What happened to "Songs you May Like" in my sidebar?

I used to play a song in Itunes and it would show songs like that song in my right hand sidebar. Now it's just got PING. I turned off ping. How do I get the genius sidebar back? I discovered a lot of good songs that way.

How to stop "FROM AROUND THE WEB" and "You May Like" from coming up on each page that I browse

It is very frustrating when I am on Mozilla looking at various websites and on each page that I go to either "FROM AROUND THE WEB" or "You May Like" come up in the middle of the page with links to other websites that I am not interested in viewing.
Also when I am shopping on the internet another pop up called Deals, brought by iWebar keeps popping up and also "Deals" by Deal Finder. I did not change any of my settings, I only updated Mozilla Firefox and then all of these things started happening. This is very frustrating and I want to know how to turn this off. I did not sign up for any of these things, and want to be advised on how to remove them.
Could you please advise how to stop these as I really do not want these options as I am browsing and I will go back to Internet Explorer if this continues to happen. I look forward to hearing from you promptly. Thank you

You should always pay attention when installing software because often, a software installer includes optional installs, such as this adware. Be very careful what you agree to install. 
Adware gets on your computer after you have installed a freeware software (video recording/streaming, download-managers or PDF creators) that had bundled into their installation this browser hijacker.
You can use the below steps to revert back to adware-less Firefox.
1) Reset Prefs
*Navigate to '''about:config''' in your Address Bar
*Press the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to proceed
*Search for iWebar and reset all prefs that pull up by right clicking > Reset
2) Remove any programs that you don't recognize or remember installing from your Control Panel (Start > Control Panel > Uninstall a Program)
3) Remove any extensions that you don't recognize or remember installing from Firefox.
*(Press the menu button ([[Image:new fx menu]] > Add-ons > Extensions)
4) Download ADW Cleaner to wipe out any remnants of the adware.

What happened? Songs converted to other. . .

I have a 60gb video ipod, software version 1.1, running itunes 7 on windows XP. Never really had anyproblems. Have not installed new software or itunes to keep it that way. Bought a few songs on itunes last nightight and plugged in my ipod to download them. In the itunes status box it said something about analyzing songs for gap playback. . . it took some time. Then I went to play my ipod today and all my songs (1477) were gone. It shows my storage is approx 6 gb in other, nothing under audio or video. Can someone please tell me what happened? I am sure it said update complete and I did not unplug too early. ???

In most cases it will be a one time thing for the whole library, as songs are added they will be checked for gapless playback going forward.
If you turn off crossfade in the iTunes playback preferences, iTunes will try to play the songs gaplessly. This means iTunes will use the information from the analyzing gapless playback step to try and skip silence at the beginning and end of song files. Crossfade tries to overlap them some, similiar to how a radio station or live DJ might.
Some iPod models also support gapless playback as well.

What happens exactly when you turn off your Wi-Fi?

I was wondering, for the sake of knowing it, what exactly happens when you turn off the Wi-Fi of a Mac? I normally turn it off before putting it to sleep, because there have been some ocassions where after waking up, the Wi-Fi is on but not working. So I was thinking, what exactly happens with the radio when the computer goes to sleep or it's turned off.
* Is it bad to turn off "hard" your Wi-Fi?
* Is it bad to keep turning on and off the Wi-Fi?
I think that it may have to be something about a Wi-Fi service, but I simply don't know nor found any answer on the Internet.

When your Mac goes to sleep, the wifi is automatically turned off. When you wake the Mac up, your wifi will turn back on and hopefully will reconnect a short time later.
The purpose of Sleep is to save on energy, so wifi will be shutdown, as it is a significant energy drain.

What happened to songs on ipod ?

I just got my ipod downloaded apple store and put songs on my ipod, but had over 96 songs on that my brother had put on for me from his computer. Now they are gone?

I have no idea what that means, but if those 96 songs on your iPod were not in your own iTunes library and you synced your iPod, then they were deleted.
If there are songs on your iPod that are not in your library, then whenever you sync it, they are deleted from the iPod and replaced with whatever is currently in your iTunes.

What happens to songs that could be matched in the iTunes Store? Do they get replaced by the iTunes Store's version?

I haven´t quite understood how iTunes Match works like.
And I am wondering why only 30 out of my 600 songs now have this iCloud symbol next to it.
Anyway, what I expected iTunes Match to be is that it would give me the iTunes Store's versions of all my CD-imported songs...

What happens exactly when you buy a phone from a third party?

