What happened to Notes in OS X Mavericks?

I was perfectly fine with using Notes under Mail when using my Desktop Mac. But now Notes are no longer accessible using Mail. But when I bring up Notes app directly on my Mac, my iCloud Notes are missing. I can still access them on my iPhone. I can also access my other Notes (gmail accounts) but just not iCloud.
So where are my iCloud Notes and why did Apple change them?

I migrated to Maverick the day it was announced and everything works except the 'Notes' in mail. It created the 'Notes' into a separate program and only migrated half of my notes .
I was wondering where and how can I retrieve those important notes . I checked my backup stuff in 'Time Machine' and cannot locate those files, it also states some of the verge.*** files are unknown aliases.. Does Maverick now not recognize those files on my G-Raid drive???

3.0 software: what happened to notes sync?

I've been reading over the past few months about the 3.0 beta and it included the ability to sync notes, which is my #1 priority. I just read through the list of all the new features in the final version of 3.0 and there is no mention of syncing notes. What gives? Has this feature been dropped?

Yeah, it's really odd that it isn't OTA. Mobile Mail shows my notes in real time OTA as they are just IMAP emails. Why can't the Mobile Notes app do the same? Strange. Of course, we still don't have ToDos, so this isn't entirely surprising.

Siri Can't Post To Facebook "Sorry I'm afraid I can't post to your Facebook, I'm not sure what happened" iOS 8.3

I've had trouble with this for quite a while now. Not sure what the issue is. I have an iPhone 6+ running the current software iOS 8.3 & when I try to post a Facebook status through Siri she responds with something along the lines of "I'm sorry. I can't post to your Facebook. I'm not sure what happened." Not sure what's causing this issue as I have the Facebook app installed on my iPhone as well as being signed in through the settings app. Note: this is an issue only with Facebook. She is able to post tweets with no with no issue.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

Did you check for connection problems?

HT1338 updated OS to Maverick, now magic mouse will not scroll. what happened?

I updated my OS to Mavericks latest, and now the magic mouse does not scroll...what happened? works through bluetooth, so I can move the cursor, but it will not scroll.

If your Magic Mouse is not scrolling, first go to the Mouse section of System Preferences and try toggling the "Scroll direction: natural" checkbox to see if it has an effect.

Upgraded! What happened to my Notes in Mail?

I upgraded to Maverick and now my Notes are gone! What happened to my Notes? Where are they?

It's not on my Dock between Messages and Reminders, which are also not on my Dock.
I had to use Spotlight to find it. They are still intact.

And when you try to sync an ibook from your Mac's iTunes to your iPad what happens ? You've selected the iPad device's Books tab and on that have selected the book(s) that you want to sync to the iPad ?

What happened to Raid utility in mavericks?

I have an early 2008 mac pro with apple's hardware raid card. After doing Apples "free" upgrade, I no longer have raidutility under utilties... What happened?
I'm also stuck in and endless loop of appstore trying to update itunes and hp printer driver...

I would claim that the RAID Utility is really a System Administrator app, and not a user app. And with the end of the silver Mac Pro models and Xserve already out of production, the Apple Raid cards appear to be a thing of the past.
As I manage 14 Mac Pros, from Early 2008 through Mid 2012 models, I'll have to figure out other ways to perform the mirrored disk function. I think it will be some kind of cron job that runs rsync to keep pairs of disks synced...
I've just installed Mavericks on a test Early 2008 Mac Pro, with RAID card, upgrading from OS X 10.6.8. So far, everything seems to be going pretty well. Next week's project is to compile Macports, and install our standard set of Unix utilities. This will likely be a challenge, for such a new OS.

I was surfing the net when my computer started emitting double beeps. I shut it down with no problem but I can't find any info on double beeps that did not occur at startup (haven't tried starting it back up yet though). What happened?

