What happened to photo frame?

What happened to the photo frame app that came with iPad?

If you don't see the Picture Frame on your lock screen, it is possible that you disabled it - if you use a Passcode on your iPad.
Settings>General>Passcode Lock>On. Enter your Passcode. Then check to see if you disabled Picture Frame in the next window.

What happens to photos stored after 30 days on icloud?

Photos are deleted from PhotoStream in the cloud after 30 days, regardless of the number of photos stored there.
Once synced to your device, they will remain there indefinitely until you hit 1000 photos in the PhotoStream album on the phone, at which point the oldest photos will be deleted and newer photos will replace them.

  • HT1229 What happens to photos in an album in iPhoto on Mac when upgrading to Yosemite.

What happens to all the photos in iPhoto when upgrading to Yosemite.  My pictures are in an album to be made into a photobook with Shutterfly  or another service but it is not entirely ready to go. I would not want to loose this album, took me a long time to gather all these pictures (over 200) , edit them and write captions. I understand that Yosemite will eliminate iPhoto.  However, I want to know if they will delete iPhoto even if I do not upgrade as yet.

    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

  • What happened to photos file that used to show in Mountain Lion finder window?

Mountain Lion and earlier OS X systems used to have a Pictures (maybe it was Photos?) "folder" in the side menu of Finder windows. I recently upgraded to Mavericks and don't remember whether I saw it there or not (I didn't use it a lot, but it was very full of pictures I stored there). Then, I got a new computer and migrated to it from my Time Machine backups on an external drive (the old computer was totally damaged). This computer has Yosemite. My problem... There's no Pictures (Photos) "folder" in the Finder windows, and I can't find them anywhere. Help!!!!!!!!

What is in the side panel is just a shortcut.
The Pictures Folder is in your User Account. IN the Finder use the Go menu and paste this into the window
    ~/Pictures
and it will bring you there.

  • What happened to photo albums?

I have two sites that have photo albums.
I can play around with it no problem in iWeb, but when I publish and go to the site, the photo albums are gone.
I had these sites working just fine until the change over to Mobile me. Then the albums disappeared.
Nothing I do seems to help any.
Has anyone else had this problem, and if so, what can be done?
    Thanks

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you applied all the latest updates? Also try doing a *Publish All to MobileMe* and see if that won't jump start the album pages. And of course the usual clear your browser's cache routine.

  • What happened to Photo Stream?

After updating to ios8 the photo stream and camera roll albums are gone. I opened iCloud on my computer and it says the photo stream folder is empty (I backed up to iCloud and my computer before I updated). Many photos are visible from the collections area but this is inconvenient. Where is the photo stream and camera roll app?

This is not helpful.. What I am asking is.. Why is the photo stream and camera roll album removed from the album page? I have no way to access my old photos other than through the Photos tab which has them grouped by location and date. Also, I cannot access my photo stream photos on my computer.

  • What happen to photo descriptions?

I count on being able to add a description to a photo.. I can say who it is, where it was taken, or something important about the picture I want to remember. This new version, far as I can tell, and typical of apple developers, took out important useable items (or hid them?) and did what?
What is so good about this new iPhoto. (I still think I photo is a better description than just photo.)  I'm going back to my old library, because it was still better than this new one.

Descriptions are entered and viewed in Info window.  Select any thumbnail and type Command + i.
You can move the Info window to the side and keep it open as you scroll thru photos.

  • What happened to Photo Mail?

Why can't I find "Photo Mail" under the Share tab?

    Hi,
PSE13 has a whole new email workflow where you can use any account say gmail, yahoo and many more for sharing your files via email.
One change is the removal of Photo Mail from PSE13.
    Thanks,

  • What happened with photo stream with new update?

I have a iPhone 4s. I just downloaded the newest iOS 8 update. I do not have separate folders for my camera roll and photo stream. Are all my pictures now going to my photo stream? If so is there a way to choose which photos go to photo stream?

