What happened to the Premiere Pro CS3 Forum

It appears that there is no longer a separate CS3 forum.
If this is true, have all of the CS3 posts been moved to the Premier Pro Forum?

Steve,
There was much confusion as to where one should post, with the old designations. The decison was made to try to group the sub-fora into a managable order. Premiere (non-Pro) was created, and all versions of PrPro (1.0 through CS4) were placed into another sub-forum. Premiere Elements stayed separate, as it should.
Now, with the two Premiere fora, one should mention their version in the Title, i.e. "[Pr 6.5] Export Issues."
To me, it makes perfect sense, as soon as one gets used to the change. The Encore forum went from about 15 sub-fora to five +/-, and it works well.
Give it time,
Hunt

  • What happened to the Lightroom 5 Beta forum? Deleted, not archived or merged?

What happened to the Lightroom 5 Beta forum? I understand that LR5.2 is now in full release, but it would be nice if the Beta forum was locked and archived for reference. It seems to have been completely deleted, along with some detailed feedback by myself and other Beta testers. (I can't find it if it is archived, anyway.) None of my many, many LR5Beta forum contributions are listed in my "Content" tab in my Adobe profile. All of the links to the LR5Beta discussion in which I contributed to (such as http://forums.adobe.com/message/5271729#5271729 ) lead me to this message:

Big thumbs up for Pete.Green and Daniel T! Thank you for this incredibly fast response! I worked very hard on explaining my "Advanced Adjustment Brush" proposal back in May 2013, and I am glad that it is again available for reference... in fact, even better, as it appears that the thread is now fully unlocked and availble to reply to. I still firmly believe this proposal is the way forward for Lightroom's local adjustment tools in the future.  I hope that the remainder of the LR5Beta forums will eventually be brought back for reference.

  • Welcome to the Premiere Pro SDK Forum!

Hello there, and welcome to this new forum, which is the place to discuss the Premiere Pro Software Development Kit, publicly available at http://www.adobe.com/devnet/premiere/
There is definitely a wealth of development experience out there, and so we hope that this forum will help the Premiere Pro community by providing a centralized, searchable forum for all developers to collaborate and get answers to questions not already answered by the SDK documentation.
Let's start by asking: Who are you, and what are you developing using the Premiere Pro SDK?
My role is to produce the Premiere Pro and After Effects SDKs, and help our third-party developers develop plug-ins and otherwise integrate with Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium.

  • What happened to the Acrobat Pro 9.x updates? I was doing them Friday and today they vanished.

There were many updates for Acrobat Pro 9 on the website last week and I was downloading and updating my copy. (I have a version that came with a scanner so I'm not inclined to buy a new version.) Now they vanished. Are they now somewhere else?

That's Adobe! There is no longer support for this product. I have CS4 Design Premium. After reinstall (in OSX 10.6) I got:
a not working Adobe Updater 6 in last version (incl. rights management patch). I think, they set it completely out of service.
hoped for the last versions of included CS4 apps via (still existing) download from Adobe Server, but they come in bloody 1st version (sic!), you get Acrobat 9.0.0
This is the Adobe document: End of support | Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 (and earlier)
That's unbelievable. The Acrobat 9 Pro Updates are security relevant and til 9.5.5 we payed for it!
What you can do (not Acrobat 9 Pro):
If you use a CS4 version: Try to install plugins, patches and updates manually (PS 11.0.2, ID 6.0.6 etc.)
Try to get an Acrobat X Box, Acrobat X updates are still online.

  • Premiere pro cs3 ftp link

We purchased Premiere Pro CS3 couple years ago.  Had to reformat computer, can't reinstall because downloaded first time with trial and the 30 days is up.  Adobe keeps telling me they will make the Premiere Pro CS3 link to install the program and email the link to me.  This has been going on since the beginning of 2009.  Still no link.  upgraded to CS4 like Adobe suggested, having all kinds of problems.  Is it possible to use someone else's installation discs for CS3 but use my serial number to register it?

