What happened to the "Quickly view original photo" while editing in iPhoto?

I think it used to be "spacebar" or something in iPhoto 9, it quickly switched between the original photo and your current changes which was very useful.

Hold the Shift key.

  • What happen to the quick view option?

Whenever new songs/albums would come out, I could quickly go through each album and listen to songs without having to leave first page. Now this option is no longer available and it takes forever to view new music. Wish this option was made available again.

I may have read it wrong but the link you sent me I believe is pertaining to personal playlist and album covers only not Itunes store. It is my understanding that APPLE took this away with the new update. I am simply just giving my feedback and wishing that APPLE would put this back for purchasing convenience. I've actually cut down on my purchasing because it takes too long to go through all the music because you have to go to each individual album page.  Thanks for your help anyway. Have a nice day.

  • What happened to the sidebar view in iTunes 12.0?

What happened to the sidebar view in iTunes 12.0?

"Switch to Songs view.  Everything will be much clearer"
I have no use for Songs view.  I always use Albums view (personal preference  - I think of my library as a collection of albums, not of songs), but never had any problem at all with the use of the top-left icons in iTunes 12.  Indeed, I much prefer the iTunes 12 version of the sidebar - ironically, for the reason that some seem to object to it: it doesn't clutter up a standardized listing of my library content with device-related information, and does not change if I connect an iDevice.  In general, the only interaction I need at the device level is the Eject function - all content syncing is controlled through playlists associated with each device I use (which, of course, are visible and can be modified whether a device is connected or not).  I only need to see the details of a device on the rare occasions I want to make a change to its behavior with respect to synchronization.

  • What happened to the Initial View options under Document Properties??

What happened to the Initial View options under Document Properties? I just updated my Reader and it's no longer accessible! SOS.

    Hi kga406,
Please tell me if you are able to access 'initial view' tab in document properties using Acrobat.
You can change initial view settings only in Acrobat and can view PDFs in Reader with the same initial view as set.
    Regards,

  • What happened to the Previous View button?

I was distressed to see that the Previous View button, so useful in Reader Version 9, seems to have been removed in version X. Is there any way configure version X so as to get it back? (If not, what could the designers at Adobe have been thinking?!?)

    Thanks so much!
I was expecting to find a Tools > Customize menu choice as in version 9. Although that would have made it more obvious, on the possitive side we can view this as part of the gradual training of PC users - myself in this case - to 'right-click when you want to know something'.

  • What happened to the filter on my photo?

I love the new feature on iOS7 which allows you to choose a filter then take a photo. I ran into a minor issue today with it though. I took a few photos with various filters. When I look at the pictures in the camera roll, it shows the pictures with the filters that I used when I took them, as it should. But when I open certain pictures, the filter goes away. And this only happens on some of the pictures, not all of them. And for the ones where the filter disappears, if I push edit, the filter appears again. Very odd. Has this happened to anyone else?

I should have researched a little more before I posted my question. One guy suggested rebooting the phone. A hard boot, turning it all the way off and then back an and it fixed it, YAY!
Thank you whoever that was that posted this fix somewhere on this site!

  • What happened to the quick browse button (down arrow) that use to be by the back button for quickly moving back several webpages?

The old Firefox used to have a small arrow button next to the forward/back buttons. When clicked it would show the entire browsing history making it easy to jump back several pages. Now it seems to be gone. I have only used the new version for a day and already I am tired of having to click back one page at a time. Was the quick navigate button moved or was it taken away?

This feature is still available, simply right click on the back button, and select which page you would like to go back to, just as before.

  • What happened to the geo data in Photos? I used to be able to connect a geographical place to my pictures in IPhoto

I used to be able to see the geo data logged with my pictures from my camera in IPhoto. And I could attach a geographical place to the photos in my library without geo data. It was also possible to see a map indicating where all my photos were taken. This feature seems to have vanished in the new Photos application.
Can I see/edit geographical data in Photos?

Geo tagging was dropped like all of the other features that were dropped when Apple decided to dumb down their desktop photographic software.

  • What happened to the frequencies view in the main display?

In the old versions of iTunes, you could toggle the top status window to show the frequency levels of a song. This is nowhere to be found lately. Any ideas? Did they get rid of it?

To which iTunes versions do you refer?
Some show bit-rate and other options, still.
The iTunes version in current updated 10.9.5
seems a little different than one in 10.5.8.
In older ones, certain features were helpful
informative, and overall good to have. One
of the better versions was in Tiger 10.4.11,
    Oh well...

  • Lost photos while editing in iphoto

I was editing an album on iPhoto (while not connected to Internet, dont know if that matters) when iphoto crashed. When I reopened iphoto only the first (of many imports) import's photos were showing. I don't really want to reedit all those lost photos but when I plug my camera in it says that all photos were already imported and even shows the little previously edited thumbnail as an option to replace if i try to reimport (which I cancelled since those edits must be somewhere then) But why can't I view them anywhere in the library??

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with
Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

  • What happens to the original photo after editing?  Does it get replaced by the edited photo?

I just bought my first iPhone(5).  On Android, when editing a photo, the original stays in your gallery and the edited photo gets placed right next to it.  So what I want to know is, When editing a photo in the photo app, what happens to the original since it would be nice to be able to make different edits of it.

That is an excellent question. This is definitely not the programmed behavior of Photoshop Elements. Normally, when you edit a file, a new copy of the file is created (the original is simply left alone). This new copy of the file will have "_edited-1" added to the end of the name. It should definitely not be adding $ to the name at all.
Just as a test, create a new user account on your computer, and try editing another image to see if does the same thing there. However, I suspect there is another application on your computer that is modifying how files are saved, deleted, and renamed.

  • What happened to the ipad photo viewer in lock screen?

What happened to the ipad photo viewer in lock screen? I updated to iOS 7.0 and nolonger have the slide show and music while in lock sreen. This was the most used feature of my iPad since I put it in a dock on my desk. Is there another way to do that.

    I 100% agree with ski-doug!!!
I use iPad 50% of the time  to play music and display photos for my customers!!!
I also have seen many a business display picture slideshows to their incoming customers without granting access to the device!
I realize many will save personal pictures to their iPads and thus they will not want easy acces to them, and they could block this feature in previous iOS.
Please, please, please Apple, DO NOT generalize and figure we are all the same!
    Please reuturn this feature!
    Sincerely...
    Monteh!
PS  It would be awesome if it could display all My Pics instead of just an album!

  • What happened to the thumbnail photo in an event?  Previously all I had to do was to drag the thumbnail photo to a folder, now I need to drag each individual photo to that folder.  If that means a few or several, it's a hassle. Any help for this one?

What happened to the thumbnail photos for an event?  Previously when I wanted to transfer an event to a specific folder all I needed to do was drag the thumbnail.  If there were multiple events, I only needed to pick the one I wanted and drag it.  Simple and it worked very well.  If there was an event with several, I only neede to drag the one thumbnail and it was done.  Now I need to drag each individual photo to the new folder.  Sometimes that could mean 10, 20 or more. Doing one at a time is can be a very slow process.  If there are events that need to be split, it can be even slower.  Any positive ideas will be greatly appreciated.

You need to follow iPhoto terms since we only know what you tell us
what are you calling folders - in iPhoto folders can not hold photos - albums hold photos and folders hold albums or other folders
The basic default view of photo is by event (iPhoto '08 and later)
Exactly what you you trying to do?
