What Happened to my Video?

I recently had a bad piece of RAM corrupt my hard drive and the OS to the extent that the hard drive needed to be erased and OS X reinstalled. I migrated my data back to the iMac from a Drobo, using a Time Machine backup, and all seems well, except that I can't find my video (TV shows purchased from iTunes) files anywhere. The TV shows are still listed in the iTunes menu, but clicking on any of them just gives me the "can't be found --- would you like to locate ...?" message, and I can't locate the files. There used to be a folder in my iTunes music library labeled "TV Shows", but it's not there now.
Any ideas on where my video has gone? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
John

Thanks for the reply. When I select the video file in iTunes and then "get info", it tells me that the original file cannot be found and would I like to locate it? The summary says the file is where I expect it to be: a folder called "TV Shows" in the iTunes Music folder --- but there is no such folder. I have used Spotlight to look for the folder and/or any individual TV shows. Nothing. Opening Time Machine yields the same result. Nothing when it comes to that folder or any individual shows. I don't think they are on this computer anymore. What's strange tome is that I didn't exclude any items from Time Machine when I set it up. Why wouldn't it back up video? By the way, these shows are all purchased videos from the ITS; The other video (movies) I have on the computer is all still there.

Yes! As long as you don't delete your project files/library, you'll be fine.  When you install the full version, it might create a new library, go to your movies folder or wherever your current library is and just double click it to open it.

The current version being sold is 10.1. It is substantially different from your trial version. Read here to get started with the new version

  • HT2515 What happens if our video chat is not connecting with the other person?

What happens if our video chat is not connecting with the other person?

    Hi,
Not really enough info to help constructively.
    Which Version of iChat ?
Is it iChat to iChat or iChat to Messages  (i.e Mac to Mac) or AIM (iChat) to PC AIM  (needs to be a compatible version)
Is this AIM to AIM (Includes AIM valid Screen Names from certain Apple IDs) ?
Is it Jabber to Jabber (this can only be done Mac to Mac in Messages and/or iChat) ?
Do you get any failure  message ?
In the Video Menu > Connection Doctor > Errors tab do you get any info ?
    NOTES
As mentioned it is iChat to iChat or iChat to AIM on a PC if the PC has a compatible version (which is not the latest)  (where it lists iChat it also means Messages in Mountain Lion)
It has to be either AIM to AIM IDs or Jabber to Jabber IDs
It cannot be Jabber to some GoogleTalk Web Browser Login (or Facebook)
It cannot be Jabber/Google Talk to the PC app called GoogleTalk
Google released an PC only App that will use Jabber protocols for Video (Called Jingle)
Their web Browser Plug-in also uses Jingle for Video and Audio chat but iChat and Messages use SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) to connect.  The two are not compatible.
Facebook also run a  Jabber server and have apparently released their Own Plug-in  which can cause problems of it's own on a Mac.
However you also cannot video to a Web Browser Login on Mac or PC
If this is iChat 6 it does not Video on the Yahoo Accounts  (that is Text Only)
This means it cannot Video to any version of Yahoo on Mac or PC or any Web Browser method.

  • What happened to Music Videos?

This has not been updated much lately. Oh - the nano commercial is the latest. Wow. Even what has been updated is mostly country - yuck. Where is all the good current top 40 videos? I would much rather watch them in iTunes than go to other sites.

    Question guys...
Are the music videos all purchase option only? I mean before Ipod Video, there was free but old music videos to watch. Now I cannot find the link anywhere? Does this mean APPLE has taken them off and you can only buy vids? Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks a million.

  • What happen to the video effet's?

well i love that u are able to turn ur video from black and white but on i movie o8 does not have the effet what happen

This was Apple's response to my inquiry about this...
Thank you for holding. I was able to research this issue for you and was able to verify that this is expected behavior for the Videos Application. At this time, iOS 7 does not allow devices to view the entire season of shows without pauses. We definitely want to hear your feedback about our software and would like to invite you to to submit your concerns via our site at  www.apple.com/feedback . I do apologize about the change.
    My reply:
Wow, you took a perfectly awesome feature away from your users. That's just unacceptable!
I think we, the users and people who have paid for these products, need to step up and raise **** about this. Because it's absolute BS.

  • What happened to my video memory ?????? 256MB at Apple Store 64MB at Home

I bought a 1.66 Mac Mini with 1GB memory & 100GB Drive ( MA468LL/A) at the Apple Store in Dallas and the demo model in the store noted via System Info:
VRAM (Total): 256 MB of shared system memory
Whereas mine (after I returned home to Florida 3 days later) out of the box reported:
VRAM (Total): 64 MB of shared system memory
why did the apple store's have more shared memory? Is there a way to set this figure? Was this a "Bait & Switch"?

    Hello Oldman2006,
According to Apple's Senior director of desktops, Tom Boger, your Mac Mini is behaving exactly as it should.
It is supposed to provide only 64 MB of video memory, and use 16 MB of memory for overhead use. This pulls 80 MB of memory max. for video purposes.
The idea is that you don't want to steal too much memory from a system. Otherwise, you start suffering operating system and program slow-downs.
So, they capped the memory draw to minimize other performance penalties.
Now, these limits are set in OS X, so it's possible that the store's model had something tweaked, or perhaps something installed improperly.
It would be possible to disable this limitation. But, you need to find a way around Apple's original intentions.
You can read about the interview on this subject at Mac World:
    http://www.macworld.com/weblogs/editors/2006/03/miniboger/
Read the full article to get all the details, but here is a small excerpt from the article:
"Although on PCs the GMA950 can potentially eat up as much as 224MB of main memory for use in frame buffering, Boger told us that Apple’s implementation doesn’t work that way: on the new Mac minis, the GMA950’s memory use is locked at 64MB. In other words, graphics won’t eat up more than its allotted share of your RAM (which is actually 80MB, since in addition to the 64MB for graphics, 16MB is set aside for what Boger called “general setup of the system”)."
Now, it has been shown that when running Windows XP, that the full amount of memory becomes available to the graphics chip. So, it is available, just apparently blocked in the OS X drivers somewhere.
There have been a lot of discussions on the various hacking sites about this subject. So far, a lot of tinkering has been done, but no one (that I have read) has said that they have found a way around this in OS X.
Perhaps something on the store model was installed incorrectly (or tweaked) and provided this unusual reading.

