What happened to reset safari
I downloaded the new Yosemite software and do not see under Safari reset safari what happened to this feature? I used this sometimes when i got locked up and would like to see where it is if someone knows were it is please advise.I am currently using version 8 in safari.

Apple removed the "Reset Safari" menu option from Safari 8.
In it's place there is "Clear History and Website Data".

What happened to safari/internet? I don't really know whether the problem is with my safari OR internet, but this thing suddenly just popped out of nowhere, at first it didn't really bother me.. But this thing has been annoying now, it will popped out around once every few minutes and it won't stop.. Can somebody help me?
Thank you in advanceI don't actually understand much about these kinds of things, so I don't really know.. But now my first problem had turn into something, well how to put it.. it's not something worse but more annoying than before..
The problem is that, every time I open a new page or websites, it will always stop midway.. some are not even midway through which means the page is not "fully loaded". it will stop there, for "minutes or maybe even forever", and I realise that in order to fully open the page, I need to refresh the pages a couple of times until it is "fully loaded".
At first, I thought maybe it's the internet, but then I learned that when I open videos for example "Youtube", the buffer is very smooth, as fast as always. But to open the "Youtube", I need to refresh my page a couple of times. So, the conclusion that I have is, the problem only affects me when I first open a new page, but when the page is already "fully loaded", it's just as smooth as ever...
Is this normal? I mean, is this only a temporary internet problem? OR is there something wrong with my computer/safari? -

Before Lion Safari used to have a nice little piece of functionality in the Status Bar. Before I ask, let me explain what *didn't* change. Still functioning in the status bar is notification that the link you're hovering over wil open up in a new tab (or window based on your settings). See the image here

What *is not* happening anymore is this notification when you would like to open a link in a new tab (that otherwise would not) by holding down the command key. For example, you are on yahoo.com hovering over a link to an article. If you leave your mouse pointer over that link and then hold the command key down, the "in a new tab" note at the end of the URL in the status bar doesn't show up. This also worked for holding down the option key (download) and holding shift+command (in a new tab behind the current one).
I hope I am explaining this correctly, let me know if not.

alright here is the issue. For some reason the videos in my safari have messed up. I have the current safari fully updated. Everytime i try to play a quicktime movie you can hear audio but you cannot see video, the search bar that should be at the bottom goes to the mid point of where the video should be. On the flip side now Windows Media Files are playing in my browser. I have not downloaded anything to add to safari or tried to change it in anyway, it just started happening. Any tips on trying to fix it?? thanks oh and i have the most current OSX

Assuming you already run OS 10.4.9 or above and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:

In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not. -
What happened to my Safari Bookmarks on my iPad?
Just went to Bookmarks in Safari on my iPad, and discovered there were only a few basic bookmarks left, like Apple, etc. all of my custom bookmarks are gone. I have done nothing new to my iPad since I last referenced a bookmark. I see no settings which would affect this. So what's going on here?
My iPhone still retains all of my custom bookmarks as does my Mac. Everything is synced with iCloud, and all of the bookmarks are there too.
So why did my iPad suddenly delete them?See if this brings them back.
Quit Safari completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -
What happened to my Safari Extensions?

Am using Safari 6.0.5, suddenly my Yahoo mail account won't keep me logged in and the 'keep me logged in' button has disappeared. It is still there on Chrome so am assuming it is a Safari issue. It just happened suddenly. Have reset Safari, cache and also changed my Yahoo password but problem is still there.
I still don't understand what the problem that you are experiencing is. If you get to a page where yahoo is asking JUST for your password, and there is no box for username (it may have your username displayed, but not in a enter box), then you ARE "being kept signed in" You can verify this by instead of entering your password, go to www.yahoo.com home page, and it will say something like "Hi, Amber" This means you ARE signed in.
When you get that page asking for just your password, you are NOT being asked to sign in again. You are simply being asked to verify/enter your assword an Nth time. If you get that page right after entering your username and password, try clicking the "back" (previous page) button. It might just go to your inbox.
If this is the case, your problem has nothing to do with being kept signed in or not, the problem is that for some (unknown to me) reason, yahoo is asking you to re-enter your password, kind of like when your mac asks for your mac password when changing system settings. Yahoo does this as a safety feature when you go to account settings, and apparently abritary other times. I wish I understood just why I get it every time after signing in.
It could be because I have java turned off. It could be because I don't accept third party cookies. Maybe a cache file. Or a hundred other things... I don't know. It could simply be yahoo is scrooing safari users. I have glanced at the html, but to really understand it, it would take me days. There are over 25 places where username and password are in the html "source" code of the yahoo login page, and even understanding that may not tell me. In the past, I have seen code essentiall saying "if IE x.3.2" do this, if chrome do that, if mozilla do something else, otherwise make it next to impossible...."
My problem is not only I get asked for my assword a second time, but also (and only very recently) I do not get a prompt to save username and pasword. I have gone to yahoo help pages to try to figure it out, and I feel like I just run in circles. If one wants to send a question in, they have to answer half a dozen questions disclosing private information. And I pay yahoo $20/year. grrr
If when you are trying to access your yahoo mail and you are being asked to enter both your username and password, but didn't sign out of yahoo, then indeed your are not being "kept signed in" -

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset network connections.

I've been researching how unwanted spyware can impact personal iphone usage. I understand - First iphone must've had a JailBreak happen then a spyware app downloaded, installed and activated for iphone to be compromised but no one has described how to determine IF your iphone HAS suffered an unwanted JailBreak attack or worse. (1) How can you determine if an unwanted JailBreak has actually happened to your iphone? Also, icons for the spyware can be hidden and the best advice I obtained to remove unwanted hidden apps completely was by doing a thorough cleaning using the reset to "Factory Settings" option. No doubts would exist after that cleansing. So going back to factory settings made sense to me until now. Formerly, I had no iCloud account with my previous iphone and now I do. My new upgraded iPhone, MacBook Pro and now my new Mini iPad are now linked together in my new iCloud account. If I were to do a reset to factory settings option then my best "guess" is that the unwanted hidden apps would be removed from my iCloud account too... WHEN... I did a clean backup with my reset cleaned device(s). (2) Is that reset cleaned device(s) backup scenario true? (3) What happens to my iCloud account when the "factory settings option" is activated and how are the linked devices unitedly impacted?
iCloud does not store your apps in any case. The App Store simply recognizes that you have purchased the app in the past and allows you to re-download it onto any device which is signed into the same iTunes account. If you've managed to get an app on your iPhone by some other means then it is only on that one device. A Jailbreak can only happen if you initiated it yourself (unless the phone was second-hand, of course).

Ok I am really a new user of Mac so here is my problem when I bring up Safari and I go over to the Help word on the top of the screen to find a question when I pick a question and the window comes up there is a blank window nothing is there the help boxes work on my other Apps so whats wrong. Help
Could you please give us a picture of what is going on. This is a picture of what the top of Safari looks like when I go to the Help menu. I typed in the word cache and a number of options appeared below. Is this not happening for you?

Hot to gain space back in a tablespace after purging
Hi, We are Oracle Apps shop running 11.5.0.2 and DB on 11.2.02 Some of our tablespaces are about 90% full. I can always add dataifles to it, but before that, I purged a lot of old WF data (almost 3 M rows). But my tablespace is still showing me 90 %.
