What happens to Logic work files after deleting Logic?

I recently had to delete the Logic program off of my Snow Leapord ran Mac Mini after installing Mountain Lion, because Logic said it wouldn't work with Lion. In order to solve this, I will get the newest version of Logic (of course compatible with Lion). My question is however, all my logic work files that are of course still saved and very much needed, all transformed into individual folders with content in them that I have no idea are. The folders still however have the extention .logic under them and all my audio files used in these projects are still saved, so once I get my new version of Logic.. all these files will be up and running like before, correct?
I would just like some clarity on this because I've been working on these projects for over a year and I'd think I'd lose my mind if they all got corrupted because I upgraded to Lion...

Hi
There is no need to buy a new version. All you needed to do was run Software Update, or download the updater manually from Apple Downloads.

re-Install the Logic you have and update it.

  • What happened to ADOBE workspaces files after being downloaded before retirement?

What happened to ADOBE workspaces files after being downloaded before retirement?

I had this problem as well! I was working on one of several projects I had, I'm pretty sure they were saved on the computer, my computer started to chug, I reset it, and they ALL disappeared! I can't find any of the files anywhere on the hard drive, but I also can't sign into the cloud to see if they somehow got moved. I reset again, and still nothing.
When I try to log into the cloud it tells me the sync failed. Since I only just signed up for the subscription I don't know if it's common for it to go down, or what.

  • What happens to migrated idisk files after June 30th.

what happens to migrated idisk files after June 30th?

Just to be clear, there are no 'migrated files'. If you migrate, the iDisk remains untouched and accessible exactly as before (though you may need to sign in at System Preferences>MobileMe again). Whether or not you migrate, the iDisk will be teminated at the end of June and its contents erased.
iCloud does not provide any equivalent facility, so you will need to find a third-party solution. This page examines some options:

  • If I delete a file in iCloud, what happens to the local file in ~/Library/Mobile Documents ?

If I delete a file in iCloud, what happens to the local file in ~/Library/Mobile Documents ? Does it get deleted to?
    Hope somebody can help.
    Thx.

I'm pretty certain that it gets deleted as well. If you try and open that mobile documents folder, it takes you to the iCloud drive folder. I've been searching for this same issue for the last 24 hours also as I inadvertently deleted my Keynote files stored on iCloud drive thinking I was just temporarily deleting Keynote from my iPad when upgrading to the latest iOS 8 version. (I needed space and thought, "Oh, I'll just reinstall later... Turns out I was in the iCloud storage area, not in my iPad storage area at the time and therefore deleted all my iCloud stored presentations. From every device.)

  • What happens to my work when I cancel my subscription?

Assuming I have subscribed to Creative Cloud for some years, and some circumstance leads me to cancel my subscription, what happens to my work after cancellation. How do I open these native files (.indd, .ai, .psd) ?
If I am a subscriber to Creative Cloud, can I share native files with someone who has CS 6 or will the files be incompatible?

Pauls Sloss the following information is available within the Creative Cloud FAQ - http://www.adobe.com/in/products/creativecloud/faq.html
Can the new CC applications export to CS6?
Many of the Creative Cloud desktop applications provide the ability to export files to the Creative Suite 6 version of that same application. This allows you to export your work to Creative Suite 6, which is available via a perpetual software license.
Adobe plans to continue to support the ability to export to Creative Suite 6 in applications where it is available when it ships.
New features added to the desktop applications after Creative Suite 6 may not be supported in the exported file, or supported by the Creative Suite 6 application.
Which CC applications support export to CS6?
The following applications support the ability to export to the CS6 versions of the application:
    Photoshop
    InDesign®
    Illustrator
    Flash® Professional
    Dreamweaver®
Applications not listed here may not support exporting to Creative Suite 6, and may not do so in future releases.
New features added to the above list after Creative Suite 6 may not be supported in the exported file, or supported by the Creative Suite 6 application.
What happens if I decide to stop my membership?
You will continue to have access to free Creative Cloud member benefits, and if you saved your work to your computer you will continue to have access to those files. You will no longer have access to the Creative Cloud desktop applications or most of the services that are components of a Creative Cloud membership.
If you purchased an annual individual membership plan and you cancel after the first 30 days but before meeting the 12-month commitment date, you will be charged 50% of the remaining amount left on your contract.
What happens to my files in the cloud if I cancel my membership?
If you cancel your paid membership you will still have access to the free level of membership, which provides 2GB of storage. You will have a 90-day grace period to download your files to your local machine, and delete online files to get your cloud storage down to 2GB (or to purchase additional storage separately if you choose). If you leave more than 2GB of files in your cloud storage for more than 90 days, you may lose access to some or all of your files.

