Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the iTunes folder from any real-time scanning process.

  • I got the latest update but...What happened to my bookmarks?

I got the latest update... But what happened to my bookmarks?

    Try a reset:
    1. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds
    2. Until you see the Apple logo (very important)

  • I'm using the great Firefox 5.o. What happened to the "Bookmark All Tabs" feature that used to be found under Bookmarks? I love Mozilla Firefox!!!! :-)

I've looked under the Bookmarks heading as well as History. What happened to the extremely useful "Bookmark All Tabs". Loved that feature of Firefox. Thank you!!!!!!

Right-click '''on''' a Tab to see that menu item or use {Ctrl + Shft + D}.
In conjunction with the new Firefox button in Firefox 4.0 and with the addition of some new features that added a number of new menu items, many of the older menu items were moved around or only appear under certain conditions. It can be a bit confusing until you get used to the changes, but beyond adding new menu items in the future for new features, I don't think there will be major changes like that for awhile.

  • Moved to a new computer running windows 7. what happened to the bookmark sidebar? how do I get it back? How do I move my bookmarks from old computer to new computer?

new computer, loaded Firefox 4. What happened to bookmark sidebar? How do I get it back? How do I move my bookmarks from old computer to new computer?
old computer is offline, so if I have to make a copy of something hopefully it can be done offline.
Don't really understand why windows 7 renders Firefox so different that XP. Will change, but really like the old feel.

  • What happened to my bookmarks, i cant bookmark or find my previous bookmarks (i had a lot and they were important)! How do i get them back, because I've tried all the things you suggest, but its NO HELP!

Earlier today, I was bookmarking things and everything was working perfectly fine. I got back on firefox later, and i noticed all my bookmarks were gone. I tried bookmarking other pages and it didnt work! I WANT MY BOOKMARKS BACK AND I WANT TO BE ABLE TO BOOKMARK AGAIN! Your "helping" pages are no freaking help!!

    What have you tried?

  • What happened to the "bookmark this group of tabs" function?

Firefox 6.0 doesn't have a "bookmark this group of tabs" function on the bookmarks menu. What happened to it? Can it still be done? How? This is progress???

Thanks. Is it me, or is this completely counterintuitive? I expect the tab context menu to have stuff that applies to a particular tab, and the Bookmarks menu to contain functions concerned with bookmarks globally.

  • Firefox/Google was updated w/o my approval, what happened to my bookmarks?

When I loaded Firefox/Google I believe it was updated w/o my approval and now my bookmarks are gone. Then I was given an option to pay a third party to fix a problem that Firefox created. I want my previous version of Firefox back. Why can't I have a phone number to call??????

hello, please understand that like most vendors of free software mozilla does not provide support via telephone, so continue here in the forum where we will try to solve your issue.
as you have malicious addons present, please perform all these steps:
    # [[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems|reset firefox]] (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    # afterwards go to firefox > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    # finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] and [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner] to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.

  • What happens to messages after its gone from the queue?

    Hi all,
just wondering if anyone knows what happens after a Message leaves Message Queue?
    Our scenario is this:
Hybrid configuration With Exchange online and Exchange 2013 server. All MX records Points to Our on prem server, but Messages sends directly from Exchange online.
We had one user where remoutrouting address was incorrect, but it is now correct and external mailflow is working again.Seems like old Messages are not delivered, only New ones.
Wondering if its possible to resend those Messages from the Queue or logs?
    thanks!
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you. Thank you! Off2work

    Hi ,
If you run the command Get-TransportPipeline | ft -au , we can able to know what will happen to the messages when it enters it to the transport pipeline.
Note : Above command output will give you a similar and in-depth back end view of telnet session that happens during the message transport.
if we don't have the proper route for any of the destination domain then those messages will get queued in exchange till the message expiration time , whereas messages to the domains which has proper route defined in exchange send connector will reach the
destination domain. In case if the message expiration time is crossed for an particular message then the exchange server will drops the message and send an NDR to the sender mailbox.
In your case ,In you have any of those messages on the queues we can able to deliver those messages to the destination recipient. In case if the sender has received the NDR due to incorrect recipient address then the final chance would be re sending that
message again to the recipient from sender's mailbox.
    Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham

  • What happened to totem-xine? Gone from the repos.

