What happened to the end call and answer button

When you are on a call and someone else calls in, there used to be an option for end call adn answer. Now there is ignore, hold call and answer, end, send message and some other option, but no "end call and answer". Any help??

This seems to be GSM (AT&T) vs CDMA (Verizon) issue, not an Apple h/w or iOS issue.

I used to be w/ AT&T, and recently switched to Verizon for LTE+iP5, and lack of this option (end call and answer) drives me nuts. But, one learns to live with it, until someone at Verizon decided to do something about it.

I have to push the "end call" or "answer" button multiple times in order to answer or disconnect from a call

Whenever I receive a call, I push "answer" and it just stays there. It stops ringing, but doesn't complete the answering process. I push again, and it may or may not connect. Usually a third time and it will connect. Same when I hang up. I usually just have to wait for the other person to disconnect.

That's the Voice Over Feature.
Tap the Settings icon once to select it and then Double Tap on the Settings icon to activate it.
Use 3 fingers to scroll down to General, tap it once again to select it, and then twice to activate it.
Again use 3 fingers to scroll down to Accessibility, again tap once to select, then twice to activate.
Tap on Voice Over once to select it, and twice to actvate it and then tap once on Voice Over, and then tap twice to turn it off.

This is a necessity for many insitutional wi-fi networks.
I cannot connect to wi-fi at work now.

Settings > Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi : ON and Ask to Join Networks : ON

Using the new Call and Chat buttons

This is really not a Mac issue, even though I use a Mac. It is a general issue regarding the use of the new Call and Chat buttons in web sites and HTML signatures,
I was using the so called "legacy" buttons, both on my home web site as well as in my HTML signature. Sometime a few days ago they stopped working altogether. I checked the Internet and I saw the post that Skype has discontinued their use and insteasd we would have to use the new Call and Chat buttons that work via a generated script.
This is fine, but I am having two issues here:
1) When I include the script on my web site, the Call image always goes on a line by itself. What I want is to have it on the same line with some other social media like images, such as Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. I could do this with the old legacy images but not with this new one.
2) How can I have now this functionality in an HTML signature? I can't put a script there.

As far as I know, you can't change it: first, your photo is probably a .jpg and iMovie will be adapting it to a video file which will result in somewhat of a loss of quality and second, if your original picture is small, it cannot be enlarged without significant loss of quality as it will get blurry while the individual pixels are being made larger - that depends on your camera settings and its photo output size. So it could be either or both of those that is the problem here. Check your camera and see what size you are taking your pictures in.

What happened to The Daily Show and Colbert Report in iTunes Store?

I was looking on iTunes today and couldn't find ANY recent episodes of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart available for download and couldn't purchase the 04/07/09 episode or another earlier episode I put on my "wish list". The same thing seems to be happening with The Colbert Report. Was there an announcement by iTunes that the shows are no longer going to be available or are they in the middle of updating their content? Why aren't older episodes available for download?

Okay, for some reason, I tried this yesterday at least six times and it did not even change the settings. Today, I went into the Import Settings and changed it to mp3 encoder, hit 'OK', then hit 'OK' in the preference menu (same thing I did yesterday) and it suddenly decided to show up. That was weird... Sorry, but thanks for writing anyway. I don't know what happened...

What happened to the youtube app and why does my ipod keep crashing?

I updated my ipod touch 4g to iOS 6.0 and what happened to the youtube app? And why does my ipod keep on crashing when ever I go to the app store? Now i can never buy anything!!! or watch youtube videos and I'm always on youtube!!!!!!!!

As has been very well publicized in the news and all over the internet and forums, youtube is not part of ios 6. Google it.
You can get the app from the app store if you like.
Have you tried the basics from the manual to stop the crashing?

What happens at the end of a UK 18 month contract?

Hi,
I haven't called into an O2 store for a while so I thought i'd see if anyone knew the answer offhand...
What happens when my 18 month contract runs out in May 09'? I assumed that I could pick up one of the PAYG iPhone sims (or use my existing sim) and it would be as straightforward as that. However I read somewhere that the US versions become deactivated at the end of a contract and you will only be able to use them as an iPod Touch...
Anyone clear this up?

