What happened to my old iPod in my device list?

My iPod was stolen on October 22, and after a long month and a half of procrastination, my friend cleared it off and i bought it from home.  Both my old and purchased from friend one were 32gb ipod touch 4th generations.  While the theft wouldn't really be able to do much with an ipod he couldn't get into, I didn't really want to erase it (which was impossible because it wasn't connected to the internet) until I bought the one from my friend.  I restored the one I bought with all the apps and music I had before, but when I go into my devices listed under my Apple ID, then only one that shows up is the one I got from my friend. I was going to ask Apple if they could somehow erase the stolen one for me, but I can't do that without it being my product.  This also means I can't access the serial number, which I do have around the house somewhere, but it will be hard to find.  Does anyone think it's worth going through the trouble to get them to erase it, and if so, how would I go about doing so?

I did that to ge all my stuff back, but I guess the fact that I restored it onto the new one is effectively making the new one the old one.

All my email has disappeared from iCloud.  I did not delete it, and now it's working again, but only from 28 August 2013.  What happened to my old emails? How do I get them back? thanks

Have you checked whether the emails are visible at http://icloud.com ? If they are, it's a problem between your Mac and the website; sign out in System Preferences>iCloud and sign back in again.
If they aren't, then it's a server problem and you need to contact Support. If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee; if so you should argue that this is a problem they've caused (it's not the first time, by the way) and you shouldn't be charged.

  • What happens to my old sync data?

Once I create a Firefox account and unlink all devices and relink them with the new account, what happens to my old sync data?

You can delete the old account to remove all data stored on the server.

  • What to do with old Ipod 4

Apple gave me back my broken Ipod 4 that they replaced with a new one for a price.  I am just wondering what I can do with it now?

Anything yo want. Sell for parts.
I am surprised since Apple exchanges an old iPod for a refurbished one as an out-or-warranty replacement.

  • What happens when synching Mac iPod to my Windows laptop?

I have only used my 4th gen iPod with my iMac. I also have a PC (XP) laptop with iTunes also. I am on vacation for 2 months with only my PC laptop and want to sync my iPod with iTunes on it to listen to podcasts.
    How do I do that?
What happens when I do that?
What will I lose on it?
Will it be easy to reset it for use with my iMac when I return home?
    Thanks.

    Hello Gatlas,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
    How do I do that?
You will not be able. A PC cannot read a Mac formatted iPod. Upon plugging the iPod in, you will be asked to reformat the iPod for Windows. After doing so, you will be able to sync it with your PC, but reformatting or restoring the iPod will wipe all content from the iPod and set it back to its original default settings.
However, after doing so, you can set it up to "manually manage music and videos" by enabling this option from your iPod's Summary tab. This will allow you to sync content to the iPod from multiple computers. And since it will be formatted for a PC as FAT32, it is cabable of being read and written to by Macs as well. For more help and information on syncing your iPod with multiple computers, see this Apple support document.

    Hope this helps.

  • HT201269 What happens when the old device's Restore From Backup doesn't appear as a choice for the new (iPad) device?

My wife dropped her iPad and fried the screen. It was still functional, so I backed it up with iTunes. The backup was successful for all apps, photos, etc.  I just swapped that iPad at the Apple Store for a refurbished model and attempted to Restore From Backup.  iTunes now doesn't see that old iPad so I can't restore the old data on the new device. Any help appreciated.

Here's an interesting bit: iTunes will let me restore my iPod touch from backup: it's still running iOS 4.3.3. I figured as much... there's backups showing in the Preferences -> Devices list for both devices (and even my old, long gone iPod touch 2G), but my iPhone (on iOS5) isn't giving me any such option. I remember I had to downgrade before to get the backup restored (something went haywire in the setup assistant, and I couldn't restore a backup from iTunes there)... If it was possible to go to iOS 5.0 rather than 5.0.1 I would just do the same thing again, but iOS 5.0.1 isn't an option. I attached a screenshot. Hopefully Apple can get this nonsense sorted out; I think iOS 5 might be the root of this, somehow.

  • What Happened to my Beloved iPod Screen?

    What happened here?
    http://picasaweb.google.com/Tom.Goodreau/FurnitureForSale/photo#4951412163386736 658
    Any explainations? Thanks in advance!
    Sony Vaio Windows XP Pro

These defects on the screen are clearly on the inside of the housing on the LCD itself. What makes me wonder are the diagonal lines that are so symmetrical.
I'm assuming it could be three things that could have caused this, because it wasn't like this a week ago:
    1. I did buff it using Brasso (not the first time)
    2. Manufactures Defect
    3. I took it to the beach, no where near the water though, just set it on a table between two chairs
I always keep it in its sleeve when I'm not using it. I'm a perfectionist and this is driving me nuts!