I have Premiere Pro CS4 installed on my desktop and my laptop. My projects are generally short in length (30 seconds to 30 minutes; some larger but the project size doesn't seem to make any difference) and I am still in SD, not HD.  Although a little slow because I'm running 32 bits, initially it worked fine on both, until . . . .
Desktop - all of a sudden I'm getting an error message "Licensing for this product has stopped working", followed by a couple similar error messages.  It will only stay open for 5 minutes tops before this message appears.  I've tried the solutions posted by Adobe and the Forums but nothing has worked.  I can't think of anything that changed on my computer that made this start happening.
Laptop - Same error message as above. It never did import to Media Composer. Then I had issues with the Dell XPS laptop so our IT dept worked on it and fixed those issues by replacing motherboard, memory and video card (old video card was a NVIDIA Geo Force 8800 GTX, new card is a ATI Mobility Radeon X1800, any thoughts as to whether this replacement was a step up or down from the NVIDIA are welcome). They reinstalled the programs and now Premiere works okay but it still won't import to Media Composer.  Media Composer opens but the project never gets there and I get the red X or the caution triangle.
Desktop - Premiere doesn't work but it does talk to Media Composer.  If I can get it to stay up long enough I can take the video I create from the laptop, open it on my desktop and then Import to Media Composer.
The desktop is a Dell XPS 720; Windows XP Professional Version 2002 w/Service Pack 3; 32 bit; Intel Core 2 Quad; Q6600 @ 2.40GHz; 2.40 GHz; 2.75 GB of RAM.
The laptop is a Dell XPS 720; Windows XP Professional Version 2002; 32 bit; Intel Core 2 CPU; T7200 @ 2.00GHz; 1.99 GHz; 3.25 GB of RAM.
This is extremely frustrating.  Especially when I didn't have any problems with CS3.  Thanks for any help you can provide

  • Encore & Premiere Pro CS3 with Photoshop CS5

    Hi,
I have the CS3 suite on Vista 32 bit. I was wondering if I can keep the Premiere Pro CS3 and Encore CS3  and only upgrade Photoshop to CS5. Has anyone had any compatibility issues using this combination? Can Encore CS3 menus be easily edited in Photoshop CS5?
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum
You cannot upgrade to a standalone program from a Suite.
But to answer your question: yes you can edit Encore CS3 menus with Photoshop CS5.

  • Workaround: Premiere Pro CS3 & Adobe Audition 3.0

I'm not sure if this was already posted, but I discovered a little workaround to use both apps, in a similar way that Premiere Pro 2 and Adobe Audition 2 work together. Just make sure you have soundbooth installed too, and do these steps:
    Adobe Bridge:
    -Open Adobe Bridge
-Click in Edit > Preferences (or Press "Ctrl + K")
-Click in File Type Associations, and select the audio files like .wav, .mp3 or the format you'll edit in AA3, click in the down arrow and then Browse
-Point to the Audition.exe file in the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Audition 3.0\
    -Click OK and close Bridge
Now open the Premiere Pro CS3:
-Right click the audio track / piece you want to edit, select Edit in Adobe Soundbooth > Render and Replace
-It will render a temp file and open Soundbooth, you can close it now and come back to Premiere Pro CS3
-In the left window, where the audio and video files are placed in Premiere, right click in the new audio file that was rendered and Click Reveal in Bridge. It will open the Adobe Bridge window now.
-Right click in the file (in the Bridge window) and select Open with > Adobe Audition 3.0 (default).
-Be happy and edit the track in Adobe Audition now! When you save the file and come back to Premiere pro, it will re-render automatically and you wont touch your original source audio file!
I hope this helps a little the people who wants to use AA3 and Premiere Pro CS3, and if it was already posted, sorry for the incovenience!

Audition is Windows-only. PPro CS3 was ported to the Mac. The suite needs consistency across platforms. Do the math.
Audition 3 is available. Edit Original works. Use that.
Try the Soundbooth CS4 beta. Closer to Audition than ever before.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Media Encoder question...

