What happened to my tracking control?

just upgraded to CS4...
have the tracking and baseline shift controls been eliminated from the top control bar?
i know you can get at them in the charater menu, but is there any way to get them back in the top? i used that CONSTANTLY and now its gone for no apparent reason. there's plenty of empty space up there, i don't understand why those controls are missing.

A good reason to back up preferences, I'm thinking. The recent update of Indesign to ID 6.0.5 removed the customisations I'd made to the tool bars, which really confused me for a while.
(A slightly botched update, methinks. It's also removed ID's ability to remember its last window size and positioning - it always goes back to the Mac default now (not quite full size, not quite docked), even though I'm using Windows. A small thing, but annoying.)

What happens to regular input controls within JSF form?

What does JSF do with plain HTML/XHTML input controls contained inside a JSF form? Considering an HTML form gets rendered I would image that the values of the plain HTML control gets submitted. Does JSF just trash them?

What happened to my sound control?

The internal speaker works fine and I can turn the volumen up and down. When I plug the earbuds in the internal speaker keeps playing and the volume control won't change the volumn for the earbuds. This has just suddenly happened. What did I do? Thanks for any help!!!!

The earphones must be pushed very hard into the iPod. So hard, that the white part of the plug must touch the iPod in order for the external speakers to turn off. You will hear a click.
If you do a forum search, you will find this same solution. If it does not work, you will need to take your iPod to an apple store or call the Apple iPod tech support if still under warranty or you have Apple Care.

What happened to the parental controls page

I have not had occasion to mess with any parental controls recently until today. I had the page bookmarked that allowed me to control what email addresses my minor child could send and receive email to/from and that page is gone. I cannot for the life of me find anywhere on this site where to adjust parental control settings. I now have another minor child for whom we've created a sub account for and I have no way of controlling what email is allowed in. Why I try to go to Manage Sub Accounts I get an error message that that page no longer exists. Argh! I've been fooling with this site and the Verizon Yahoo site for over an hour. Where is the parental controls page that actually lets me set the parameters?!

What happened? My tracks aren't being accessed correctly

Hi, I'm using DVDSP4
I have a project with 2 tracks. The tracks are composed of many sequences, perhaps 30 for each track. I exported the sequences from Final Cut Express.
The menus in DVDSP access each of the sequences.
Track 1 works perfectly.
Track 2 is a very different story. Audio + video are not synced: Audio from one sequence plays over video from another. The menu is not sending the "playhead" to the right spot... not of the menu choics for track 2 work correctly.
I have no idea how to approach this problem.
It doesn;t matter if I play the disk on my mac, or an external dvd player.
The same thing happens if I play from the disk image of the disk I made on the hard drive. So I don't think it's a write issue. Can anyone help? THANKS!

Have you built this project to disc and then added or changed the assets at any time? It sounds to me as if you've got a corrupted build folder if you are certain the second track is created accurately and that your menus point to the correct tracks.
Have you tried adding the track 2 assets into track 1 and using stories to separate the different sets of assets?

What happened to my transform controls?

Can someone tell me why my transform controls won't work after saving a file in .psd format and closing the program? When I reopen the file I can select the layer I want to edit but I have no transform controls.
Please help !! (I'm using Photoshop CS5 (32-bit))

You mean, the option is checked but the transform controls are not showing?
If so, it sounds like a screen redraw problem, probably related to your video card or/and its driver. Check if disabling Open GL Drawing in the Performance category of the Preferences will help.

What happened to "join tracks"??

After the last ungrade for OSX there is no longer a join tracks when down loading audio books? It was there, I installed the upgrade and now its gone.
It was under "Options" when reading a CD.

What happened to QuickTime Vid Controls?

Under Window>Show AV Controls, the controller shows up, but the video sliders-- bright, color, contrast and tint, are greyed.
This doesn't have to be a QT PRO feature; it was available under Tiger.

I figured I'd dl the latest QT. It wouldn't install on any of my volumes which is strange because only one of them is Leopard, the rest are still Tiger. Even when choosing a Tiger volume, I'm told that this version isn't compatible with this OS; I need an earlier version of OSX. Weird.

Lack of options in iCloud control panel compared to MobileMe Control panel, so now what happens if there is a conflict of data (Cloud vs Computer)?

Back then when we were syncing with MobileME, the control panel allows us to decide what to do when there is a conflit of data in the cloud vs the information on our computer. We were given the option of Replacing information in Me with information on the computer or vice versa, but now we do not have any of these options. And currently when i sync my computer with icloud, i dont know if the information (Contacts, Bookmarks) will be replaced with the current informaiton on the iCloud (transfered from MobileMe) or they will merge (if they merge then i would have double of contacts,bookmarks??) or the information in the iCloud would be replaced?
If we had more options in the control panel of iCloud, then things can be simplier. However, with the current iCloud control panel, we have no way of knowing what happens when there is a conflict and we won't know what action the iCloud would take for the conflict of information.
So currently i still dont know if my Favourites (Bookmarks) will be replaced or not.
Does anyone know if we can wipe out the info on iCloud and replace it with the data (Contacts, bookmark, calendars etc) on our computer?

