What happens if Local Mode LAP lost connection to Controller?

Hey,
I wonder what happens to the wireless client and LAP running in local mode if connection to wireless lan controller is down OR the controller itself is down? I do not think LAP will reboot by itself but will wireless client lost wifi connection and internet connection via the LAP?

H-REAP/FlexConnect is different and it can keep clients connected depending on authentication methods. This will explain it better:

what to do for ipad1 not lost connection(wifi), between on/off sessions of it?

Does you router need a firmware update perhaps?
Have you tried rebooting your router? Unplug it for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again.
You could try rebooting your iPad as well. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • What happens when there's no internet connection?

The only reference I can find to this is here
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4539999#4539999
But the thread is old and appears to have been shut down with no answer to the fundamental question.
Bottom line is that there are a 1000 valid reasons you may not have a connection and a 100 reasons that situation may not change for weeks.
So what happens, does CC just shut down?

    Hi Rob,
I copied this from the Creative Cloud FAQ - http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html
Do I need ongoing Internet access to use my Adobe® Creative Cloud™ desktop applications?
No. Your Creative Cloud desktop applications (such as Adobe® Photoshop® and Illustrator®) are installed directly on your computer, so you won't need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis.
An Internet connection is required the first time you install and license your desktop apps, but you can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license. The desktop apps will attempt to validate your software licenses every 30 days.
For annual members, you can use the apps for up to 99 days in offline mode. Month-to-month members can use the software for up to 30 days in offline mode.
So after 30 days it will attempt to connect, and give you a notification if it is unable to do but the software will continue to work.
    Hope that helps,

  • How to cleanly migrate APs from local mode to flex-connect?

I am working with an existing network where all APs are remote from the WLC at the data center. All APs were configured to run in local mode. I am trying to reconfigure these APs to flex-connect mode and local switching.
Configuring the APs themselves to flex-connect and reconfiguring the switch ports is not an issue.
None of the WLANs are currently configured for flex-connect local switching.
When I configure a WLAN to allow local switching several of the APs cease to service clients.
I am not permitted to change/add a new WLAN so I have to do this in place. This has to be transparent to the users.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

The AP has been changed to flex-connect mode from local and the native VLAN is set to 10. The switch port is trunked with the native VLAN set to 10. This works fine until I try to change the WLAN to allow local switching.
This example is a small site and all data clients are assigned to VLAN10.

Please note that I made no judgements as to the quality of your assistance nor did I make any comments or implications regarding your courtesy.  My statement was strictly related to your comment in bold face type (quoted in my prior statement) and nothing more.
Re yours:  "Everyone wins by learning."  I totally agree with you on that point.
    Ciao.
Your response is thoughtful and deserves discussion. Moreover, it seems we're in agreement on several issues - but not this one.
Look through my questions and answers. I have no interest in points or "helpful" ratings. But it's perfectly reasonble and consistent with Apple Support criteria to ask if an issue is resolved to the poster's satisfaction, and to encourage further discussion to make sure it's resolved. The original poster's question in this thread wasn't resolved completely, but further dialog encouraged the user to visit the Apple Store, where it will be addessed. The poster was appreciative for the information.
Ultimately, it's up to Apple to discern whether my comments are incongruous with Apple's Support Use Agreement. I don't see any incongruity.

  • What is link-local mode in IPv6? Does it fix dropouts?

I've read of some people curing some drop-outs by using this setting, as opposed to tunnel, in their airport utility. What does this do and does it work? Thanks.

Check this link out: Should provide you with information on local-link as it relates to security of the network.

  • What happened to Firefox - I suddenly lost my tab and toolbar settings and it is now an unrecognizable mess that is very slow.

Had Firefox configured just the way I wanted it. Suddenly it was getting very slow so I quit and restarted.
Now Firefox looks completely different. I lost my tabs and toolbar settings. Firefox looks completely different than it did an hour ago. What's going on here? The new design is dreadful.

Did you just go through a FF upgrade by any chance? Please let us know.

  • Y Firefox is set to delete cookies on shutdown. What happens if power is suddenly lost: are those cookies still readable and operational?

