What happens to content on Apple TV when I remove it from iTunes?
Need to relocate my MacBook Pro where I can't use it with Apple TV (an "extended temporary" condition). Want to remove Apple TV from iTunes and use the Apple TV directly with the iTunes Store and not via the MBP. Before I do this, I want to know what happens to the purchased content on the Apple TV after it is removed from iTunes. I want the Apple TV to retain the content that's currently on it. Apple TV has latest version 2 upgrade.

Why remove everything from itunes. Simply take your laptop away and do what ever it is you will be doing with it, while its away your tv will keep everything that's already on it. When it does eventually come back any content purchased on the tv will get transferred back to the laptop.

To change the Apple ID for purchases, go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID show, sign out, sign back in using the ID you want to use.

My computer crashed and I have to buy a new one. What happens to my Contacts, Photos, etc when i use the new computer? I do not have an iTunes backup.
Do you have the iCloud set up? If you don't you need to buy a third party software that will do it for you when you plug your phone into the new computer. You can google: iPad/iPhone/iPod to Computer Transfer. You have to pay for the software but it's really a life saver and you get free updates for life. It'll save you a lot of pain and suffering in the future. I've used it many times.

Secondly, if i delete a song from itunes,is that song removed from the mac and is the space freed up?If not then what should I do to free up space when i delete songs from itunes?Your MBP will support a 3T HDD provided it is formatted correctly and has sufficient power. Most large HDDs require an outboard power source.
When you delete songs from iTunes you will get a message if you want to send it to trash. If you send it to trash, space will be freed up only when you empty trash. An individual song does not consume much space so if your HDD is becoming full, more drastic action s should be considered, such as moving an entire file to an external HDD.

Apple TV2 using bandwidth while streaming from iTunes
I am wondering if anyone has solved the elusive issue as to why my recently purchased Apple TV2 is using my ISP bandwidth when using home sharing from iTunes on my MB. I am using an Airport Extreme (less than 2 years old) with the latest firmware, and this issue is still occurring. I do not have iCloud, or iTunes Match enabled. I have never had this issue when using my Airport Express running to my home stereo, but suddenly i've used 1.46G of bandwidth on Saturday night while streaming 3 hours of music using Apple TV2.
While I am a self admitted Apple junkie, this issue causes me great concern and not what I would expect from an Apple product.
Any help would be appreciated.Okay, try this simple test. Disconnect your modem/router from the internet (i.e. unplug the coax cable or phone line) and then see if you can access your music on the Apple TV (under the "Computers" menu). If the music and videos still work then that indicates that you aren't streaming that content using iCloud or iTunes Match.
However, if it doesn't work (can't access content) then that proves that you are indeed (somehow) streaming from the internet. In this case I'd check to make certain that ALL of the content you are trying to access is PHYSICALLY stored on you local Mac/PC and that the content is reachable via the iTunes app running on that same Mac/PC. If it is then next I'd do a factory restore on the Apple TV and then see what happens. -

Your iTunes account shouldn't be affected, you will only remove all of your content from the iPad.
Depending upon the problems that you are having, have you tried a soft-reset to see if that helps : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If you do a complete reset then first copy off all of your purchases to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases on iTunes 11), and take a copy of any importand documents etc -
I backed up the phone and updated to ios 7.0.4 which took about 2 hours. Now the phone powers on and says hello in different lagnuages and says to slide to setup. I am asked to choose a network and then if I want to setup as a new iphone, restore from icloud or restore from itunes backup. When I select restore from itunes the screen says "connected to itunes". In itunes I select restore from backup however after a few seconds itunes says that it cannot restore beause there is not enough free space on the iphone. During this attempt to restore I see the home screen and my screen saver and everything for a split second, then the phone powers off.
I see in itunes that all of my photos and data are still on the phone however I cannot get into the iphone.Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost. -
How do I prevent itunes from moving my music from its original place ie folders in an external drive when I play music from itunes. I have all my music in artist folders and separated by MPG3/MPG4 and FLAC folders within the artist folder and itunes moves the track/s whenever i try and load selected music to my ipod/iphone. I've tried to find some sort of preference to prevent this, but no joy? What am I missing?
Try opening iTunes preferences. Then click on advanced tab. Then uncheck "Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library." By default, iTunes copies music to its own media folder when you use iTunes to play the music.
