how to access the Gracenote Database to get the track names. This is a serious omission in the new version.

It is still there. Right mouse click on a song or group of songs and select Get Track names

I made a project with multiple tracks and had it all panned and mixed. Now it's only playing in the right speaker. Not even regestering a left side in the master volume? What happened, how can I get both sides back?

For video, the codec is MPEG-4 Video (XVID) and for audio it says MPEG Audio Layer 1/2/3 (mpga).
There are two issues with that file:
The first is the Xvid CODEC (not meant for editing), and then the MPEG Audio/MPGA. I would convert that file, to something that is more editable.

What happens when I join Creative Cloud years from now?

Our company has CS6 now and don't feel it's in the books to join Creative Cloud at this point. What happens when we have to join 1 year to 1.5" down the road? Will we have to pay a penalty fee or do we just join at the $69.99/seat team price?

MAS ART, There is not penalty fees for not joining Creative Cloud subscription. You are free to join it later. Its just that the membership plans may be different then.

If I have vlans on switches named differently and they join the same VTP domain what happens?

I have a switch that has vlan 10 as accounting and the other switch has it Accounting. What happens when they join the same domain? Do they keep their respective names?

What are the VTP mode of both switches?
If they are both Server then the one with the HIGHEST revision number will copy the VTP database TO the other unit.

Unable to join tracks

When importing CD's of spoken word/performances the cd is broken into tracks as if they were songs on an album. To correct that I used select "join tracks" and I was then able to import the cd as a single track. All of a sudden that option is gone!!!!! I am using iTunes 11. Anybody know what happened? How to get it back? Is Apple continuing its march off the same cliff Microsoft went over in its own pursuit of stock price and market share; customers be damned?

You cannot highlight a column - if you click on a column, it sorts by that column. Also, the column to the left of the name is a tick-box column, which cannot be sorted or highlighted.

What happens on iCloud when multiple family members use the same Apple ID? For example if we all choose to use iCloud for contacts, are they all merged together? We use the same Apple ID so we can use find my iPhone to keep track of the whole family.

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.

Does the replicat abend or does it pick from where it left off by reading the trail file.

Oracle GoldenGatge keeps track of the details of the transactions that are replicated by two methods.
1. Firstly and always GoldenGate writes to a checkpoint file which resides in the DIRCHK directory.If this Checkpoint File is lost or removed then GoldenGate loses track of your process.
2. Optionally, you can create a CHECKPOINTTABLE during the creation of the Replicat Process. This Checkpoint table can be specified Globally in the ./GLOBALS parameter or separate checkpoint tables can be created for each processes.
But Oracle highly recommends to create the Checkpoint table.
When replicat starts, it will compare the checkpoint file with the checkpoint table. This has been brought because, in the event of failure, the checkpoint file and checkpoint table are referred or read by these processes and it gets started from the point of failure avoiding the re-capture and re-apply of the transactions.
An another useful thing in using the Checkpoint table is, If you stop the Replicat process and flashback the target database and then start the replicat process again, you do not have to change or modify anything at the GoldenGate level. The Replicat process will just pick up as if you also flashed back the GoldenGate inspite of having all the trail files. This is because your Checkpoint Table will also get flashed back and the replicat process reads the checkpointtable and works accordingly.