I have totem-xine installed on my system, but with the lastest upgrades I get a notice that asks me to update it to regular totem, before any other packages are upgraded.
    :: Starting full system upgrade...
    :: Replace totem-xine with extra/totem? [Y/n]
When I look at the package lists in the repos, totem-xine appears to have completely disappeared.
Has totem-xine been abandoned for some reason? If I say no to pacman when it wants to upgrade totem, will totem-xine still work okay, or will it now/eventually conflict with other packages and upgrades to Gnome?

DevoidOfWindows wrote:Create a PKGBUlLD for it.
Yeah, I think the point is there may not be any source code anymore to create a package from.
@JGC, thanks again for the help. These things are all a little opaque to me. But so is the end result of what you're saying that there is in fact no way to use xine anymore with Totem (starting in 2.27)--in any distribution for that matter--unless I wrote the code myself (which unfortunately I have no idea how to do)? That is, if I wanted to do it myself, what would it take? Or is it basically not feasible? Thanks again.

  • HT5824 What happened to my bookmarks? They're ALL GONE. From every computer...

Set my bookmarks to be saved on the cloud. They appeared on all of my PC's until one of them underwent updates. Now ALL bookmarks from my Favorites bar are gone from ALL computers. What gives? Even tried to system restore back before the updates - no dice.

    What have you tried?

  • What happened to 'edit bookmarks'? It's gone. I hate that.

I'm curious about where the 'edit bookmark' tab went? There's no apparent way to change, reorganise or delete bookmarks

In Firefox 4, it's now called "Show All Bookmarks" which has all the same functions as "Organize Bookmarks".

  • What happened to my Bookmarks Toolbar?

I just updated Firefox to version 15.0 on the Mac. Suddenly, all of my bookmark folders that are supposed to be in my Bookmarks Toolbar are no longer there, and the Toolbar won't let me put them back there. This is substantially non-optimal. I must say, I'm becoming less and less of a fan of Firefox with every passing update, which saddens me.

    To cor-el:
Thank you, cor-el!! You really listened to the question and gave an answer that really worked ... without having to reset all the other Firefox setup.
The only problem I (and the original poster) had was that the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" icon in the Customize dialog was no longer labeled as such, so it was not obvious what icon was needed to drag back to the Bookmarks Toolbar area. But there were a couple of icons labeled "bookmarks," so I just experimented and tried dragging them -- and one of them turned into the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" icon as soon as it was dragged to the correct area.
So it solved my problem instantly and I thank you very much, because I use that toolbar more than any other!!

  • What happened to the "bookmark this page" link on the right-click menu?

I used to right-click most anywhere on a webpage and the option to choose any bkmrk folder, or create a new subfolder. There was no message stating "page bookmarked"; I would select where I wanted to file the bkmrk and the bkmrk would be there. Simple concept. worked well. Was efficient bcs you never had to reorient to any other part of the screen, or at least not the periphery. R-click --> "bookmark this page" menu appears as if it were a context menu. I just downloaded and installed FF 32.0.2. The
r-click feature I speak of disappeared with the upgrade just before this one.

Thanks. I think I clicked on that somewhere in the proceedings, but maybe not. i agree with several other posters, though; a lot of changes generally do not seem necessary or to significantly improve anything. However I am a psychologist, not an IT pro and maybe I just don't understand.
What was wrong with it the way it was, I wonder....
Thanks again. I won't lose any sleep over it.

  • After updating to firefox 5 all my bookmarks are lost, and I can not find an old places.sqlite file. What happened to my bookmarks?

I updated from Firefox 3 to Firefox 5 (Windows XP), and all my bookmarks are lost. Maybe I should have thought of making a backup but I did not think of this and previously after an update I could find them again. Now I can not find my bookmarks anywhere, all files in my profile have a date and time from the new installation. Is there any chance of finding my bookmarks somewhere else on my computer? If so, where are they and how can I restore them?

Thanks for the answer. I read the article but it seems that the solution to my problem is not in there. Apart from the lost bookmarks Firefox is working fine, also I can make new bookmarks and delete them without problems. When I restart Firefox I don't loose them.
Apparently after installing Firefox 5 everything of Firefox 3 was deleted including my profile. The only bookmark .json file I have is from the new installation, which means it does not contain any of my old bookmarks. It now has today's date and time.
In my profile I have three 'places' files, now all with today's date and time:
    - places.sqlite (10240 kb)
    - places.sqlite-shm (32 kb)
    - places.sqlite-wal (865 kb)
But even though places.sqlite is large, it apparently does not contain my old information. Or could it? Then how to get to it?
