What happens now?

I ordered my iPhone 6 Plus 64 GB on September 16th (with a November 4th ship date) my account got charged for it last night but it wont finish "processing" until tomorrow since the banks were closed today (Sunday). It now shows up in my order history and doesn't say processing anymore just has a blank box for the tracking number. How long after this stuff happens does it take for your phone to start progressing to you? Or is it really not going to get here until November?

Its currently 7:30 am and I just checked my order status. I have a tracking number! Its suppose to be here by Wednesday at 8pm

I have a family pack, what happens now?
How can I manage the accounts I have previously had in my family pack?

Once migrated there is no connection between the previous sub-accounts and the master account. Each sub-account and the master account can be regarded as individual and separate for the purposes of the exercise. In each case all you have to do is go to http://me.com/move and follow the instructions, and it doesn't matter what order you do it in.
It’s wiser – and safer – to migrate your MobileMe sub-accounts first and your main MobileMe account last.
I did, and Apple itself now advises it.
The reasoning behind this is that if you migrate your main account first, from MobileMe to iCloud, that main account ceases to be a MobileMe account.  It becomes an iCloud account, instead.  And iCloud accounts can’t have sub-accounts.
In consequence, your MobileMe sub-accounts cease to be “sub-accounts of an existing MobileMe account” and their continued existence thus loses its former status and validity.  This threatens their own survival, orphaned and cast adrift in the electronic primordial soup.
So, it’s best to migrate them to iCloud first - whereupon they become fully-fledged individual iCloud accounts in their own right - while your main MobileMe account that has been sustaining them is still extant.  Then migrate your main MobileMe account as the final step, once your former sub-accounts are safely up and running as new iCloud accounts. There is otherwise the danger of a potential miscarriage during the migration of the sub-accounts and you could lose their names forever.
I had one main account, with my five permitted aliases and with two sub-accounts.
By following the procedure above, this became three iCloud accounts (each of which was given its own Apple ID during the transition) and my five aliases survive on the iCloud account that was formerly my main MobileMe account.
(All my MobileMe email addresses enjoyed the “@mac.com” domain name as well as the “@me.com” domain name and this survived the transition to iCloud, too.)
My credit card details appear only on the Apple ID that was formerly my main MobileMe account; they were not added automatically to the two new Apple IDs that were created when I migrated my sub-accounts to iCloud.  You’ll have to do that manually, if you want this facility, before you try to buy anything with them!
Note that the only way you can still have five aliases on an iCloud account is if you already had them when you migrated it from MobileMe to iCloud.  Normally, you can have only three aliases on an iCloud account.  So, if you want to create a new alias on your iCloud account, you will have to delete three of your existing ones (reducing you to two) in order to make room for it.
The new iCloud accounts created by migrating your MobileMe sub-accounts to iCloud can each now have three aliases of their own but they all have to be completely new ones; you can’t transfer to them any of the five from your former MobileMe main account.
Nor can you convert an iCloud alias into a full iCloud account.
And your iDisc is no more - with no substitute on iCloud.
So, you can now no longer synch files between your Macs unless, bizarrely, you also have an iPhone, an iPad or an iPod running iOS iWork linked to your iCloud account as well.  Amazingly, it’s been like that for a year.
Hutber’s Law seems to apply generally to iCloud.
(And to Lion, too, so far as I’m concerned. I much prefer Snow Leopard.)
So, think “Onwards and downwards!” when you embark on this one.
Above all, be extremely careful with your migrations from MobileMe to iCloud: allow yourself plenty of time to perform them, don’t make any assumptions, don’t do anything without first thinking through the potential consequences of your action and don’t allow yourself to get flustered into making an error that could lose you one of your precious email addresses forever.  (Which some people clearly have.)

  • I am on my fifth computer for some of my purchases - what happens now?

I have had my iPod since 2006 and during that time have changed computers several times.
I am now on my fifth authorised computer for the purchases made then, and am wondering what will happens when I buy a new computer.
Do I have to download all my purchases on to discs and them re-upload them onto the new computer?
or if I put all my music into Itunes match, will it automatically accept my new computer?

You can individually deauthorise computers directly on them (via the Store > Deauthorise This Computer menu option), but with 2 or more computers authorised you should also be able to log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need : authorising and deauthorising.
You should be able to continue re-downloading your purchases - but as there is no guarantee that they will remain in the store (record companies, as well as film studios etc, occasionally remove their items from the store), then you should also be keeping and maintaining your own backup of your downloads.

  • Computer crashed, what happens now?

Hello there! My desktop computer which had my entire music collection on it just crashed. I bought a new laptop but now I am wondering what will happen when I download itunes onto that laptop. When I plug in my ipod and update it, will my songs on my ipod be erased? Is there any way to get the songs that are already on my ipod to be stored back in itunes??
Also, it was my motherboard that fried on my desktop so I still have the hard drive. Does any know if there is a way I can get the information from that hard drive onto the hard drive on my new laptop???

Your iPod is going to think that it's being synced to a new/different iTunes library. Your iPod can only be synced with one computer at a time.  If you try to sync it with a new computer/iTunes library, it will replace the contents of the iPod with whatever is in the new library.
You should probably disable the autosync functionality first by going to Edit -> Preferences, clicking the Devices tab, and enabilng the prevent iPods,iPhones, and iPads from automatically syncing option.
Before doing anything else,  authorize the new computer with your iTunes Account.  In iTunes, choose Store -> Authorize This Computer and enter in the correct credentials. Either copy a backup file from your old computer to your new one or create a new backup of your iPod in iTunes before letting it sync.
Then right->click on your iPod Touch from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes and choose Backup. You might also want to take a look at this article to see what it all included in the backup.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
Now onto synced content such as music, videos, photos, etc.  For iTunes purchases you can copy them back into iTunes by choosing File -> Transfer Purchases.  For all other nonpurchased iTunes content, see this older post from another forum member Zevoneer covering different software availbable to assist you with this task.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
Once the backup has been made and all other synced content such as music, videos, and photos are back in your iTunes library, restore your iPod from that backup you made earlier.  Here is more on backing up and restoring your iPod.

Yes, I think most of us do understand what open source software is. It sounds as if you don't. Here's some information:
Open-source software (OSS) is computer software that is available in source code form: the source code and certain other rights normally reserved forcopyright holders are provided under an open-source license that permits users to study, change, improve and at times also to distribute the software.
Open source software is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner. Open-source software is the most prominent example of open-sourcedevelopment and often compared to (technically defined) user-generated content or (legally defined) open content movements.
    from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source_software
Yes, Tom Wu of Stanford wrote a paper on something called Secure Remote Access Protocol. It's a form of Asymetric Key Exchange and has nothing to do with hacking anything. It's actually intended to protect data.

  • I found My iPhone contacts on my friends Iphone we both have 4s! But we use the same apple ID and ICloud ID! How can undo what happened? all my private stuff is now on his phone!!! help me plz!!?

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
    1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
    2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
    3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
    4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
    5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
    6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.

You did not ruin the phone, you will need a sim card to activate the phone and then connect the phone to itunes and do a restore from back up.

Help! I just installed the latest update on my IPhone 4 and now I can't access my podcasts. When I hit the podcast I on, the screen goes blank for a second and then opens to the home screen with all my icons. What happened?

Try a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously you see the Apple logo and then release.
