What happened to the preview window & Bridge icon?

In PSCS6, I don't have a preview window in the "Open" dialog box. In PSCS5, when I clicked on an image file, I had a thumbnail preview. Also, the Bridge icon in the toolbar disappeared, which was visable in PSCS5.

Lost two features, Photoshop has. The Adobe Jedi have waved hands and said, "these are not the features you're looking for".
You can conceivably put a Bridge icon on the desktop near where it used to be, and leave a little room outside of the Photoshop application frame where you can see it, or use the File - Browse In Bridge menu item, or Alt-Control-O (or the Mac equivalent if you're on that system).
If you're on Windows, you could consider getting a codec pack that will provide you thumbnail images right in the dialog and Explorer windows. I can recommend the one that I use: The FastPictureViewer Codec Pack.

What happened to the previews?

I just finished reinstalling my PC from scratch. Installed Windows XP with all updates, Photoshop CS2 and Lightroom. No other software installed.
After the import of ~ 5500 .nef (D2x / D200) i try to render the 1:1 previews, but there's no change in speed. So i tried again- and again. I have rendered the 1:1 four times, but there's no change in the folder size (as in, there's no rendered previews there).
1. The folder tree are readable and writeable
2. The "icon" before "Rendering ...." in the top- left corner are black (always).
3. No anti-virus or other software on the PC
I even tried to render the "standard previews", with the settings at the highest (largest + best), and the same thing happens.
So what's up? How do i fix this? And shouldn't this really don't be a thing i shouldn't have to bug hunt in a software-package i payed for?

Please try this: Select one modest sized folder, with say 20-60 images. Select all images therein and delete the 1:1 Previews. Watch upper left for progress bar. Then check size of Preview folder; should be changed. Then rebuild the previews, again watching for progress bar. It's impossible to tell from here whether you've built them all or one or two.

What happened to the Activity window in Safari?

there is no more Activity window in Safari. What happened and how can I geet it back?

In Safari 6 in preferences you navigate to the advanced menu and click on the "Show develop menu in menu bar" and you should be able to see much of what is in the page. It certainly is not what we are used to and there are certainly a number of strange changes i am not sure developers have tested on the average user before implementing.

What happened to the Finder Window?

Tonight I found that my Finder is not working the way it did the last time I looked. Before, when I clicked on the Finder icon in the dock, the Finder Window would open on the left side of the screen. Now, it opens as a window that looks more like a search windown and is spread across the screen. The folders and files the once were easy to find, as they were in simple hirarcial order, are limited and no longer useful.
I went back and set up the Finder with the files that I want displayed, but that did not change the Finder back to the vertical window on the left side of the screen showing the folders and files I want displayed.
To my knowledge, no software changes were made. I did just put in a new power adaptor cord and a new battery since the original is six years old.
Can anyone tell me how to restore the Finder Window?

To restore the sidebar, click the little lozenge-shaped grey button at the top right of the window.

What happened to the information window?

I can't seem to get an information window that is always open in iCal on Leopard. I Tiger I would leave the info window open, click on the event and see the information. Now I have to double click on the event for a little window to pop up.
Am I missing something or is this the only way to see event info?

I was going to recommend that you submit iCal Feedback, but notice that the most current version of iCal is not listed in the version drop down list. Perhaps it may be beneficial to submit it anyway.

What happened to the tab audio playing icon?

So, I have a lot of tabs open and as we all know some music starts on one of them. No problem, just look for the audio icon on one of the tabs, then close the tab or mute the audio. I look at my tabs and I do not see the audio playing icon on any of the tabs. Has that feature been removed? If not, can it be activated some kind of way? Thanks.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you use the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).
You can see the difference if you use Alt+F to open the File menu or other menus like the Edit menu (Alt+E) and compare that to what you see if you use the mouse to open the menu after you have made the menu bar visible by tapping Alt or by pressing F10.
You can close a tab with a double-click on that tab or via the right-click context menu of that tab.

Just upgraded to 5 from 3 - what happened to the page select icon? Can't find it in customize toolbars.

Used to be you could select which page you wished to go back or forward to from the arrow icons on the navigation toolbar. The history menu item only shows 10 sites without having to open history for today. What happened? Is there another icon or a new plug in for this functionality? I used it all the time.

The back/forward buttons have been moved to right-hand side of the navigation bar and the drop-down was removed. User right-click or hold click for one second to see the tab history. This is item #5 in my list.
The History menu also has "Open Previous session" and "Open closed windows",
to see more history use the History sidebar ("Ctrl+H") or the History Library List ("Ctrl+Shift+H") and sort or view by "Last visited".

Make sure your Junk Mail settings are properly set up, right now neither of those messages are marked as Junk Mail. When Mail identifies an item as Junk Mail or you manually do, it will add the text "Mail thinks this message is Junk Mail" or "You marked this message as Junk Mail" to the message. Right now this just looks like regular SPAM that you might get that hasn't been properly identified as Junk Mail or when Junk Mail Filtering is no enabled. Remember Mail needs to learn what is and is not Junk Mail over time, so if you have recently reset your mail settings through a reinstall or the like, it may still be learning.
1. Do you have a Junk folder (system created) as one of your mailboxes? If there is none, it means that Junk Mail filtering is not enabled or has been enabled but the system has yet to identify any mail as Junk.
2. If you do have a Junk folder, try dragging a piece of mail into the folder to see if the banner I am referring to appears. It should. You should be able to unmark the mail and drag it it back in your inbox.
3. If you manually mark the mail as Junk, does it move into the Junk folder and have the banner I am referring to? It should.
4. If any of the above is not happening, first check your mail settings using the guides below:
Mail (Yosemite): Reduce junk mail in your inbox
Mail (Yosemite): If junk mail filters aren’t working correctly
If all seems correct and it's still not working right, try rebuilding your mailbox:

In the Customize window, is there an icon with a label under it saying "Download Helper"? If so, drag it to the toolbar. Many extensions/add-ons place their icons in the Customize window and the user must put them on the toolbar. The home button has by default moved to the right hand edge of the navigation toolbar. You can move it back by right-clicking on a toolbar, choose customize to open the customize toolbar window, then with that window on display you can drag and drop icons to move them.

Shheesh! Loki is saying that this was a very useful tool/option. Is there any way to BRING IT BACK TO THE SAFARI MENU? Not how to do it in Preferences.
What I am saying is: What incompetent is responsible for this build of Safari? There was no reason to take that out... plenty of room in the Safari menu. But if you REALLY want to know why I'm ******, Older people can no longer go into "Appearances" and change the Fonts and Size without knowing how to use terminal or how to make .css files. (which doesn't work well anyway)
This build is infuriating.