  • What happened to my videos?

I have several videos that I purchased from iTunes on my iPad.  However 90% of them now have a cloud and I can not access them without downloading them.  How and why did this happen. I no longer have wifi and it will cost a fortune to re download them from the cloud with data usage.  If I can get wifi and download them how do I keep this from happening again.

There is a few events where I could see this happening...
It's possible if you computer is not authorized with your iTunes Store account it may not have transfered your purchases from the iPad to the computer. To check, Open iTunes> Select the "Store" menu along top of the program and select Authorize this computer. Sign in with your AppleID and password, this will make sure your computer is authorized for the future so you can transfer purchases from your device.

However, if your Movies are missing now you'll need to request to redownload or "regrant" them. Please send an email ticket into iTunes Store via...
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
Select "Video Purchases" in the grey boxes, then "Lost or Missing Items", then click the link to "Email Us" on the right. Fill out that form and the folks at the iTunes Store should get back to you less than 24 hours.

  • What happened to the video filter in Photoshop Elements 13?

So disappointed in Photoshop Elements 13. Just upgraded from Elements 8 with great expectations that 13 would be better and more powerful. All they did was dumb it down. Wish I could get my money back.

The Extract filter was eliminated as it has been made utterly obsolete by the new selection techniques in CS5.

  • HT201412 What happens when the video app quits working?

How can I fix my iPad 2 video app when it quits working properly?

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPad.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • What happen to HD video???

I recorded a random video just to test out the quality which turned out to be great. But when i sent a video to my friends iphone4 through MMS from my iphone4 the quality was horrible. Any body have a idea why this is? Thanks in advance.

Hi - when you send the movie via cellular or wifi connection, the iPhone automatically throttles back the bandwidth of the file to make it transfer faster. This is why you have reduced quality. Otherwise it might take 45 minutes of cell time to send.
In order to see your movie in all its beauty, you have to transfer it to your desktop via USB.
I am not a windows person but I think you do that by using Explorer while the iphone is connected to your PC.

  • What happens to my videos.

How do I download videos from my iPad? I can view them on my iPad but not on my PC  or via icloud.

    You're welcome.
You can either put them on a flash drive to transfer them from your laptop to your PC, or you can use an app like PhotoSync to transfer them to from your iPad to your computers (as vice versa) over your wifi.

  • What happened to the Video Workshop tutorials?

I have Illustrator CS3. I don't use it often so I rely on the video tutorials. The link inside the program help that used to point to the tutorials now points to "Adobe Inspire Magazine" which offers no help at all.
Oddly enough, the tutorials I'm looking for still exist in Italian. http://www.adobe.com/it/designcenter/video_workshop/ How is this fair?
I paid for all the features in CS3, one of which is access to the video tutorials. So Itialian speaking people still get help with CS3 and English speakers are bent over the barrel to cough up more money to upgrade? Not FAIR!
From inside my CS3 program help file:
To access Adobe Creative Suite 3 video tutorials, visit Adobe Video Workshop at www.adobe.com/go/learn_videotutorials. Doesn't work anymore.
Even in the CURRENT online pdf: http://help.adobe.com/archive/en_US/illustrator/cs3/illustrator_cs3_help.pdf you'll see references (including screen shots) to the video tutorials and links. (SEE PAGES 5-7 of the pdf) But they are LIES!!! As mentioned above, links now direct to a useless magazine.
Where are the 200+ videos I am supposed to have access to?
Had I purchased the DVD version of the software I'd have the tutorials on disk. I chose the download version as it was PROMISED to have all the same features. If they don't have them online anymore, I should be able to get a copy of the videos on disk shouldn't I?
    I need these tutorials.
    HELP!
    Update to above:
    Spanish version exists: http://www.adobe.com/es/designcenter/video_workshop/
    Dutch version exists: http://www.adobe.com/nl/designcenter/video_workshop/
    Sweedish version exists: http://www.adobe.com/se/designcenter/video_workshop/
Come on Adobe. Do the right thing here. Please provide the link to the english video workshop tutorials I paid for.

    No "effects" in iMovie 7.
You can always add them using iMovie 6 and export that file to version 7.

  • What happens when I press DELETE on a video in the camera roll on the iPad 2

What happens to the video in the camera roll on the iPad 2 when I press DELETE

Actually, I think that to a certain extent, iiCloud does support video storage - for backup purposes anyway. Maybe I am splitting hairs here or it's simply semantics ... Copied from Apple's iCloud backup and restore overview....
You get 5GB of free iCloud storage for:
Photos and videos in the Camera Roll
Device settings (for example: Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts)
    App data
    Home screen and app organization
    Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS)
    Ringtones
    Visual Voicemails
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859
So if the video was in the backup - and you restored the iPad from that backup, then the video would be retrievable .... But only by restoring the iPad from a backup that contains the video.