I was logged in on Facebook when my laptop suddenly lost its power. Will someone in service cente be able to enter my account upon opening my Firefox after repair? Windows 7 account is password protected, password is unknown toservicemen.

Firefox should keep the cookies in memory during the session and only write them to disk if Firefox is closed if cookies are kept beyond the session or if there is an allow exception to keep some cookies.
Be aware that protecting Windows with a password usually doesn't mean much because it may be possible to boot the computer via a CD-ROM or USB stick and access local disks directly.

  • What happened when using non-TX datasource connection in a Transaction?

    Hi,
I try to update a timestamp table in a transactional EJB method invocation.
The table is in the same db where the entity bean stores. I get the
connection via DataSource (non-transactional), and issue the sql statement,
    and then close the connection.
My question is: is my update part of the EJB transaction? If yes, how do
I manage to get the timestamp update out of the scope of the transaction
since I just want to timestamp no matter wether the EJB transactional method
invokcation succeed or fails. Do I need to explicitly suspend and resume
    the transaction?
    Thanks!

  • Backing up External drives to Time Machine - what happens if the drives are not connected at the same time?

I have 2 x 1 TB drive that I use interchangeably. 1 holds Video and the other Photos. I only have 1 connected when I'm working (using Premiere or Lightroom). I have a 2 TB NAS for making redundant copy of the other 2 drives. So far I've been doing the copying manually.
I'm considering of using Time Machine to make proper backup sets (though I'm always only interested in the latest set). I know that I can set Time Machine to backup to Nas over the network and include any external drives connected to the mac at the time.
    The questions now are:
Will Time Machine fails if it can't find any of the external drives?
Does Time Machine handle backing up the external drives one at a time - only when it's connected - without thinking the files on the "missing" (or disconnected) volume had been deleted?
    Thanks

    Hi Ronald,
I can't answer the TM question, but Tri-Backup handles those situations perfectly...

  • Trying to troubleshoot Firefox closing without remembering my sites. I have no Safe Mode - tried 3 methods listed in Help. What happened to Safe Mode?

This problem started last evening when I tried to close Firefox. Normally the program asks if I want it to remember the current tabs. If there are multiple copies open (or some flyer window pops up that I did not see), then I get the "you are about to close xx tabs". This usually means I have to close the odd flyer window then I can close normally.
This did not happen last evening - just got the "you are about to close xx tabs" right off. See below for steps I took.

If you haven't tried this, give it a try. It worked for me, hopefully it will work for you. In your version 3 firefox, disable all extensions, I had two plugins (doubletwist and joost, disable those if you have them). Then install firefox 5 by overwriting your version 3 firefox. It should work fine after that. I tried everything before, I gave that a last ditch shot. Oh yeah, before you install firefox 5, clear your cache of everything just to be sure.
    Hopefully that helps.

  • HT4528 Calendar under IOS7.0.2 has been changed. does not work the same. what happened to LIST mode (multiple entries being displayed in list format) or am i doing something wrong?

I got use to using Calendar app where multiple entries are stacked under IOS6.  Under iOS7.0.2 I enter a new appointment and after the entry I can not find the new appointment after i click on done.  Am I doing something incorrect HELP!

The list view does not appear to be among the "standard views" for the Calendar app in iOS 7.0.x.  You can still get the list view by going to the day view and hitting the search button (magnifying glass icon).

  • What happened to shuffle mode?

ITunes used to be great a shuffling tracks. Now, it's terrible. I have a huge music library and like to shuffle albums at times. When I turn this on, it shuffles albums but will also play too many albums by the same artist in a row. It's not random behavior. Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm using the latest version of iTunes.

That'd be good, if I didn't want to shuffle albums. But "shuffle albums" ends up shuffling albums, yes, but with an extremely heavy bias towards albums of one artist. I'd like to see this fixed. My previous iPods and current iPod Classic, when set to shuffle albums, does not do this. Neither does my iPhone, but I can only get albums to shuffle when using the Griffin Navigate (which is a function the iPhone ought to share with the other iPods).
And yes, I did leave feedback on Apple's feedback site just a few minutes ago.
Thanks for the response, my friend. I appreciate the suggestion.
