What happened to my sound control?

The internal speaker works fine and I can turn the volumen up and down. When I plug the earbuds in the internal speaker keeps playing and the volume control won't change the volumn for the earbuds. This has just suddenly happened. What did I do? Thanks for any help!!!!

The earphones must be pushed very hard into the iPod. So hard, that the white part of the plug must touch the iPod in order for the external speakers to turn off. You will hear a click.
If you do a forum search, you will find this same solution. If it does not work, you will need to take your iPod to an apple store or call the Apple iPod tech support if still under warranty or you have Apple Care.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

What happened to the sound effects in Garageband after in app purchase of $4.99 expansion pack?

I purchased a brand new MacBook Pro OS Mavericks and promptly began using Garageband 10.0.2. There were many sound effects provided in the program (thunder, galloping horses, etc.), and I decided to complete the in app purchase. Once I completed the download and install, I realized that I no longer had those sound effects. Does any one know what happened to them?

Galloping Horses and thunder are not part of the GarageBand sound effects. You have probably other loop packages installed, for example the Final Cut Pro Sound Effects or the iLife Sound Effects.
Check, how your Loop Browser is set. The pop-up menu at the top of the Loop Browser should be set to "Loops" to have all loops available. Set the "Scale" to any, clear the search field. In the GarageBand Preferences, "Loops" pane disable "Keyword Browsing", filter for more relevant results.
Now you should be able to see all installed loops. If not, use the command "Reindex all Loops" from the "Loops" pop-up menu.

What happens to regular input controls within JSF form?

What does JSF do with plain HTML/XHTML input controls contained inside a JSF form? Considering an HTML form gets rendered I would image that the values of the plain HTML control gets submitted. Does JSF just trash them?

What happened to the sound on incoming phone calls and other notifications???

I have my sound on "Loud (Active)" as I always do and then all of the sudden it stops making any sounds or chimes when I receive calls, emails, texts or facebook notifications. My calls and ect. are still coming thru, but just completely silent. I have to look at my screen to see I have a call coming thru and wait for the little red light at the top to see if I have any text messages and whatnot. Does anyone know why this could be happening? Now during the workday I will probably end up missing important phone calls and playing phone tag with people.
Any help would be appreciated

Sound doesn't work when on the internet. Only has happened since firefox updated on my computer Aug. 25-26 sometime. All of my sound divices work fine off the net.

Reset the SMC and PRAM each at least 2-3 times. I don't know where you got instructions for these resets so please navigate to Intel iMac SMC and PRAM resets for correct instructions just in case.

What happened to the parental controls page

I have not had occasion to mess with any parental controls recently until today. I had the page bookmarked that allowed me to control what email addresses my minor child could send and receive email to/from and that page is gone. I cannot for the life of me find anywhere on this site where to adjust parental control settings. I now have another minor child for whom we've created a sub account for and I have no way of controlling what email is allowed in. Why I try to go to Manage Sub Accounts I get an error message that that page no longer exists. Argh! I've been fooling with this site and the Verizon Yahoo site for over an hour. Where is the parental controls page that actually lets me set the parameters?!

What happened to my transform controls?

Can someone tell me why my transform controls won't work after saving a file in .psd format and closing the program? When I reopen the file I can select the layer I want to edit but I have no transform controls.

You mean, the option is checked but the transform controls are not showing?
If so, it sounds like a screen redraw problem, probably related to your video card or/and its driver. Check if disabling Open GL Drawing in the Performance category of the Preferences will help.

When importing what happens to the sound?

whenever i import a file from my computer, not from a camera, the sounds doesnt come with it. how do i make the sound import with the video?

you didn't gave as any additinal info about these "files"...- what is the suffix? .avi, .wmv, .mov, .mpg? do you own QTpro?=>open file/hit Apple-J, tell us about the codec....

System Preferences: Sound: Output: Internal Speakers
No sound through internal speakers.
No sound if I plug in earphones.
I hear the start-up chime, but nothing else.
The volume up/down keys act as if they work fine.
Any ideas?

When I try to startup iTunes (9.0.3), I get the error message:
"The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-200)."
I tried (twice) to reinstall iTunes, but I get the following error:
"The installation failed. The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

I did most everything you suggested (well, attempted to, anyway), and more. I used Apple's Hardware test, which indicated that my hardware was hunky-dory. But when I got to the part about archiving and installing, the installation failed. Twice.

I finally called Tech Support (LOVE those guys!), who loved that I had documented all the troubleshooting I had done, along with the error messages. Noah told me that I should have called after I could not re-install iTunes.
Noah was VERY VERY happy that I had done a recent backup (3 days earlier), since most of his callers do NOT. Tsk, Tsk!
Did you know you can do a full restore from Time Machine? I thought you also had to have the system disks, but I didn't. (Turns out the OS disk was faulty).
Anyway, after the TM restore, the clouds parted, and smiles returned to my face.

What happened to QuickTime Vid Controls?

Under Window>Show AV Controls, the controller shows up, but the video sliders-- bright, color, contrast and tint, are greyed.
This doesn't have to be a QT PRO feature; it was available under Tiger.

I figured I'd dl the latest QT. It wouldn't install on any of my volumes which is strange because only one of them is Leopard, the rest are still Tiger. Even when choosing a Tiger volume, I'm told that this version isn't compatible with this OS; I need an earlier version of OSX. Weird.

i know you can get at them in the charater menu, but is there any way to get them back in the top? i used that CONSTANTLY and now its gone for no apparent reason. there's plenty of empty space up there, i don't understand why those controls are missing.

A good reason to back up preferences, I'm thinking. The recent update of Indesign to ID 6.0.5 removed the customisations I'd made to the tool bars, which really confused me for a while.
(A slightly botched update, methinks. It's also removed ID's ability to remember its last window size and positioning - it always goes back to the Mac default now (not quite full size, not quite docked), even though I'm using Windows. A small thing, but annoying.)

I don't know why they released the news that they were going to develop a new card at the exact same moment they released the audigy 4 pro. I think sales of the audigy 4 pro won't be that overwhelming and maybe they're waiting to release it to sell more audigy 4 pro's. I mean who would still want to buy a audigy 4 pro, that is still based on an older bus if you have a soundcard available that already uses the new pci-E x bus. Matters get worse as reviews point out that the audigy 4 pro is nothing more than a slightly ameliorated audigy 2 zs platinum pro(better DAC-chip), this also shows in the price that is almost the same as that of the zs plat pro. I hope however they will release the zenith in the next 3 months.
It would be the ideal moment. Harddisk manufacturers will be bringing out some new SATA300 hd's(nice for people who have a mobo with a sata300 controller on it), samsung was the first a few days ago. But for the moment harddisks can't transfer data as fast as sata300 can take, so I hope manufacturers find a solution for this.