    Hi,
I got a question regarding the Premiere Pro CS3 Media Encoder.
I am converting a sequence in Premiere Pro CS3 which contains footage from a '.vob' file which is NTSC, 720x480, 16:9 to a '.flv' file.
Now I'm doing this via Premiere Pro CS3 Media Encoder and it let's me choose the Width & Height but there is no checkbox to keep the proportions - which I find is very, very inconvenient...
So if I wanna convert this to a .flv file which is 400 high, the width should be 600, right ?
Also, there is no way to specify to keep the 16:9 aspect ratio.
Is that done automatically or how/where can I specify it ?
Thanx for your help in advance !
    Mike

If you want 16:9. you need to consider that the lower number should probably be divisible by 72. So, if you want something about 600 wide, I would use 360 for the lower number which gives you a frame size of 640X360
When divisible by 72, it is evenly divisible by both 8, which is great for encoders, and 9, which is the frame ratio you want.
Just choose square pixels and you will be fine.

  • Need to Download Premiere Pro CS3 (CD won't install)

    Hi there,
My laptop's HDD recently crashed, and when I went to reinstall the Premiere Pro CS3 cd, I get to the screen where install progess is shown (after I've entered my S/N).  The installer seems to hang on 'instaling 3rd party content' and takes FOREVER for the green bar to 'move'.  Then, after hours of letting it sit, I get a window that says install has failed... pretty sure that it said 3rd party content DID install, but PP itself and something else did not.  I tried twice, with the same result.
The CD is clean, no real scratches... just been sitting in its case for years.
    FWIW, I'm running Vista 32bit.
I'm hoping there's some CS3 files still hidden on Adobe.com that I can DL in place of the CD.
Don't really edit from home much anymore. Just need my copy of PP to work so I can recut my resume reel, which is a fairly important task.
    Thanks,
    Joe

Thanks for that link.  Got it downloaded.
It appears that something is wrong with my laptop... because the downloaded file stalls at the same point as the disc.  While it still says "Installing Shared components".  This is when the green progress bars stop(about 10% of the way) and the HDD activiity light on the laptop stops as well.
Back when I reinstalled windows, I had some issues updating.  Once I got to a certain point, one of the updates would render my laptop screen completely blank.... so after reinstalling a few times, I stopped installing updates at a certain point... though I did make it to Service Pack 2.
That's the only reason I can think of, as to why the program won't install. It's really odd.
BTW:  I did shut down the antivirus while attemptinng Premiere install.

  • Jumpy preview, render and export why? (Premiere Pro CS3)

Hi guys, When I try to import a small video that I took in my Sony CyberShot Camera DSC-S600 (in avicodec) it says my video is:
    MPG1 = MPEG1 (VCD).
    Resolution = 640 x 480 25fps.
If I just import that video, drag it to the timeline (below), and press ENTER, It will start rendering it without any effect that I've made, and in the playback it will like jump some frames in and out (some in reverse and then forward).
Also If i just import the video and make a playback, it will do the same, if I playback the video outside the premiere pro cs3 it will run just fine as it should be.
    My computer is a A64 3800+ 4GB RAM DDR2 800mhz, GF7600 gt 256mb is my video card.
(the video I'm importing is only 16mb).
Part of the video can be located in youtube, (see link).
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_73D3Rdbqk
It was saved in avi, then uploaded to youtube.
    please help me.

    > "...much anything that "also does" video really isn't the right tool for the job..."
If the camera video can be converted to Pro video, then it can be considered "the right tool." Jim, there are a plethora of situations where a compact still camera that shoots video is the right tool. It's your subjective definition of "the right tool" that begs up on an old paradigm. A fictional character, McGyver, never seemed to have the right tool for the job. In fact, the entire idea of invention is to create
    i or adapt
the right tool for the job.
That the misinformed come here with questions does not relate. Many more are informed, take the appropriate steps and proceed to tell the story. And move people. Or get paid.
For example: I use a still camera that also shoots video as a tennis instruction tool: A one hour tennis lesson involves recording the various tennis strokes, performing a few quick edits, and placing the results on DVD for the student(s). According to you, I should bring a tripod, a bulky mini-dv video camera, etc. I should take the time to set up the equipment, before my students arrive. I should also take time to move the tripod to capture the various different angles. After the lesson, I should take time (excuse me, real-time) to capture the mini-dv into Ppro and edit.
To me, the video camera is the wrong tool for this job. Instead, I whip out the still camera that also shoots video, walk around to get the angles, shoot the specific strokes requested. Oh-and as a perk, I can take several high resolution still photographs, with a single knob turn. Back in the studio, I dump the clip files on the timeline, w/o real time capture. And I edit.
Students love the video (they don't care/can't tell about the reduced quality--they're interested in their strokes), and they
    i also
    appreciate the stills.
If I were doing documentary or broadcast, a still camera that also shoots video would be a poor choice indeed. But, here, I'd be stupid to bring both kinds of cameras. However, before the CEs intervened and created just the right tool, I had to bring both. And I hated it.
It's a paradigm shift, Jim. You might not be able to understand it if you suffer from perceptualsclerosis.
And now the CEs have my mouth watering, with EX-F1. Blur the line.
    Keep Smiling