This is what I did...not ideal but seems to work for right now till iCloud actually syncs contacts into Outlook 2010 (PC/Win 7) like Mobile Me used to. I opened the contacts in the iCloud contact address boxes in Outlook. I selected all contacts by selecting one and then Ctrl-A (selects all), then Ctrl-C (copies all). Then I went into the Outlook Contact folder which is blank from iCloud "stealing" all my contacts and in that empty box I hit Ctrl-V to past all contacts in. I am now able to use my contacts when emailing in Outlook.
Of course, any changes I make to my iPhone contact list or via iCloud will only sync back to the iCloud contacts lists in Outlook (and not Outlook's main calendar) so occassionally I'm thinking I'll need to go back and do this all again either figuring out a way to only copy new contacts over, or going into Outlook Contacts and deleting all of those, going back to Outlook iCloud contacts (which are syncing but not communicating with other aspects of Outlook like mail) and then do the process all over (select all, copy, paste).
Seems silly that contacts can't work the same as they did with Mobile Me but it seems like Apple has a tendancy with everything but their actual iDevices to be screwy when things are working and make things more complicated. I was not looking towards this day as I knew there would be some stupid issue as it seems like it always is that way with their new software rollouts. In fact, I use Outlook 2010 through Parrells still cause their Mac version still won't sync even calendars...at least iCloud is still doing that with Outlook 2010 Windows...though still the same issue as Mobile Me that it doesn't sync with the main calendar...but I can still use it and sync well to the iPhone.

In case of a DB crash what happens to the status of the Control File

When a DB is crashed will the Control file that exists in the OS also get corrupted, What happens to the Data Files , how to recover the Control files and Data Files , the DB in case there isn't any Backup media or any Dump available on the DB.

The only one way to recover a database is to be in archivelog mode.
And if I said about recover stricto sensu, that's because even in noarchivelog mode we need to use the command recover until cancel before an open with resetlogs option, even if we haven't any redo/archive logs. That fake a recover, this is what we say a mimic recover. Which is not a recover stricto sensu like it can be the case with archivelog mode.

Message Tracking - Determing what happens to specific email

Good afternoon all! I have a situation with a client Exchange 2010 server. They have a front end/back end exchange setup. They are running this on Server 2008 R2. Mail is setup and working great. They have ONE specific email
they receive on a nightly basis. This email makes it through the front end spam solution, then passes the receive connector. In the message tracking logs I see the message is received. It is sent to a distribution group. Other email
that is sent to the distribution group will have a corresponding expand and deliver logs. This particular email does not have anything further than receive. No other logs to identify why it is not being delivered or dropped or anything. I

There are no further logs on this message. For those that will read the delivery status notification. This message is a bounce back message that they are not receiving. I did change the Default Properties on the remote domains, so that
Allow external out-of-office messages and legacy out-of-office messages is selected as well as under message format: Allow Auto replies, Allow Auto Forward, Allow Delivery Reports, Allow Non-Delivery Reports are also all selected.
I am lost on where to figure out what happens to this email after the receive connector gets it. Messages normally have other messages that show additional information; however this message just dies there.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply. I actually started with searches for anything going to that distribution group. I used the GUI version, then went to the shell. Neither was able to produce anything beyond receive. I thought maybe the group was
not setup properly to get emails from the outside, but after testing from my email address directly to the group, I see normal behavior it expands then delivers to the store. With these particular emails, they only ever have the event of receive nothing
further. Any ideas where to look when that happens?

What happened to command control D over text?

In Snow Leopard and Lion, you could hold down command control D over text (try it in TextEdit or Safari) and the definition for the word would pop up.
What happened to this? Why is it gone? How can this be restored?
Anyone?
It is so bothersome when functionality you've been using for years mysteriously goes away.

What happened to the controls in QuickTime?

I like the new look of QuickTime, but what happened to the controls for editing video? I used to be able to hit the "I" key for inpoint, and the "O" key for endpoint, and then hit delete to remove that section. Now, I have to drag the selection tool around to do the cut. This is very awkward, especially when I need to fine-tune the areas where the cut is to be made.
Are there any tips on doing some more fine-tuned edits in QuickTime?

I second SwagMeyer's request. He's not asking for any advanced trimming feature that would make things more difficult for the simple user: the IN and OUT shortcuts were presents and "invisible" also in QuickTimePro 7 and they would not affect that easiness of the application.

What happened to command to get track names

I'm using iTunes 11.01 on OS 10.6.8 having just recently downloaded the updated iTunes. What happened to the advanced menu and the command to get track names and infor? I ripped some CD's while I was offline, and now I cana't figure out how to access the Gracenote Database to get the track names. This is a serious omission in the new version.

It is still there. Right mouse click on a song or group of songs and select Get Track names

What happened to my tracking control?