My contract is going to end this month and I have a $50 gift card to Best buy. I already posted up a question but for this post I want to know exactly what will I get and what will I won't get.
I'm hoping to buy a Droid Incredible or a Droid X2 or a Droid 3. (Have any reviews about one, two, or all of them? if you can please type them up... I already read reviews from the webpage and on google but you know more reviews are better)
So first of all, I want to get the Droids from Bestbuy... I want to. Not I have to. Otherwise, I can get a phone in a nearby Verizon store. (And I know that sometimes third party stores are bad and this one person said she got hers from walmart. But a lot of technology from walmart is bad. Bestbuy is a lot better in having better condition, quality, etc technology.)
Will I get warranty/insurance from Bestbuy?
Can I do a little demo or something like that as I search through Bestbuy's phones?
Do I get like a return guarantee or something like that if I don't like it?
If there are other things that I will get or won't get, please state what they are
Finally, I've been asking specific questions about updating but since none of them apply to me, I want to know what I am eligible for.
For a brief description: I had an LG EnV 3 but I lost that one and instead of buying a new phone, I just traded my mom's old phone (which was broken so she got a new, same type phone that she graciously gave me). And according to the employee there, when I traded phones, I was still eligible in upgrading to a new phone... Anyway, my mom's actual phone (not the one that I have) is the first line on the family plan. I will ugprade my phone when my two year contract expires.

If you are referring to cutting a clip in the project window, select one or more frames in the clip and use the "Split Clip" Edit menu option to divide the clip into 2 or 3 segments.

Use the "slider" beneath the "Project" and "Event" windows to scale the "pseudo" timeline between display of the entire clip as a single clip icon to fully expanded 0.5 second icon segments. When fully expanded, individual frames can be selected with the the entire icon segment displaying the individual frame under the current "playhead" position. Adjusting the display scale and moving through the window along the vertical axis allows you to scrub/select frame ranges quickly while moving along the horizontal axis allows you to scrub/select frame ranges more slowly.

Computer Crashed What Happens to Songs on my Nano

My computer crashed and I brought it in to be fixed. I paid extra money to have my music, photos, documents put onto a disk. When I got my computer back only 35 out of 300 songs were on it. I was able to load those songs into the ITunes library. If I plug my Nano into ITunes will I lose all the other 265 songs that are currently on the Nano? I set Itunes to not automatically sync. I do not really care if those songs are in my library I just want them saved on the Nano. Also will I be able to add new songs?

What happened to the (podcasts) downloads progress option on sidebar?

Got my Sidebar back but when I hit refresh to get the latest podcasts, the option to click on Downloads on the sidebar no longer appears!
This was a great feature since you could see exactly what was most recent...now I have to go thru everything?? Yipes - I've got about 100 podcasts and no way to scroll thru them to see the latest. Help!

Is there a Maximum number of songs you can have in iTunes library?

I have reached what I believe to be the Maximum number of songs that iTunes will allow. That number is 37,562 songs. Since reaching this plateau I have since split my iTunes library into two seperate libraries using the program Libra but am wondering what happened to all the songs I either downloaded off my own CDs or purchased from the iTunes store after I reached that maximum number. It's not a matter of hard drive space as I was originally told by several Apple Employees...I have a Terabyte drive that I have my libraries going to that has over 700GB still free. I'm concerned that songs may have been deleted and wonder how I found out which ones were deleted or what happened to songs as I reached the 37,562 level and continued to add songs until I finally realized that the song count wasn't going any higher. I am on a Mac, using a G4 desktop under MacOSX 10.4.8. Any help would be appreciated...Tks

Vanishing Firewire drive - anyone know what happened?

The power went out for a moment earlier today, and when it went back on (and I rebooted) my external firewire drive did not mount.
I turned everything off, waited a couple of hours - same thing. I repaired permissions - nothing. Finally, I moved the input into the other firewire port, and the drive mounted and everything works again.
Anyone have any idea what happened here? I'd like to think the machine just got confused somehow and wouldn't mount rather than something nasty happening to the firewire port. Thanks

So have you tested the Firewire port to which the drive was originally connected? Is it OK now? Or is it dead?
You posted a similar story about a "disappearing" firewire drive back on 4 MAY 2006. Is this the same drive? Did you resolve the previous problem? Have you spoken with Tech Support?

Can no longer get chat on Facebook. What happened? MacBook went out same time?

Not sure what happened, but have you tried holding the sleep and home buttons until an apple apprears? This may restart your ipad.
If that doesn't get it going, you can take it to an apple store for an expert to test/fix as needed.

What happens when an analyze table is terminated/killed?

Just curious if a rollback occurs to the old statistics, are they corrupted, removed completely, or other?

I think the operation will get reversed (rollback) if a table analyze was interrupted and the status of previous statistics may become stale.
Why don't you try it and let us know what happens? If you can't let me know, I will try it tomorrow and let you know :)
