What happened to the indexing of addresses. It no longer works like it did before

I have for years been able to add addresses to emails by typing usually the first letter of the name. Since the last update I have to type sometimes 3 letters of the name to get the right address to show up. I thought it would improve with use but it hasn't change. Please go back to the old indexing or what ever you had before. If I want Dave, I have to type dav or it brings up Sandy.. Go figure
Thanks

  • Does the "Fill free space with music" not work like it did before?

Before updating my iphone 4 to iOS5, the fill free space with music seemed to rotate in and out music and also provided space to add more pictures, podcasts, etc.  Now it just seems to fill the phone to the max on the first sync and just leave what it put on there in place.  If I try to add something like a folder of pictures it will only add a few of the pictures because there is no room.  Before I think it freed up room by deleting some of the "free space" music.  I'd like to go back to that.  I really don't want have to had select every song I put on the iPhone when I have more music than my phone will hold.

Also, how does it decide what to add to the iPhone?

  • Ever since I downloaded the iOS 6 update, my car stereo no longer works like it did before

My Pioneer car stereo worked exactly like it was supposed to with my iPhone 4s. By syncing to the car stereo, I could listen to all of my music on my iPhone and receive Pandora in the car.  Since I downloaded the iOS 6 update two weeks ago, my car stereo has basically become inert, no longer syncs to my iPhone and has turned my expensive car stereo into a glorified CD player.  I googled this problem first and noticed many other people had the exact same problem that I have.  Since I can't undo the iOS 6 update (****, I wish I could), is there anyone out there with a similar problem and is there anything to remedy this problem. I will never download an Apple update again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would love to see an update on issues like this.
I have the pioneer avh-3400bh.  Prior to iOS6 on my iphone 4, everything worked as it should.  Upon updating to ios6 on the 4, and now also with the iphone 5, my head unit will play BT audio, but it receives no track/data information.  Using USB, I can no longer use my phone to browse songs, I can only use the head unit control.  the phones tell me that an accessory is connected and won't allow me to do anything.  Same for the pandora app

Ever since I updated my Macbook Pro, the shortcuts on the F1-F12 keys no longer work. I used to press just the F12 key and I would be able to raise the volume, now it switches to the home page. I want the old shortcuts back and I don't know how to do that. Please help.

Ever since I updated my Macbook Pro
    updated from what to what?
Suggest you try a NVRAM / PRAM reset, as described by Apple:
    Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • ICloud family email account? Don't understand what happens to the other email addresses.

After updating my devices to ios5 I was going to move to iCloud. Got message that not all email accounts would forward (I have family plan with multiple email accounts), and I don't really understand what I need to do to get everything moved to iCloud.

You can move the master and sub accounts on a Mobileme Family Plan individually to iCloud: each account needs to move separately, going to http://me.com/move and will become an individual and separate iCloud account. This can be done in any order, but obviously if you move the master account first you can no longer use it to administer the sub-accounts; and if you move a sub-account first you can't create a new sub-account to replace it.
The master account will get the free extension to 20GB until 30 June 2012; the sub-accounts won't.

How long do I have to watch a rented movie?
You have 30 days from the time of rental to watch your movie, and 24 hours (in the US) or 48 hours (elsewhere) after you've started viewing to finish it. Once the rental period expires, the movie will disappear from your iTunes library."

    Yes.
I may be wrong, but TM wont let you select something unavailable for back up while you're using the "exclude" preference. Unavailable items are grayed out.
Only TM volumes and volumes not formatted OSX Extended are shown that way.
You do have to click show invisible items but the .trash file can be manually selected for exclusion. That seems a fair indicator that by default TM is backing up your trash.
No. Previous System folder, most system caches, swap files, logs, etc., are automatically excluded.

  • What happens to the open item in bsid table when it is cleared

    hi experts,
i have a doubt about open and cleared items of accounting documents. as we know open items of customers are stored in bsid and cleared ones in bsad. For suupose, an open item is closed ina particular period then what happened to the entry in bsid and bsad table. an entry regarding is stored in bsad (cleared),and what happens to the entry in bsid, still it will be there or removed from it.

    Hi,
When ever we clear the document(Complete payment) that document will be moved to BSAD table. Other wise it will remain in BSID.
If u are making partial payment then all the partial payment documents along with original document will be stored in BSID till u made the complete payment for that invoice.
Assumption is u have to give all partial payment documents made for particular invoice item while u are making complete payment in F-28 transaction. So that these partail payment documents will also be cleared while making complete payment and moved to BSAD table.
This trasaction can be used for both partial and complete payments.
Irrespective of complete or partial payments made all the documents will remain stored in BKPF and BSEG tables.
BSID and BSAD are index tables to address performance issues with BKPF and BSEG tables.
So all open and cleared documents will be there in BKPF and BSEG tables.
All cleared documents will be there in BSAD table.
Alll open documents will be there in BSID table.
    Hope it is clear.
    Thanks,
    Vinod.

