What happened to Verizon?!?

Ever since Verizon's 'Improvements' I haven't been able to do a thing. I can get to my email now, but wasn't able to yesterday. Who knows about tomorrow.
But my main problem is with my personal web space. It's still there, however I added some things to it, which ONLY appeared if I was in 'Edit Your Web Page' mode. Not when I viewed it. Today, however, A couple of my pages come us as 'Invalid URL'.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems? And more importantly, is there anyone out there that can help me?!
Mike

  • Anyone know what happened to Verizon Forums on DSLReports?

I went to https://secure.dslreports.com/forum/vzfiostv this morning and get a message the the forum no longer exists or is members only, yet I was in yesterday.

Same thing with me.  Sent an email to the admin over there.  Waiting to see what is up.

  • What happens to Verizon email after Frontier takeover?

Just wondering if I need to start moving all my emails to non verizon.net accounts in preparation for the takeover by Frontier?? Anyone have any info on this?
    Thanks,

I see that Verizon is also ignoring this issue as well. Why is it Verizon continues to ignore posts about the Frontier transaction and does not provide the information in the Frontier facts when it comes to the dsl service including Verizon based email?  We deserve better then this.  Why wasn't any of this information contained within the letter Verizon mailed to customers? It only mentions the traditional phone based services.

  • What happened to my service in Mexico?

I suddenly do not have service in Mexico. My plan says that I do and I am in an area that I have spent much time in the last 4 years having few problems. Suddenly my service is gone. In a time of emergency it wasn't there leaving me in a dangerous situation and unable to reassure my family.. T-Mobile plans work here as do AT&T as well as Sprint what happened to Verizon service? My daughter tried to help me by going into an office and telling them of my problems but they were not helpful. It is not like I can call Verizon myself because I am searching for service. I want help.

    Hi,
    Don't worry,
You've just turned off audio scrubbing somehow,
Hit Shift+S to turn it on and off or find it in main menu>view.

Thanks for the help, Allan Sampson.
I updated itunes, shut the phone off and on, it still didn't give me blue bubbles. Kept following the suggestions on the page ...  I didn't know there was an IMessaging switch, but, shoot, it was OFF. Anyway, I toggled it on and now the text bubbles are blue again.

  • I have an excess balance on my verizon pay as you go plan. If I cancel my plan, what happens to my remaining balance?

I was looking at switching to a 2yr contract with Verizon instead of my pay as you go. I went into the local corporate store and was told that my balance would not carry over if I switched because my number was ported from a different company and their computer program specifically stated that my balance would not transfer due to this. Since this is the case, If I cancel my pay as you go and switch to a contract, what happens to my money? There is over $100 that is an excess balance on my account and I don't want to lose that. Will I get a check returned to me since it wont transfer?

        lookmanohands,
We are glad to hear that you are thinking of switching to our contract pricing. If you were to switch from our Pre-Pay and still have a balance the balance would not be able to be transferred. We are unable to refund the balance. We encourage you to use the balance up before you transfer.

  • What happens to iMessage if I swap out my SIM card?

My wife and I are traveling to Europe this fall and plan to bring our iPhone 5c's with us. Our plan is to use local (O2, Czech Republic) SIM cards for phone and internet service, swapping in the O2 SIM when we arrive and replacing the VZW SIM when we return to the US. (We may also sign up for a VZW international plan at the same time, just in case we have problems with the O2 service.)
VZW tech support has assured me (though I will re-check before the trip) that our phones are already unlocked and will accept activation of another SIM card. Of course our phone numbers will change, but I expect our internet services, via O2 data plan or (mostly) Wi-fi, to go on like nothing happened. I understand SMS text messages will queue up in our absence. However iMessage operates over the internet, not SMS service. What happens to iMessages destined for our VZW number while the O2 SIM is in the phone? What about iMessages sent to the new number on the O2 SIM? And what happens when we return the VZW SIM to the phone? I can imagine confusion on Apple's end with the multiple services. Thanks for any guidance!

I'm going to call the question answered. I hadn't changed my iMessage setup since getting the phone at the Verizon store. I had to go through the process of registering my Apple ID with iMessage; dunno why that wasn't already done. But once that is done, iMessage should follow the phone just as wushu2004 and rcschnoor said. Putting the VZW SIM back in the phone returns it to its previous status -- though it may take several minutes for iMessage to change the phone number to the current SIM, don't ask me why.
I have to say I still have a difficult time understanding exactly what is going on with iMessage, though I think I finally understand that when iMessage says it's using [email protected], it's referring to my Apple ID (which is the same as my email address) and not my actual email service.
    Thanks, all, for your help!

I have been using Microsoft 365, when I have saved an Excel file as a PDF I was able to sign the form, this morning Fill & Sign was not available. What happened and how do I get it back?

It boggles the mind.  The Verizon store on L Street downtown Washington, D.C. cannot access my Verizon account.  They can only sell cellphones then it's up to me to contact Verizon on my own to get the hook up. I even asked "Are you Verizon employes?  Is this a vendor store or is it really a Verizon owned and operated store?"  The answer "Yes, we are Verizon employes, yes this is a Verizon owned and operated store" ...
Yes, it indeed boggles the mind.  I'm of course referring to the fact that your post concerns Verizon Wireless products and services.  This forum is dedicated exclusively to Verizon Communications services.   As you probably know, Verizon Wireless and Verizon Communications operate as separate companies.
If you need help for a Verizon wireless product or service, it's best to direct questions to the Verizon Wireless forums.  You can reach them by clicking on "Wireless" (either here or at the top of the page).
Good luck and I sincerely hope you get your issue resolved.