  • What happened to my old dock stuff?

I just got the latest version of Leopard for Christmas and was SO excited to install it. I installed it and when I went to update our website, low and behold, iWeb is gone. As well as ALL of my iLife applications (iPhoto, Garage Band, etc.). What happened to them? Do I have to purchase another iLife version. This truly disappoints me, because nothing indicated that when you upgrade to Leopard that you would also have to purchase additional software to KEEP what you already had to begin with!
Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I just missed it entirely....
    madjade

If you did an Erase and Install, you erased your iLife.
You will need to reinstall from your original disks that came with our computer..
When you boot from the disk, choose Bundled software...
If you did an Archive and Install, then your iLife applications should be in a folder called "Previous Systems".....

  • What happened to the old JamPack 1?

Before the SteveNote, the four JamPacks Apple sold were:
    Jam Pack 1
    Jam Pack 2: Remix Tools
    Jam Pack 3: Rhythm Section
    Jam Pack 4: Symphony Orchestra
Now, the four they sell are:
    Jam Pack 1: Remix Tools
    Jam Pack 2: Rhythm Section
    Jam Pack 3: Symphony Orchestra
    Jam Pack 4: World Music
So what happened to the original JamPack 1? Have all of those loops and instruments been rolled up into GarageBand 3's default install, or are all those loops and instruments just plain discontinued?

JamPack 1 is now included as a standard part of GB3.
Where did you get this information from? Another poster recently said this:

I think people are thinking it was included because its no longer listed as for sale at the Apple store.
However it appears you are right. I did a clean install of Garageband 3 while my Jam Pack 1 folder was moved elsewhere and renamed, and the Garageband installer did not put any of those loops on my hard drive.
For those wanting to check, the first loop listed in the Jam Pack 1 folder is "12 String Dream 01.aif" - so you can see if you have it anywhere.

  • What happened to all the songs in my Wish List?

I have not yet upgraded to Yosemite from Mavericks, but I did download the latest iTunes upgrade prior to Yosemite. Now all but a few of the approximately 400 songs I had in my Wish List have been wiped out. Can anybody tell me what happened? Is there any way I can restore the Wish List?

Yep - Apple has screwed the wish lists up - when I sent a help message I got a stock reply  "I realize how concerned you must be, and I certainly understand the urgency in resolving this immediately. Apple is aware of the issue and currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available. Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.
No, Apple does not really want my experience to be enjoyable or it would have added useful, basic functions to iTunes over the years instead of stripping them away or ignoring the needs of people who have large music collections - turning the wish list into a sliding sideways scrolly thing is terrible design. If they keep dumbing it down as they are, soon the iTunes interface will just be a big red button that says "Listen to new Taylor Swift album" and sadly Apple is doing this with their OS as well - simplify, design it for use on a phone, and to **** with the desktop users who have more complicated needs.

  • What happens to the old phone at the time one gets (upgrades) to the 3G?

So, I understand that the old phone stops working when you upgrade to the 3G, as they will transfer your number to it's SIM.
I am wondering how instantaneous it is, and what actually happens, i.e. is displayed on the old phone.
I am thinking of upgrading my wife's phone while she is on a plane returning - the account is in my name - so I won't have the physical phone with me. When she turns the old one on does it display a sim error, or say 'deactivated', or 'emergency only', or...... ???
    Thanks!
    Dan

Nothing will happen to phone physically, it will just show "no service" in the upper left of phone. She won't be able to make calls, as they activate the phone at time of purchase. Otherwise, it will work normally.

  • Buying a iphone; what happens with my old games?

I am going to buy an iphone 3G next week. I have an ipod touch now with apps and games on it that I bought in the app store and will give this ipod to my daughter. What will happen with them everything I bought for my ipod? Will I lose all the games I bought or can I transfer them to my new iphone?

These applications work the same as music, movies, photos, etc in iTunes with it's own tab page. Once you get your new iPhone, you just sync them back to the iPhone from iTunes. You don't have to re-pay for them.

  • HT4796 What happens with my old user account on my MacBook?

Once this process is done, is there a way to delete my first user account on my Mac? I mean, this is saying that everything will transfer to a new account; it won't merge with your current account on the Mac. I only want ONE user account on my MacBook. But then again, what about the apps I've installed and am using, such as Final Cut Pro or Pages? Will they be gone on my new user account that has my migrated data? Thanks in advance!

Sorry, to clarify "once this process is done" - I'm talking about once Migration Assistant is done. I'm migrating my data from my old PC laptop to my new MacBook Pro.
