What happened to my contacts list in Yosemite mail

I use to have a pull down list of contacts that I could pick and choose (holding down the Command Key) several addressees.  I can't find that pull down list.  Selecting the + only allows one selection at a time, not several.

Dick2111,
I appreciate your response, but I would hardly call it an acceptable work around.  Your work around only applies if you "pidgeon hole" folks into distinct groupings or contact lists.  I enjoyed and fully utilized the pull down menu in Mountain Lion.  I would enter the BCC field, access the pull down menu of addressees, and double click on each one that I wanted to copy into the BCC field.  Then, with Maverick's, they diminished the ability to double click and finally came up with a "work around" my having to hold down the Command key as I selected individual contacts to move to the BCC field.  That was totally acceptable and I appreciated the escalation and work on the Engineers part.   This work around was only produced after my trouble call was elevated to Senior Engineers.  Now even the Command key option is gone with Yosemite, and the only response I got from Apple Customer Support was to report it via the "feedback" page.  That to me is not unresponsive, but pretty close to it.
It might be an "oversight" but to me is either sloppy programming or perhaps deleting what is thought as infrequently used features to incorporate new features without "growing" the size of the Operating System.
I know i am wrong, but right now I feel it is part of the overall migration plan to an eventually have just one operating system for all Apple platforms, which (tongue in cheek) means if ya can't do it with your thumbs, it can't be important.  I am not sure if there are any third party programs out that address this issue, but I'm not a real fan of replacing Apple core programs with 3rd party stuff, but I may have no choice.  Bummer!

Do you have the iCloud set up?  If you don't you need to buy a third party software that will do it for you when you plug your phone into the new computer.  You can google: iPad/iPhone/iPod to Computer Transfer.  You have to pay for the software but it's really a life saver and you get free updates for life.  It'll save you a lot of pain and suffering in the future.  I've used it many times.

  • HT5361 How to send a mail to my entire contact list of my Mail app ?

How to send a mail to my entire contact list of my Mail app ?

    Hello Madhu,
The only way to send an email without opening a client is: using server-side mail objects invoked by your app.
    This would be the workflow:
    - your user fills in form data (subject, body, mail_to)
    - your application sends form data to a server (via httpservice or webservice or AMF)
    - the server takes care of sending the mail in a way that is transparent to your user
So: it is not possible to send emails without opening the iPhone client (I think by "outlook" you mean the "mail client" with an Exchange account) for security reasons. You wouldn't want any app to send mails without you pressing "Send" in a known interface.

  • What happened to App Category list?

    Hello!
The very useful sorting of App Store apps into a Category list has been replaced with an "App Store Quick Links" list. Useful if I'm looking for 'Apps for Foodies' and just a few other categories with cutesy names, but useless if I want to browse Travel or Productivity or Reference or other apps. What happened to the comprehensive category list?
    Thanks.

Hover your mouse over "App Store" in the iTunes store top toolbar and use the white arrow to display the categories list and make your choice.
Or use the "Power Search" link on the iTunes Store home page, select Apps and choose the categories and devices you wish.

  • What happened to my contacts????

I have had SKYPE for over 10 years...same account. I built a list of contacts and also over the years set up family members computers so all one of us had to do was open the skype screen, see who was logged in and click the video call button and have a video call. I last used it on this computer (Vista) a few months ago and it worked great. Now, everything is different...unrecognizable and unnavigatible!!! What have you done??? I had to change my password because my old one did not work, there is nothing the I can see that would allow me to get all my invited contacts back...WHAT WERE THEY THINKING MESSING WITH A GOOD THING TO THIS DEGREE??? and yes you better believe I am yelling! If I can't figure this out, how is my 80 year old mother 3000 miles away going to configure her skype screen? The big QUESTION is: How do I get back to what I had without having everyone I know re-accept an invite? How do I even get to where I could send an invite...even if I wanted?

If you continue to use the very same account to sign in to Skype the contact list will remain the same. Your contact list is stored on our server, so it won't be affected by you upgrading your Skype client to a newer version.

  • What happens to old Reading List items?

In Safari 7 what happens to items in the Reading List after they are read? Are they deleted automatically? If so, when? (I know it is not right away.)
In previous versions the items flagged as "Read"  would be grayed out, and I could clear them one by one to keep them from cluttering things up. In the newest version, however it seems to be impossible to tell which ones are "Read" without right-clicking and examining the context menu.
Even better, of course, would be a button or menu option to clear the "Read" items en masse.

I am probably telling you something you already know, but if you pull down on the Bookmarks - Reading List - Shared Links pane while viewing your Reading List, you can choose between "All" and "Unread." The options are hidden just above the search bar in Reading List.
Also, you can right-click (control click) on the list to mark an item as read/undread, remove an item, or clear all items.
But you're right, there's no easy way to separate the "read" from the "unread."

  • Looks like my contact list in MSN mail got hijacked. What now?

People in my contact list have been getting spammed with a money scheme. It wouldn;t be as bad if people in the home office weren't getting it. I changed my password and took the MSN accounts offline, but I'm not sure whether the spam is coming from my email or if my contact list got stolen. Any help?

On the right of the To: field you will see a circled plus sign:
    Click it.

  • Retrieving Contacts List on iPad Mail

Can anyone tell me how to look up the Contacts list in Mail. The settings for contacts are about sort and display. I haven't been able to see my list of contacts and/or choose from it to send email on iPad?

I've tried that but all I get is 2 ancient contacts. To the left of the heading - Contacts-  it says Groups. Is that part of the problem?

  • What happened to my contact pictures in text messaging?

A couple of nights ago, my list of text conversations are not showing the contact's picture. When I go into a specific conversation, the picture is there, but not when I am in the whole list of conversations. Has anyone had this problem? I have tried resetting my phone to factory settings several times and that has not helped. Any suggestions?
I know that it is not a crucial part of a phone's operation, but gosh, it is really convenient to pick the person you want to send a text to by choosing their picture from the list of conversations...

  • IOS 4.3.1 - What happened to Gmail Contacts Push?

Can someone at Apple explain why: In iOS 4.3.1 the 'Contacts' option has been removed from Gmail account setup? Instead we now have to connect the iPhone physically to iTunes via USB and enable Gmail contact sync via the 'Info' tab? One can only speculate that Apple have finally realised that pushing contacts from Gmail ate into their MobileMe revenues to such an extent that they have elected to penalise Gmail (or should I say 'Google apps') users to impair Google and reposition MobileMe which is way overpriced?
    Or am I completely wrong?

So in order to configure push Gmail we have to use the MS Exchange wizard? NOT THE ONE CALLED GMAIL?
Push access for received email has NEVER been supported with a Gmail account on the iPhone until Google supported accessing a Gmail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app.
What is the MS Exchange Wizard?
Meanwhile there is a sync to Gmail option under the iPhone iTunes Info tab?
This option has ALWAYS been available - since day one - long before Google supported accessing a Gmail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app. Some may prefer not accessing their Gmail account as an Exchange account. Some with a Gmail account don't store their contacts with their Google online address book. Because Google now supports accessing a Gmail account as an Exchange account with the iPhone's Mail app which everyone with a Gmail account may not want to use, Apple is supposed to remove the option to sync Google contacts direct via the iTunes sync process?