Good stuff, I don't know where I read that about deactivating iPhones... maybe the tutorial on the Apple website telling you how to set your iPhone up as an iPod Touch after you contract finished kinda suggested that it became deactivated.

What happened to the free alternative and Latino music on iTunes?

I don't see the free alt or Latino music offerings this week. What gives, iTunes?

We're not the iTunes Store here, so we have no more idea that you do. What free content the iTunes Store offers varies from week to week, and apparently this week they didn't decide (or were unable to license) any Latino or Alternative content for free.

What happened to the "save tabs and close" feature? I loved that!

Firefox v3.x gave me the option to close with several tabs open and save them data so it would reopen to those same tabs. I can't find a way to ask FF4 to do the same thing. :-(

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

I think it is a shame for a company this large and world wide not to have live people to TALK to on the phone to help with issue instaed you have to type in to a computer . What happen to the personal touch and caring for your consumers it is SO frustrat

I don't understand why your company would not want to be customer freindly and helpful , If i wou;d have known there wwas no way of communicating with you other than typing i would not have purchased any of the ipod items we own . I think you should be ashame for your company for not adding a personal touch not every one is conputor savy and do make mistakes when typing but nno one in your company will help unless i chat online i don't always have time to do this and it makes me upset and angery when i have to talk to a computor instead of a live person I hanve talked to pple representive 2 were very freindly i was a complete A## and very rude i don,t understand how your company grows with bad attitueds and taking so long to respond back to you .I wish i could find another brand that did what the the ipod does andd i would toss mine for it .

First, please understand that you're not communicating with Apple when you post in these forums. Everyone here, with rare and limited exceptions, is just a fellow user.
If you want help directly from Apple with a technical problem with an iPod, you can either visit an Apple Store, if there's one near you, or you can call Apple tech support. You can find a list of phone numbers for Apple support for the various countries here:

If you are referring to problems with the iTunes Store, then as is common with most if not all download stores, Apple only provides technical support via email. I presume that they find it not to be cost-effective to provide phone support for such small purchases.

What happened to the app called "APPLETS"?

So I am trying to find this app on the app store, but it doesn't show up... Did they replace it or something ? Please help me.. I had important info there and It seems like I lost it..

Only if you knew what company or individual made the app. You would have to contact them. If you don't know, I would suggest Restoring your device from a backup at a point where you had this app.

What happened to the File, Edit, and View menus for mac 0s10.8.3? f10 and other solutions don't work?esn't work

I just got a new mac OS 10.8.3 and newest firefox. I can't find the menus bar, I can't close it without force quiting, can't even tell what version I have. Everytime I try to use the arrows to change the view as suggested full screen makes it worse. I have researched the subject and tried recommended fixes like F10, optionF, etc. and nothing is working. Please help?

The menus have been ported to the top left corner, it says Firefox and has its icon, that is the new menu. If you dont like it and want the old one you have to.
# Right Click the tab bar
# Context menu should show
# Click "Menu Bar"
and you now have the menu back.

What happened to the subject line and body?

Since yesterday I'm receiving emails (from friends) that contain only from/date/to information -- nothing else appears in the message. Does anyone know what this might be or how to fix it? I haven't upgraded or changed anything recently.

Were these messages received messages that were forwarded by the sender and if so, are these friends sending with an AOL account?
With such a message open, at the menu bar go to View > Message.
If Plain Text Alternative is an available selection, select it.
Any difference?

What happened to the user icons and levels?

I see that my user icon and level 2 rating seem to have vanished with the new forums. How do I get them back?

I keep on looking where to find the user icons. It certainly is not in my settings.
Um, it certainly is.
Click on "My Settings," scroll down to the last line in the first section called "My Profile," just above the beginning of the second section (marked by a gray-shaded line called "General Settings." You'll see a line there marked "Avatar" on the left-hand side of the page in black, and towards the middle of the page in pastel blue lettering you'll see the phrase "edit avatar."
Click on "edit avatar" and select an avatar. When you're done, click on "Save" at the bottom of the page on the right-hand side to save your selection.