Quite the trial to sign in to freaking Apple support. I apparently made an account with my primary e-mail, but damned if I can recover the password, apparently I don't know my own birthday. So I had to make a new account with another e-mail, and even when I thought it was done, no, I had to fill out more information before I could get to this screen. You won't let me ask for tech support from your message board without my mailing address? Then my completely inoccuous user name was rejected for containing banned words. Lemurs and cats are profane now, what? This is why I hate computers.
Anyway, I've got Mac OS X 4.something, can't check because it is shut down, and I already described my problem in the subject there before I got dragged back into account creation. I searched several places for answers but all I can find are discussions about double beeping at startup (even when excluding the word "startup" from search results), while my double beeping started all of a sudden when the computer was in use. The beeps were certainly less than a minute apart. What happened? What do I need to do about it? Is it safe to start the computer up again? Fortunately my files are pretty much all backed up.

I don't know if we are experiencing the same problem, but this is what I did and it seemed to work for me so far.
Before anything I had to hard restart my laptop. hold power button until off then turn back on.
In Finder click on Go, then click Go to Folder. in the dialogue box type
/var/db/crls
In that folder there are two files that you need to move to the trash
crlcache.db
ocspcache.db
You will need to type in your password to move these to the trash.
Restart your computer and then Empty the Trash. It is very important that you empty the trash afterwards. I forgot to do this the first time and I had to restart the whole process. It has been a few days and I have been without any problems.
I am not claiming this process to be my own, I found it on another discussion thread and it worked for me. I don't have a link to it because I had to use someone else's computer and had no luck trying to find it again. This is the procedure I followed, I do remember it well and I wrote down the steps because I had to do it twice and got tired of combing through all of the websites I have searched looking for a fix to my problem. Hopefully this helps, and try it at your own risk of course.

What happens to the data in apps that you choose not to backup with iCloud?

I have a 64b iPad and a lot of the storage is used up with data stored inside apps. Some of these data stores are 10s of GB in size. Such as, I keep some videos on my iPad that I play with VLC player. When I upgraded the iPad to iOS5 and activated iCloud backup, it immediately told me there wasn't enough room to back up my iPad entirely. I turned off backing up certain apps, such as VLC.
What happens to these apps? Are they still backed up during regular syncs with your Mac?

when you plug into itunes you can backup to both locations (icloud and locally) just not a the same time. When you click on your phone in itunes you'll see this option
click icloud then sync (will backup to icloud when you sync)
afterwords
click back to this computer and sync
keep in mind that if icloud has a 5GB backup limite unless you upgrade it
10GB — $20/year
25GB — $40/year
50GB — $100/year
edit: forgot to say
if you don't sync with itunes to the computer then whatever doesn't go to icloud is not backed up at all.

What happened to my computer's ability to play sound when I updated to OSX 10.8.2? I had a hard time updating from 10.8 to 10.8.2 and now that I have my sound is gone and not adjustable.

I have a 13" Macbook Pro running OSX 10.8 and when I tried to update to 10.8.1 through the Mac App store it didn't acknowledge that there was an update available so I went to the apple website and manually downloaded the update. When I attempted to update it that way the installer said that my computer did not meet the requirements of the update. That was strange as it was already running 10.8.
So I called apple care and then gave me instructions to restart my computer holding option+command+R and redownload Mountain Lion and after it finally finished, it installed but now I just noticed that my sound icon on the menu bar is greyed out and in system preferences I cannot adjust the sound output. I don't understand what happened, all I wanted to do was update my OS. If anyone has any solutions I'm open. I'm also going to set up a genius bar appointment.

Firefox will not open now - I just updated my privacy settings, and cleared cookies - what happened?

I changed the privacy settings on Firefox preferences, including clearing cookies, history and cache, and now Firefox will not open at all. It said it had to restart after one of the privacy changes, but it didn't and now won't open by the dock icon or thru applications. What happened, and how can I correct the issue to start using Firefox again? Thanks.