  • When importing MPEG files into Premiere Pro CS3 the audio sequence is missing.

We have two computers running Premiere Pro CS3.  Our computer most recently installed with PPCS3 will only import an audio sequence with the MPEG video file when I extract the file directly from the DVD.  When I take the video folder from the DVD and drag to my Desktop, importing to PP from the desktop, it will only import the video sequence; audio does not appear.  What would cause this happen and how can I fix this?  It's too time consuming to continuously use my DVD Extractor.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 Crashes when I right click the timeline

I have Premiere Pro CS3, and it runs fine most of the time. But as soon as I right click on one of the video clips on the timeline, it crashes and gives me an error: "A serious error has occured that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down." This happens pretty much every time; but only when I right click on timeline clips. I'm using Windows 7. I also have it on my laptop (Also windows 7) and I don't have any trouble running it there. No crashes even once. Any ideas?

  • Audio in Premiere Pro CS3 appears on one PC, not the other

    Hi everyone,
I'm the Network Administrator for a high school and we have a digital media lab here using Adobe Creative Suite 3: Master Collection.  All systems here are running Windows XP Professional and are on a Windows domain.  All users are standard users, with no administrative rights for obvious security reasons.  When I originally did the deployment of the lab by running sysprep on a reference computer and using ghost to deploy the rest of the computers, I noticed a problem with Premiere Pro CS3 after the deployment.  In that lab, none of the computers would capture video via firewire and the built in capture function in Adobe Premiere CS3.  I believe I have a post about this on these forums that was never resolved.  To get around this, I'd capture the footage for students in my office and then transfer it over to their network drives so they could import it into Premiere Pro CS3 and edit the footage.
Recently, the school purchased some HD cameras that record to a built in hard drive or an SDHC card.  The idea here was that the .MTS files could be copied from the camera to the computer running Premiere Pro CS3, the media files in .MTS format [at 1280x720] could be converted using KoyoteSoft's Free HD Converter using the settings MPEG2 [a preset], MPG2 as the format, 1280x720 // 16/9, 29.97 FPS, 9000 video bitrate, and 224 audio bitrate, and then the new media files could be imported into Premiere Pro CS3 and edited using the HDV 720p30 preset within Premiere Pro CS3.
This works great...on my office computer.
The problem is that if any student tries to import their footage on a computer in the digital media lab, the converted media files, the exact same ones that just imported into my Premiere Pro CS3 installation on a computer in my office with identical hardware as the computers in the digital media lab, fail to import the audio.  I can see the video with no problems in the lab, but no audio layer appears.  If I right click the video file and choose Open With> VLC or another media player, the media plays fine with audio.  All audio/video codecs that are installed on my machine are also installed on the digital media machines.  If I right click Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 from within a student account on those computers and choose Run As and use the local administrator account, Premiere Pro CS3 does the exact same thing, it still can't see the audio.  Adobe CS3 is fully up to date on both my office computer and all digital media computers.
Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated, spring break is coming up here this coming week and I'll be here all week.  Hoping to get this resolved during that time so students can edit their own movies.  Again, video imports, audio doesn't.  No audio layer appears.
    Thanks!

See if this helps... To work with AC3 sound files in Premiere CS3, copy the ad2ac3dec.dll file from the Encore CS3 directory into the Premiere directory