  • What happens to Existing index after table partition and created with local index

    Hi guys,
desc part id  number, name  varchar2(100), salary  number
In an existing table  PART  i am  adding 1 more column DATASEQ NUMBER. i am asked to partition the table part based on dataseq.now the table is created with this logic
    create table part( id  number, name  varchar2(100), salary  number, DATASEQ  number) partition by list(dataseq) (partition PART_INITIAL  values (1));
Suggestionn required. since  the table is partitioned based on DATASEQ i am asked to add local index on dataseq. i have added local index to dataseq create index idx on part(dataseq) LOCAL; Now my question is  already there is existing index is for the column ID and salary.
    1)  IDX for  dataseq is created locally so that it will have partition on each partition on the main table. Please tell me what happens to the existing index on the column ID and salary.. will it again created in local?
    Please suggest
    S

    Hi,
first of all, in reality "partition a table" means create a new table a migrate existing data there (although theoretically you can use dbms_redefinition to partition an existing table -- however, it's just doing the same thing behind the scenes). This means that you also get to decide what to do with the indexes -- which indexes will be local, which will be global (you can also re-evaluate some of existing indexes and decide that they're not really needed).
Second of all, the choice of partitioning key looks odd. Partitioning is a data manageability technique more than anything else, so in order to benefit from it you need to find a good partitioning key. A recently added column named "data_seq" doesn't look like a good candidate. Can you provide more details about this column and why it was chosen as a partitioning key?
I suspect that whoever suggested this partitioning scheme is making a huge mistake. A non-partitioned table is much better in all aspects (including manageability and performance) than wrongly partitioned one.
    Best regards,
    Nikolay

  • Running latest version on OS X and mail.  What happened to the icon labeled "not junk?"  Is there any way to brink it back?

Running latest version on OS X and mail.  What happened to the icon labeled "not junk?"  Is there any way to bring it back?  Thanks in advance!

Make sure your Junk Mail settings are properly set up, right now neither of those messages are marked as Junk Mail.  When Mail identifies an item as Junk Mail or you manually do, it will add the text "Mail thinks this message is Junk Mail" or "You marked this message as Junk Mail" to the message.  Right now this just looks like regular SPAM that you might get that hasn't been properly identified as Junk Mail or when Junk Mail Filtering is no enabled.  Remember Mail needs to learn what is and is not Junk Mail over time, so if you have recently reset your mail settings through a reinstall or the like, it may still be learning.
    1.  Do you have a Junk folder (system created) as one of your mailboxes?  If there is none, it means that Junk Mail filtering is not enabled or has been enabled but the system has yet to identify any mail as Junk.
    2.  If you do have a Junk folder, try dragging a piece of mail into the folder to see if the banner I am referring to appears.  It should.  You should be able to unmark the mail and drag it it back in your inbox.
    3.  If you manually mark the mail as Junk, does it move into the Junk folder and have the banner I am referring to?  It should.
    4.  If any of the above is not happening, first check your mail settings using the guides below:
Mail (Yosemite): Reduce junk mail in your inbox
Mail (Yosemite): If junk mail filters aren’t working correctly
If all seems correct and it's still not working right, try rebuilding your mailbox:
    Mail (Yosemite): Rebuild mailboxes
If none of these help you, please post back and we'll try something else.  Oh, and clear out your Previous Recipients window of any unwanted email addresses.  Anything listed in there is usually ignored by the Junk Mail filters.

  • RI - What if Parent is refreshed - What happens to the constraints

    Hello
I have a parent-child scenario. What happens if the parent table is completely refreshed? What happens to the child table (that has cascade delete)?
If RI exists, will a complete refresh of parent be possible?
What is the best way to handle this scenario?
    Thx!

One of the quickest ways of identifying duplicate records in a table is to enable a unique (or primary key) constraint knowing ahead of time that it will choke on the duplicates, but using the EXCEPTIONS INTO EXCEPTIONS clause which will cause the rowids of the duplicates to be written into an EXCEPTIONS table (created ahead of time with the rdbms\admin\utlexcpt.sql script, for example).
Therefore, imagine a million row table into which a fresh bulk load of another million rows from some external source is to be performed.
You declare the constraint, you disable it, you perform the load, you enable it exceptions into exceptions. You now can clear out the duplicate data quite easily, and then enable the constraint normally. Next load, you disable the constraint all over again and repeat the process.
That's one reason you might want to repeatedly disable/enable a constraint.
Consider another: a unique or primary key constraint, by default, when created, will cause a unique index to be created on the table. Doing any sort of bulk load into a table, even of data you know to be 'clean' of duplicates, will be a lot slower as a result of each insert having to update the index. Therefore, one of the things you commonly do to speed up bulk loads is to disable constraints, therefore removing any associated unique indexes, and therefore saving the time that would normally be spent validating data and updating indexes.
In the old days before they invented deferrable constraints, too, you might well be engaged in a complex data loading process that involves quite a few steps before finishing. If looked at during those steps, you'd say the data violated constraints... but if you just let me get to the end, you'll find that the data all comes good. So you had to be able to disable constraint checking at the start of the process, and re-enable it at the end. A good example of that is Scott's EMP table: it has a manager column and the data in that column refers to the EMPNO column. A manager has to be an employee, after all! So there's a self-referencing foreign key on that MGR column, which means you can't load a record containing a manager number that isn't already an employee. But if you were doing a bulk load of data into that table, starting with it completely empty, that would mean you'd never be able to load any data into it at all: no employees exist to begin with, so there are no managers, so the first employee record that mentions a manager gets rejected. But if only you'd let me do the initial load of data, you'd see that every manager mentioned DOES turn out to be an employee! At the end of the load, it all comes good, and everything is properly related to everything else.
Short of being very careful about the order in which you load such data (presumably, you'd have to start with Mr King, who runs the company, then deal with the first lot of managers, and then you could load the clerks and salesmen), the simplest way of resolving that sort of Catch-22 is to disable the constraint, do the load, and then enable the constraint when all the data is in place and therefore all the relationships between records have come good.
(As I say, since version 8.0 of Oracle, you can also defer the constraint so that it only gets checked at the point you commit all the data, but leaving that subtlety aside, it's still a classic example of where switching constraint checking on and off proves very useful).
