What happened to Nikon Coolpix 7900 support?

I've "upgraded" to iLife '08 but do not have native support for my 7900. I can download pictures but iPhoto doesn't "recognize" my camera anymore. What happened?

Having the same problem with my Nikon Coolpix 7600 and iPhoto. It persists after the upgrade to 7.1.

     I am trying to contact Nokia US because i don't know if it is okay for me to bring the device (while i am travelling aboard) to a Nokia Care Center of another country and have they replaced my screen for a fee (since my phone is AT&T version and it can't do International Warranty) and then still retain my warranty at US. I have just discovered a dust beneath my FF camera and also a dust under a screen that i had not discovered until recently. So i just want to have it replaced.

    yup, i believe what paul said is it.
    unfortunately, even if it is a nokia repair facility, it will void warranty when you get back to us. :/

  • What happened to e-mail tech support

    I noticed that email tech support is gone.
    I have had problems with a Linksys product and I would like a solution, but can not get one.
    Tried using the online talk thing but it was taking too long to get to an available person. Which is what I thought the email was for, communicating together when meeting at the same time proved to be a burden.
    I have also tried getting it solved here, while I have seen others have this same problem, I haven't seen it actually solved.
    So does anyone know if email based tech support will return?
    Or even better does anyone have a solution to my units problem?

    while distance is lacking, it does work when the router works
    Both PCs run XP

    Router will crash when I am uploading files. This includes any protocol I have tried, so I don't believe it is linked to any one protocol.
    The crash requires me resetting the router via soft reset switch.
    Upload speed doesn't go over 35kBps so the amount of info is not the issue either.
    I have tried redoing the setup, making sure the firmware loaded correctly and everything.
    I have even sent the unit back to get a new one and the problems still happen.

    did you perform the HARD reset operation?
    Means: please press the reset button, hold it for 90 seconds. After first 30 seconds please unplug the I/O cable and plug it again (3-4 times) -- then (still pressing the reset) wait 30 seconds more.
    hard reset is done
    now wait till the lights stop blinking, the router makes stable and adjust settings from scratch.
    In case that the issue happen again - the only thing i can advise you is to return back device to Store.

    I'm looking to get a digital camera for my mom for xmas. She's running Tiger but the Nikon 4600 I'm looking is not on the supported list. Anyone have one of these cameras and if so does it work with Tiger and iPhoto 5?

    Blur warning is usually based on current shutter speed and focal length.  It is just a warning, ignore it if you're tripod mounted or have it sitting on a solid object.
    If you want it to go away, add more light to your scene, crank up the ISO sensitivity (pictures will become noisy though), or go outside in sunlight.

    What happened to Firefox Live Chat support? This is not Live Chat, yet, this is the most relevant link I'd found, and this is NOT Live Chat. Don't you think that if Live Chat had been discontinued that the most relevant links would be to posts asking what the hell happened to it?

    I think there weren't enough volunteers available to staff live chat, and given the choice of how to allocate resources, the knowledge base and forum were given priority because they reach many more users through search engines. Lately volunteers have taken to Twitter.

    What Happens to Me after 6/30/12?  Do I get to keep my @me.com address from MobileMe because My Mac, PC nor iOS device is supported by iCloud
    On 6/30/12 All ACTIVE MobileMe accounts that havn't MOVED to iCloud will be deleted as MobileMe is no longer available.
    Yes, this has a lot of customers upset, but you can still keep your account active and going until you are able to address the issue with the current versions of your computer and devices.
    iCloud does have a web based version like any other email address out there.  You may not be able to access the account on your Computers or devices as you would like to for what ever reason, but this will help you to keep your email address and gain access to it.
    iCloud: Supported system requirements
    You can KEEP your MobileMe email address and move it to iCloud even though your devices are not compatible and here is how.

  • Nikon Coolpix 990 not supported in iPhoto 11 v9.4.2 on OS x 10.8.2

    I am running Mountain Lion and Snow Leopard in separate partitions on the same iMac(Intel i3).  I can import photos from my Nikon Coolpix 990 camera using iPhoto 11 v 9.2.3 running on Snow Leopard.  I cannot import photos when running iPhoto 11 v 0.4.2 on Mountain Lion.  The camera shows up in the USB section of the system report.  Is anyone aware of this problem and how to fix it?

    I removed my photos and formatted the camera's flash card but it didn't help.  I spent an hour on the phone with Apple and they couldn't resolve the issue either.  The support person is forwarding the problem to Apple engineering.

  • What happened to TGA/Targa file format support?

    Tonight I tried to import some old scans of photos—I'm cleaning up my files and organizing. Well, back in the day (1993 or so) the scanning system I worked on used Targa (.tga) as its output format. So I have a number of them.
    When I tried to import them into Aperture, it would not accept them. I tried to drag and drop and do a manual import. On the manual import, the thumbnails wouldn't even appear.
    I get that Targa is not a common file format these days, and I don't see Targa in the list of supported file formats for Aperture 3, but what happened? TGA is in the list of supported file formats for Aperture 2.
    I'm a little concerned about having to convert all my Targas to TIFFs, but that's not the end of the world. What frightens me is: how many files did Aperture just throw away when I converted my library from Aperture 2 to Aperture 3? I don't know whether I imported any of my old Targas before upgrading to Aperture 3, but if I did, are they now gone?

    I seriously doubt they were deleted. Open up the library package folder then search for .tga within that folder.