  • What happens when you cancel your phone plan?

My contract through at&t is up in June, and I was just wondering if anybody knew what happens if I cancel my phone plan. Does my phone just work like an ipod touch, or... what? I heard a rumor that it did, but it was more speculation than fact.

I don't know if this is true for AT&T - but on Verizon, when I went to a Palm Centro from a Samsung regular not-too-smart phone, I still could use the Samsung as an alarm clock and a stopwatch. I just have to keep it on standalone mode (off the network) except twice a year, when I turn off standalone mode briefly to get the right time from the network during the change to and from daylight savings. The phone company has never complained. I can still access my old address book on the old Samsung any time.
When I get an iPhone, I'll keep the Centro in case anything horrible happens to the iPhone... and also to use some things on the Centro such as alarm programs and all-important games. Hopefully I can do the same as I do with the Samsung, and just connect it to the network as needed to reset the time. You'll have to look at your iPhone to see if they have something like standalone mode and hope that you can do the same. On the Centro, I think all I have to do is turn off the phone portion -- it does that spontaneously once every few months, anyway... There has to be a way to disconnect the phone from the network, since some places require you to do this to avoid interfering with their equipment (e.g., hospitals, airplanes).

  • What happens when calls/txts are blocked for a number?

I figured out how to block incoming calls/txts from a phone number in spam controls. What happens if they try to call or text? Are they aware that the number is blocked or does it seem "normal" except I don't receive anything?

Blocked individuals who call a customer will hear the message:
"Welcome to Verizon Wireless. The number you were trying to reach has calling restrictions which has prevented the completion of your call."
If someone tries to text you from a number you have blocked they will get an error that the text failed to send. You will not receive any notification that a blocked number attempted to text you.

  • What happens after 20 months of EDGE if no upgrade?

What happens after 20 months of EDGE? Does the service discount remain if you don't upgrade to a new phone? Or does the service price increase even though you don't have an EDGE payment to end up the same amount anyway?

mrhelper: What else do you know about he month2month discount? I'm currently on a similar edge program but with 2 lines. I still have about 16 more payments left on the edge phones, but I have no intention of upgrading or do another Edge program afterwards. I believe the Verizon Reps told me that I would indeed keep my $25 discount off the access lines when I originally signed up for it, but if that's not the case, where did you hear about that month2month program and what are the details of it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • What happens to people already on unlimited 4G?

I just saw this article saying grandfathered unlimited plans are ending:
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/16/verizon-unlimited-data-plans_n_1521967.html
    I have a few questions:
    1.  Have we had any word from Verizon on when exactly when this will happen?
    2.  It says "when grandfathered customers upgrade from 3G phones to 4G phones they could be forced to abandon their unlimited plans for a data share plan".  This is confusing.  I'm already on a 4G phone with an unlimited contract.  What happens to my plan under this scenerio?  Will i be faced with an early termination fee when I move to Sprint (which will happen the second this goes in effect, fee or not)?
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on the confusion.

i'm sure many people will. i was just pointing out that if you have 6 smartphones on one plan then you are paying $180/month JUST for the data. if they offered a shared data tier that was about 5 gb's for $50-70, it could benefit a lot of families, if they know how to manage data and use wifi when possible (i'm a hog myself, but have access to wifi almost always so i'd have no problem staying under 1 gb or so). but sprint is the way to go if you need unlimited (until they follow at&t and verizon....which i am guessing will be shortly after they absorb everyone who switches).

  • What happens to calls when voice mail is not set up?

Odd question...what happens to calls placed to a number that does not have the voice mail set-up yet?  Do they show up as missed calls or anywhere in the call log for that number?  Or is it like the call never happened because it was not answered and could not go to voice mail?  Also curious as to whether or not missed calls show up on the phone once it is powered back on after having been shut off (powered all the way down).  I realize those calls will go to voice mail (provided it has been set-up) but will the calls show up as missed on the phone when it is turned back on?

Not odd...On Verizon if it is not set up, you will hear a recording that says "Im sorry, but the party you are trying to reach has a vm box that has not been set up yet". It will show as missed if the phone is on, and will appear in the log if the phone is on. If the phone is powered off, the call does not show in the log when turned back on. It will appear as if it never happened. You will only know if you get a VM (if its set up) or if the person tells you, hey I called you!

  • What happen to coverage along hwy 285

AT&T used to provide great covarege on HWY 285 from Shawnee to a little past Grant and then spotty coverage from Grant to Jefferson.  Now coverage from Shawnee to Jefferson is almost non existent.  My partner has Verizon and AT&T's coverage used to blow her away... now I have to use her phone.  What happen to our Hwy 285 coverage AT&T?

    Hi there
I’m sorry to hear you have been experiencing a drop of service in this area along Highway 285. Our goal is to be able to provide reliable service to everyone in the US,  though we are not yet in a position where we are able to do so and may sometimes alter the direction of our coverage from the tower to include the greatest number of active customers. Customer feedback on where you need service is important in our future plans though! I recommend trying our AT&T Mark The Spot app to capture the location of areas where there is little or no service. This information is then used to plan future network improvements. We realize you won't be able to report network issues from the app without wireless service but you can mark a place on the map and report the issue when service has been restored or you can use Wi-Fi. Visit the app store for your device manufacturer and download the AT&T Mark the Spot app.
Mark the Spot is free for AT&T customers to download:
Get Mark the Spot for iPhone
Get Mark the Spot for Android
Get Mark the Spot for Windows Phone
Get Mark the Spot for BlackBerry
For more information on using the app please see here.
    I hope this helps!

  • What happens to battery life if alarm is not shut down?
