What happened to quicktime Pro on my Macbook (ie. it is now useless)

Hi,
So upon completing a very simple imovie project (30s, 5 clips), I tried to 'share' it and save it as a decent sized quicktime file.
There are no video options avaliable under the expert settings....just audio setings! And, this happens no matter what resolution I choose to start my project (mp4-1080).
Can anyone explain this (apple?)
Is this due to me running imovie on my new Macbook?
further, even if I save the DV file, QUICKTIME PRO IS UNABLE TO EXPORT TO ANY SPECIFICATIONS OTHER THAN "email" and ".mac" (brutally small H264 andas the huge .DV file). As in Quicktime pro is useless.
What gives???
much thanks for all any help.
I'll be ahppy to provide any extra info as needed (screen captures if you don't believe me!)
Edit: I tried opening quictime under Rosetta -no dice..

You did not ruin the phone, you will need a sim card to activate the phone and then connect the phone to itunes and do a restore from back up.

Thanks for the help, Allan Sampson.
I updated itunes, shut the phone off and on, it still didn't give me blue bubbles. Kept following the suggestions on the page ...  I didn't know there was an IMessaging switch, but, shoot, it was OFF. Anyway, I toggled it on and now the text bubbles are blue again.

  • I bought a HD and the Itunes Stores say that the movie (Pretty Women) has Itunes Extras. Why I can not find it? It is a mistake from Apple? What happen if I buy the movie because the Extras and now I can not watch it? I have an Ipad last generation.

What version of iOS do you have on your iPad (Settings > General > About > Version), and is it connected to wifi ?
From Buy and play movies with iTunes Extras - Apple Support :
Here’s what you need to stream the new iTunes Extras:
Mac using OS X Mavericks v10.9.3 or later and iTunes 11.3 or later
PC using iTunes 11.3 or later
Apple TV (2nd and 3rd generation or later) using Apple TV software 6.2 or later
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iOS 8 or later (You need to connect to Wi-Fi. Extras won't appear if you're connected to a cellular network.)
    An active Internet connection
You can use the steps below on your Apple TV, Mac, PC, or iOS device for any purchased, HD movie that features Extras:
On your Apple TV, select Movies, then select your movie to see the Extras menu. Extras aren't available from the Computer tile on Apple TV (Home Sharing).
On your Mac or PC, open iTunes and go to the Movies section in your iTunes library. Double-click your movie. If there's no Internet connection, the Extras menu will be skipped. The movie will immediately play if you already downloaded it.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap the Videos app, then tap your movie. If you're connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi, the Extras menu will appear.

  • What formats will Quicktime Pro play

I just installed Quicktime Pro on Win XP, and I can't get it to open any format, including wmv! Is there any video format that Quicktime will open without buying their MPEG2 codec?

This page includes a list of formats that QT will open.
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/specs.html
Note, however, that some of those formats are container formats that can have content compressed with many different compression formats and specific decompressors may be needed to be able to play a given file. This is especially true of avi and mov formats. If a file does not play then try opening MovieInfo in the Windows menu to see what compression was used. You may need to then search the internet for a decompressor for the file.
QT does not open wmv files, The mpeg2component is only used for playback of mpeg2 files so don't buy it unless you want to play that format in QT Player.

  • What happened to the Pro Tips page on the Apple site

There used to be a Pro Tips page on the Apple site with useful tips and shortcuts. I just noticed it in no longer accessible. Does any one know what happened to it? Does it have a new URL? The old URL is http://www.apple.com/pro/tips/

iToy users don't need tips. Just point and finger-wag. No thinking, just doing is the new paradigm.

  • What happened to Dayi Pro input?

I'm a Chinese speaker and need to use the Dayi Pro input method on both Mac's and PC's. Dayi Pro is extremely common in my home country of Taiwan where most people use this method (perhaps they don't on mainland Chinese, I don't know).
Anyway, after the Mac OS updated to 10.7 Dayi Pro has disappeared completely and I'm now unable to type Chinese at all. I still have a computer running 10.5 and can type on that but it's not my main computer and thus a real pain in the backside.
I've just literally updated my main computer to 10.8 in the hope that Dayi Pro would magically reappear but low and behold it hasn't.
Any suggestions on why this was removed or any alternatives? I really need the same input method otherwise it requires me to relearn how to type in Chinese.
    Thanks
    Liv

Nobody here can tell you anything about why Apple does things.  For alternatives, look at the Chinese Mac site and ask in the forum attached to it.

  • What happens to Acrobat Pro that I already owned when I cancel my subscription?

