What happened to save as cs6

I have AE CC 13 and the File > Save as CS6 option is no longer an option. This is a pretty critical component to my workflow... any ideas?

CC and CC 14 are just a different as CS6 and CC or AE 5.0 and 5.5. Every release utilizes new features that are not supported in previous versions. Also, the release notes are specific concerning previous versions. I'm not saying that I would not appreciate a save as CS6 option in CC 14, but it is not there and not likely to return. You could always get on the Feature Request list. Changes to features are a democratic process. The more votes the more likely things will change. I'm not a software engineer so I can't tell you how difficult this would be to implement but I can guarantee that it would take more work than the way it is now.

In Pages, In the past, I was able to edit a template and "save a version" to update the template. Now i have to rename the template to save the changes. Why is this happening? what happen to "save a version"? its no longer an option under "file". And I can no longer open the actual template, when template is clicked, it automaticaly opens an "untitled" version???

In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.
The incoherent half baked stumbling juggernaut has reached new triumphs with its edict on enforced Sandboxing on developers when it is unable to follow even its own instructions.

  • What happened to "Save As" for pdfs in Lion?

What happened to "Save As" for pdfs in Lion? Now there's "Save a Version" which doens't appear to do anything, and Duplicate, which seems redundant...
How is this new approach saving me time?

    It's not, but it's Apple.
Apple's approach with its Versions and Autosave features is to do away with the need to Save As altogether since the system's default "Save" feature already does this.
As you make changes to a document, the system should continuously save all prior versions of it automatically, and you should be able to access these at any time and then duplicate it to continue working. In this way, the system is to an extent always performing "Save As" commands and leaving prior versions in the past, so instead of proactively saving a new copy to preserve your current layout, this layout should exist as-is which you can go to by browsing the saved versions, and then duplicating to a new document to continue working if needed.

  • What happened to "SAVE AS" in pages & numbers?

What happened to "SAVE AS" in pages & numbers?

    mende1
That will only work in Mountain Lion not Lion.
    stuffaz
Apple introduced Auto Saving in Lion along with Versions and removed Save As from the menu.
Menu > File > Duplicate > Save the duplicate with new name
does much the same thing as Save as.

  • What happened to Save As RTF?

What happened to Save As RTF? I don't find it in FM8, though it is mentioned in several places in the online help. I hear it's not in FM9, either.

It's at the bottom of the drop-down list for the SaveAs options:
    It's also still in FM9 & FM10.

  • What happened to "Save As"?

Good grief - what on Earth happened to "Save As"? Why is saving a file under a different name now involve several confusing steps? I suppose this is just a complaint so there is no technical fix except revert to a previous OS. But what the heck? Why take such a simple and perfectly functional concept and screw it all up? They must be very bored in the Mountain Lion department at Apple....
I am referring specifically to Text Edit, but I've seen this with other applications like Pages too I think.
Do I now "Duplicate" the file, then "Rename" it? Or do I just "Rename it"? When you Duplicate and Rename, then Save the file, it doesn't prompt you for a location or file format. So do you then "Move To" the file? How do you change the format? This is absolutely ridiculous... A perfectly simple and workable process, ruined.
Can someone please educate me on how to now properly "Save As"? Thank you.

    Hi there,
Hold down the "ALT" key when in the "File" menu and you will see "Save As".  Then it all works almost as simple as before.

  • What happens to my installed CS6 Master Suite apps with CC?

    Hi -
This line of questioning may be the product of a suspicious mind but - what happens to my investment of Adobe applications when I subscribe to CC?
Will they be overwritten or deactivated?
If I'm in a situation where I have no access to the Cloud, will I be able to use my installed Master Suite CS6 applications seamlessly?  What Adobe apps WOULD I be able to use if I have no connectivity?
    Thanks.
    JL

Jlucchesi your CS6 Master Collection license will continue to be applied to your currently installed software.  If you decided to download and install additional CS6 software then you can apply your Creative Cloud license to those newly installed CS6 applications.
If you are annual subscriber then it is only necessary for you to be online once every 99 days to verify your active subscription for your desktop products.

  • What happened to 'save as' command in Pages?

I recently upgraded my Mac OS to Mavericks along with upgraded iWork software.  The 'new' Pages software appears to missing the 'Save As' command in the File menu. This is creating a major problem for me.  What happened to the 'Save As' command, and what do I use to accomplish the same thing in the newer Pages software that is missing the 'Save As' command?

  • What happened to multicam in CS6???

