I have a first-gen Mac Pro (System Profiler says model identifier is "MacPro2,1" which I think still makes it a first-gen model), and I was considering upgrading to the 8800 GT so I could take advantage of OpenCL, since the 7300 GT I have is not supported, according to Apple's page. However, I can't seem to find the card anywhere on Apple's store site, or anywhere else, for that matter. Does anyone know what happened? Can I still buy the 8800 GT for my Mac Pro? If not, what OpenCL-compatible card can I upgrade to? Apple only seems to have the ATI X1900 XT in their store.

I am wondering what happens when you buy a macbook form a third party vender. In my case it is amazon.com. I am reading about people returning their macbook's to apple for a refund due to the high pitched whine everyone is talking about. My understanding is that we can still send them to apple to get fixed for the noise, but even if they can't fix it we still can't get a refund right? If I try to return it to Amazon as a defective product who decides if it is? Apple or Amazon?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

You can only get the profile back if you plug into a computer that has the configuration profile in Apple Configurator or get the profile wirelessly from an MDM.

Where did it go and how do I get it back?

Solved my own problem. From the finder I opened a picture that I wanted to use for my desktop with Firefox and from there I opened the Desktop and Screensaver preferences and the missing pulldown was back.
My theory of the problem is that I had selected the "Change Picture" box and that eliminated the picture adjustment pull-down menu and it didn't come back after deselecting the "Change Picture" box.

apologies for obtuse question. Reunion is apparently no longer available from App Store. Family Tree Maker is now available for MAC but is not getting good reviews. I have used both. FYM on PC and then switched to Reunion, because FTM was not available in 2008 when I got my Mac.
Now I note that Ancestry is in cahoots with FTM so am tempted to switch again but put off by the poor feedback.
I thought that Reunion was also available for Iphone but not FTM??

Nothing is stored on a sim card of an iPhone - iPhones cannot store data on a sim card - everything is stored on the phone itself, with syncing via iTunes.
You can take the sim card out and nothing will happen to your data - it is all stored on the phone.