I already owned Acrobat Pro X when I joined. My membership ends in three weeks and I have cancelled my subscription effective on that date. It appears that my Acrobat upgraded when I joined. What will happen to it once my subscription closes? Will I need to reinstall it?

    Hi Cynthia,
If you already have the version of Acrobat Pro X installed in your machine, you can continue using it else you will need to install it and activate.

  • What happens to QT Pro 7.5.5 if I install QT 7.6.4?

    Hello!
I have an iMac 3GHz with OS 10.5.5 running. (I cannot upgrade to Snow Leopard due to Pro Tools incompatibility, FYI.) I installed iTunes 9 b/c I wanted to download a movie and iTunes 8 wouldn't allow it. But I did not realize all the other installations that would be forced upon me!
So, I would like to install QT 7.6.4. I currently am using QT 7.5.5 PRO.
If I install 7.6.4 (downloaded from the Apple site for free), will I lose the PRO capabilities? I don't want to but PRO again, I just bought it recently!
Many apologies if this has already been addressed. (I tried to search for a discussion on this point on the Discussion boards but the necessary search terms are too general to be of use.)

If I install 7.6.4 (downloaded from the Apple site for free), will I lose the PRO capabilities?
No. The key you bought is valid in all versions of QuickTime 7.

  • What happened to Quicktime use on FACEBOOK? Now everything sent to FLASH (which, of course, won't work) on iPad?

I used to be able to play videos that I made & posted on my Wall (on Facebook). When you tapped on them, you'd see the Quicktime "Q" briefly show up and the video would play right there on your Wall. Now, all videos are directed to another page that indicates the need for FLASH which we all know WON'T work on an iPad!? What changed? And why? Or am I missing something - or doing something wrong? Do I need to make any setting changes on the iPad?

  • HT5128 What happened to Adobe Photoshop on PowerPC (Macbook)?

    I have Macbook and Adobe Photoshop was installed when I bought it.  But recently, I am not able to open this application and it says;
"You can not open the application "Adobe Photoshop CS.app" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported."
How shall I solve this situation?
Which app might replace with photoshop?
I upgraded my Macbook to Mountain Lion, to get better, but loosing something which was working is not that good.

Here is a post that I assembled for a similar question:
Unfortunately you got caught up in the minor miracle of Rosetta.  Originally licensed by Apple when it migrated from the PowerPC CPU platform that it had used from the mid-1990's until the Intel CPU platform in 2006, Rosetta allowed Mac users to continue to use their library of PPC software transparently in emulation.
However, Apple's license to continue to use this technology expired with new releases of OS X commencing with Lion (and now Mountain Lion).  While educational efforts have been made over the last 6 years, the fact is that Rosetta was SO successful that many users were caught unaware UNTIL they upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Workarounds:
    1. If your Mac will support it, restore OS X Snow Leopard;
    2.  If your Mac will support it, partition your hard drive or add an external hard drive and install Snow Leopard into it and use the "dual-boot" method to choose between your PowerPC software or Lion/Mt. Lion;
    3.  Upgrade your software to Intel compatible versions [check with Adobe for an updated version of Photoshop], or find alternative software that will open your data files;
    3.  Install Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels:
Full Snow Leopard installation instructions here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1365439
NOTE: STEP ONE of the instructions must currently be completed on a Snow Leopard or Lion Mac and the resulting modified Snow Leopard.cdr install file can then be moved over to your Mountain Lion Mac for completion of the remaining steps.
NOTE 2:  Computer games with complex, 3D or fast motion graphics make not work well or at all in virtualization.

  • What happened to QuickTime Vid Controls?

Under Window>Show AV Controls, the controller shows up, but the video sliders-- bright, color, contrast and tint, are greyed.
This doesn't have to be a QT PRO feature; it was available under Tiger.

    I'm sure.
I figured I'd dl the latest QT. It wouldn't install on any of my volumes which is strange because only one of them is Leopard, the rest are still Tiger. Even when choosing a Tiger volume, I'm told that this version isn't compatible with this OS; I need an earlier version of OSX. Weird.
Not really a big deal, but it should work.

  • What happened - lost connectivity on ipad and MacBook Air!

I have lost connectivity to my Ipad and MacBook Air.  The 3G and Wifi signals are strong on my Ipad, but no internet. The wifi signal is strong on my MacBook.

Did you find a solution to this issue? My brand new Air has the same problem. My iMac, iPhone 4 and iPad all use the same time capsule network with no drop of Internet. My air is showing full strength wifi signal but it loses the Internet connection every 5 minutes or so, and reconnects after 3 or 4 minutes with no help from me.