Time for a new Multicam edit in Premeiere, this time in CS6.
I've got everythiogn all synched in a sequence, using Plural Eyes.  It seems that I cannot create a multicam edit target sequence.
I've been looking at tutoriaals and everything I see shows how to synch in the project panel using somee type of synching method: timecode, markers on clappers, etc.
What do I do if I uswed PE and everything is thus ready in a sequence and ready to go?
    Thanks

  • What happened to Save As in Preview?

How do I change a png file to a jpg file, easily?

Ahhh. You're right. Export does not keep the document open.
Not only that ... File > Open Recent does not list the file. Which I suppose is correct, since I've never opened it.
Bring back Save As ... (or put the functionality into Duplicate or whatever)
Honestly, what's the point? I bet (and I posted this question) that Save As ... has been around a long, long time. I'd guess that if you looked across all applications, all OS's, all time, Save As ... would be number 5 on the list of most used features.
Save As ... probably only got beaten out by:
    Power
    Boot
    Open
    Save
    Sheesh.

  • What happened to save as in the latest pages?

How can I save my Pages documents in a particular location? It was so simple in the previous version of Pages. Ever hear of 'if it's not broken don't fix it'?

Apple has fixed it. The "fix" is to upgrade to Mountain Lion.
If you originally installed iWork from the retail box you can go back. First, you need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user. Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his box.com account in for_iWork'09 > other_iWork'09 items > uninstall iWork '09.zip. Then you need to manually download the iWork 9.0.5 updater & apply it.

  • I know there has been a very long discussion about 'what happened to save as' but...

Hi I still can't see from spending (wasting) hours trawling through all the posts how to easily execute File, Save as, then choose my file location. I am not a techy person and reading all the posts has simply confused me! I am a normal excell user, who loves Mac products so thought I would buy the iwork package for home use. It certainly has some great features that are superior to excell etc but this simple procedure of saving files is making me regret my purchase.
Even the Mac video tuorial also tells you to go to File/ Save as - if this isn't the case, then Mac should update the video tutorials at the same time they change a feature like this, that is so fundamental to working and saving your files.
Anyway... can someon please, pretty please, just provide me the key strokes to save a file to a location I choose - it could be three or four folders/ sub folders down the line.
thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Save As is gone from :
    iBooks Author
    Keynote
    Numbers
    Pages
    Preview
    TextEdit.
I listed only applications delivered by Apple.
Those available in Mac App Store in the list entitled  "Apps enhanced for OSX Lion" are supposed to drop it too.
Those offerering an optional Save As aren't embedded in this list but may be in this store (GraphicConvert for instance).
    Surprizing enough :
GarageBand and Xcode have a Save As feature.
I don't know for other Apple apps available in this list but would be glad to know if they have a Save As menu item.

  • What happened to the photoshop cs6?

I have been trying to find it but can't

Still in same place.  Either subsciption or licence purchase.

  • What happens to CS6 License after purchasing CC

We recently purchased an Adobe CS6 product and we are thinking of upgrading to CC for one of our staff. What happens to the old CS6 license if we upgrade? Can we still install the CS6 suite on another computer with the license it came with, or does it become null and void?

@Promofuse, as you were having CS6 subscription earlier then you auto upgraded to Creative Cloud subscription.
So you now replaced by CC subscription(single license) as auto migration.
However, using Creative Cloud subscription you can still install CS6 on same two desktop machines where you have already activated subscription(no additional machine).
Please refer following article which explain how to install CS6 applications using Creative Cloud.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/download-previous-versions-creative-applications. html
Regarding your question if you had bought CS6 as full suite package(rather than the subscription)
then you need to purchase the Creative Cloud subscription separately(you could choose special offer for discounted price on the basis of CS6) but you will not auto upgraded as in case of CS6 subscription.
Hereby, in this scenario you now have CS6 license of full suite package and CC subscription(each with activation).

  • PS CS6 - What happened to Page Setup?

Please help - I'm about to bang my head on the desk in complete frustration, and it shouldn't be this difficult!!
What happened to Page setup in CS6?  I'm trying to print a document with canvas size 11x17.  When I try to print, the media box is listed at 8.5x11.  There is no obvious way to change it, and Page Setup is no longer in the file menu, or on the dialog box.
    Here's a video demonstrating my attempts - http://screencast.com/t/n5Uuae3zSzTc
    Please help!!!!
    Many thanks.

Change the page size in print settings. But some printer drivers require that you save custom print sizes as a preset before they'll tell the application about the custom page size (lame, but that's printer drivers for ya).
