What happens if I don't update iTunes when prompted and stay with an old version?

I ask because I hear about so many problems people have when they do apply updates.
Basically, what am I missing if I don't?

The new features included with the updates, which include the ability to sync recent devices.

What happens if I don't update ios 7?

    Nothing.
You can continue to use your phone just fine.
Eventually, and I'm talking maybe 1 or 2 years from now, you may start to find that you cannot update Apps anymore or that some service based Apps may no longer be supported.
But as it is now, nothing is going to happen if you choose not to upgrade, and you can continue to use your phone just as you have. Its not going to implode or anything .

  • What happens if I don't accept the iCloud Terms and Conditions?

    Problem:
A lot of iPods had "Find My iPod" enabled in iOS7.
They've all been updated to iOS8, in a network that prevents internet connections to iCloud.
Now the iCloud settings show that we must accept the Terms and Conditions, and all other settings are greyed out.
I can't accept the Terms because of the firewall.
    Questions:
What will happen if I let the iPods as they are?
Will "Find My iPod" disable itself after a few days, or will it stay enabled indefinitely?
Is there a time limit to accept the Terms and conditions?
    Thanks for your help.

I have got same problem and it's impossible: every minutes it say accept a term...

  • Cannot load Itunes or Quicktime and can't uninstall old version

I'm trying to load iTunes. The installation fails because, "The installation of QuickTime did not complete successfully. iTunes requires QuickTime."
Have tried unintallation the current version of QuickTime and installing the latest version of QuickTime 7. Nothing works.
    What should I try next?

This topic has been discussed repeatedly, if you go up to the top right corner of this page to "more options" and do a search of the forum you will likely find your answer, it does take a little effort on your part though.

  • What's going to happen if I don't update to 7.0?  Had some problems with it

Running Windows 2000, downloaded the new version and kept getting the following error.
When I opened iTunes, the disclaimer pops up for me to save, accept or decline. I click accept, and get the following error.
The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occured (0x666D743F).
    Tried doing this...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304318
Still didn't work, so I regressed to 6.0.5.
After regressing, I got iTunes opened and running again.
What happens if I don't update?

If you do not update, you cannot use the music store or any of the new iPod features.

  • What happens if I don't approve Update to CRM 2015 Online

    Hi there
Can anyone help me with this simple question?
What happens if I don't approve the automatic Upgrade to CRM 2015 Online?
Blogs tell me, that the Org is not being updated. That's ok, but what are my options afterwards?
Let's say I let the automatic Update pass by not approving it and in 10 month I would still like to get the upgrade. Can I still get an automatic upgrade at a later  point of time?
    Thanks for your help.
I posted the same question here: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/152185.aspx
    but received no reasonable feedback.

    Hi Tobi,
I don't know what you mean for "reasonable feedback", but as I wrote in the other post, at a certain post you will not able to delay the upgrade and your instance will be updated automatically to CRM 2015. And as the other user wrote, the deadline
is end of June of this year.

  • What happened to the sidebar view in iTunes 12.0?

What happened to the sidebar view in iTunes 12.0?

"Switch to Songs view.  Everything will be much clearer"
I have no use for Songs view.  I always use Albums view (personal preference  - I think of my library as a collection of albums, not of songs), but never had any problem at all with the use of the top-left icons in iTunes 12.  Indeed, I much prefer the iTunes 12 version of the sidebar - ironically, for the reason that some seem to object to it: it doesn't clutter up a standardized listing of my library content with device-related information, and does not change if I connect an iDevice.  In general, the only interaction I need at the device level is the Eject function - all content syncing is controlled through playlists associated with each device I use (which, of course, are visible and can be modified whether a device is connected or not).  I only need to see the details of a device on the rare occasions I want to make a change to its behavior with respect to synchronization.

  • What happened to my tv artwork in iTunes?

So can anyone explain what happened to my tv artwork in iTunes? It's not only the artwork that is messed up, but there are now multiple copies of each tv show in my iTunes, all the shortcuts in them work as well. Album artwork seems to have crossed over to tv artwork also. Music artwork is completely unaffected despite crossover in the other direction. It just began once when I opened iTunes, everything was suddenly wonky. Here are some screenshots so you get a better idea.
    Anybody have any idea?
    Thank you. Also help.

For those of you who were unable to resolve this issue by signing out of the iTunes Store and then signing back in: I was able to fix my problem by restoring from a Time Machine backup of my iTunes library file. Here's what I did:
Uncheck the "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" checkbox in your iTunes preferences (Store tab)
    Quit out of iTunes
Copy your Time Machine backups of iTunes Library, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, and iTunes Library Genius.itdb over the current versions of those files in your iTunes directory (for most people, this will be Music/iTunes in your home folder)
Disable your internet connection by disabling your wireless or unplugging your ethernet cord. This is necessary in order to prevent iTunes from syncing with iCloud upon launch (for whatever reason this just caused the problem to reoccur after syncing).
Launch iTunes. Your library should be back to normal (minus your Cloud purchases of course).
Re-enable your internet connection and check the "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" checkbox.
The Cloud purchases should sync properly now.
Keep in mind that anything you downloaded from iTunes since your backup will show up as only existing in the cloud.

  • Updating iTunes 12.1 and get error message "The procedure entry point CMBlockBufferCopyDataBytes could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll - what went wrong and how to resolve this?

Updating iTunes 12.1 and get error message "The procedure entry point CMBlockBufferCopyDataBytes could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll". What went wrong and how to resolve this?

Entry point errors can often be fixed by deleting the offending dll, then repairing the component it is part of.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
which is a 64-bit installer for the 32-bit version of the core application, similar to previous 64-bit releases.
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

What the ****? I don't remember my **** security answers and I just put $35 on my iTunes account and I am not able to buy anything! I'm so mad! I anwered those questions stupidly and I did not pay attention. And that extra email? I don't have a clue. I am seething and desperate. & I refuse to create a new account with all that mula on the line.

If you don't have a rescue email address, or you don't know what it is (you won't be able to add/view it until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use

  • What happened to the power search in itunes?

What happened to the power search in itunes?

Why? Indeed, is a very good question. Why take the most useful tool for finding music and bury it (in the case of version 10) or eliminate it (if you upgrade to version 11).   I think ignorance is too generous an answer to this question.
Rather, I believe this is a cynical marketing ploy to steer you into buying WHAT THEY SUGGEST, instead of WHAT YOU REALLY WANT.  Most vendors would be content to just advertise their suggestions, which you can pass by if you really know what you want. But for I-Tunes to willfully take away your ability to go directly to what you want is a sad insult to the buying public.
Also, they probably feel that power search is too effective in revealing what I-Tunes DOESN'T have available.
By all means, follow the advice given above - provide I-Tunes with the feedback that is sorely due.