In iOS 8, Apple combined "camera roll and Photo Stream" into "recently added" folder.

  • HT6378 what happens to photo library photos when iphone is full

So, I want to add photos to my icloud library from another device. 159GB worth to be exact. If I use airdrop my ipad will fill up adn if I delete the photos from it it will delete them from the photo library, correct? So how do I do it. I know I can upload photos through clooud.beta but ti doesn't retain the image data (location, date)?

If I merge libraries and then back the merged libraries up onto an external drive or DVD, do I just back up the libraries themselves, or do I also back up the original files?
If you're running a Managed Library, then backing up the Library also backs up the original files.
I ask because my HDD is getting pretty full. I want to reduce the amount of stuff on it, and the iPhoto libraries are the biggest single consumer of space at the moment (Nearly 100GB).
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
    Regards
    TD
P.s. If you're running a Managed library, then it's the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing
If you're running a Referenced Library, then you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced and iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing.

  • What happens when photos of contacts don't sync

I have problems with contact photos. I can add them via the iPhone, but they don't appear on my iPad.
Also I can't seem to add/delete groups, and assigning contacts to those groups.

On all devices, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Contacts off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the Contacts data.

  • Apple TV - what happened to photo streaming?

We use (or we used to use) our Apple TV to stream photos from my computer (iPhoto library) to a TV in our kitchen.  The way we did this was to choose Computers, then my computer, then Photos.  It was set up to change photos every 5 seconds.
The Photos option no longer appears under Computer any more, since this week's Apple TV update.
Why did they take it away?  Can I get it back?
Message was edited by: Jim McDonough half a word.

As an update, after restarting the ATV, the Photos entry is back when I click on Computer.  But when I attempt to use it, it fails, eventually bringing me back to the main menu.
I can stream photos using the screen saver option, clicking Preview.  But using the Photos cannot load more than a few dozen photos at a time (a small album, for example).

  • What happens to photos I mark as 'Not so and so'

Just curious, when I mark a photo as 'not John Smith' does it then rethink that image and suggest it could be someone else? Or does it simply leave it unknown?
I've begun working my way through 30,000 images and I reckon about 30% of the suggested faces are correct, which means if the rest are going to be simply 'unknown' I'm going to be manually adding names for a very very long time.

Yes - it rethinks - as you reject iPhoto suggestions and as you accept them it fine tunes the search criteria - adding missing faces does not affect the criteria
But with 30,000 you still have a task ahead of you - I ended up adding a key word "face checked" for photos that I have looked at and done faces on - now I can use a smart album "keyword is not face checked" to go through items that iPhoto did not find faces -- and another one "face is unknown" for photos that iPhoto has found faces in but I have not identified them -- I added "face checked" to all faces on the corkboard and then moved forward - not have all 30,000 photos finished

  • What Happened to Photo Booth

When we first got the computer, the kids were taking pictures all of the time.
Now I asked them how come they do not do that anymore and they said it is
gone.  How do you find it and get it back?

They could have just deleted the shortcut on the dock.  Look in the applications folder or type Photobooth into spotlight. (The magnifying glass on the top right).

  • Camera profiles. /what happens when deleted

    Hello.
if you use the camera profiles (beta) that can be downloaded. What happens to photos that used such a profile in develop, if the profile where to be removed.
Like if you need to re-install LR, buy a new computer, an updated profile (non beta. etc etc.
i find the D2X mode3 (set down brightness a little and change green hue a bit) give good match to Capture NX style from my Nikon D50.
    /Walker

In the absence of your requested profile for an image, LR will use the first available profile. It's a current UI glitch that causes LR to show the blank Profile popup menu, but in fact it is using a profile specific to your camera (you'd know for sure if it wasn't: colors wouldn't be remotely close).
We plan to provide a smooth migration path for those who want to upgrade from beta profiles to final profiles once they're ready.