How to reduce the size of file after delete some datas?

    Hi,
What BDB release are you using? If it's one of the latest releases, then what you are looking for is the DB->compact() method:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17076_01/html/api_reference/C/dbcompact.html
The DB->compact() method compacts Btree, Hash, and Recno access method databases, and optionally returns unused Btree, Hash or Recno database pages to the underlying filesystem. Please let me know if it helps.

What happens to my podcast files stored on idisk for itunes?
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/mister-radio/id396811856

Any webspace that provides enough data transfer to cope with your podcasts will do fine. Although check the terms & conditions of whichever webhost you go for, as some may have restrictions on just using their webspace for externally linked files, rather than a website as well.
How much data transfer your podcasts use will depend on how popular they are. MobileMe webhosting allowed 200GB of data transfer per month. If you never went over that, then as long as the new host matches or exceeds that you'll be ok.

Yes and no, depending on which types of documents you have.  Word processing and spreadsheets go to Pages and Numbers respectively.  There is no equivalent for draw and database in iWork.  Others have reported varying success with converting those documents to third party apps, however.

Nothing.  Deleting the backup only deletes the backup.  It doesn't delete anything else from iCloud or from your devices/computers.

  • Cm.jar is working even after deleting the jar from Server

    Hi,
To update the environment with the new changes we had manually copied the cm.jar into the respective folders but due to some class errors Deployment was not successful,So as a matter of trial we had deleted cm.jar from the respective folders and then we had ran the initialsetup,
Strange thing what we have observed is that all the custom logic which was initially deployed through cm.jar was still exisiting in the applicationserver and are getting executed smoothly
This is the process what we have followed
    Method 1:
    1)     Stop server
    2)
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/etc/conf/root/WEB-INF/lib
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/etc/conf/XAI-APP/WEB-INF/lib
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/ splapp/businessapp
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/ splapp/ standalone/lib
    3)     Run InitialSetup
    4)     Start Server
    Method 2:
    1)     Stop server
    2)     Set Exploded directories to true
    3)     Initial Setup
    4)
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/splapp/applications/root/WEB-INF/lib
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/ splapp/applications /XAI-APP/WEB-INF/lib
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/ splapp/businessapp
    Copy cm.jar to SPLBASE/ splapp/ standalone/lib
    5)     Run InitialSetup
    6)     Start Server
    Method 3:
    1)     Cm packaging.
Even after removing cm.jar from all places manually my custom code which I deployed initially is working. I could run custom batch and custom algorithm. Very Strange. I am not sure what I missed or where application is referring to.
We want the old code to be removed permanently from server? Can you anyone help?
    Thanks
    shiva

    Hi Mr Shankar,
Even if you have deleted the cm.jar file from respective location. It do exist in splapp.war file.If you will extract that file you will find the cm.jar file in /splapp/web-inf/lib/cm.jar location. So whenever you will run the initialsetup it will restore the cm.jar.This thing is happening in your case also.So delete the file from splapp.war and rebuild the war. This will solve your issue.
Hope it will work for you.

  • What happened to the Adobe file dialog in CS4?

Am I missing something or is the adobe open file dialog gone in CS4? I loved the ability to assign favorite folders on the left margin since I have so many files and drilling down into folders is such a repetitive chore! What happened?
Also, don't know if anyone else has encountered this but it appears that since I installed CS4 master collection several of my most often used open type fonts are no longer recognized: Cronos Pro and Myriad Pro.

Yup, the "Adobe Dialog" seems to be gone, gone, gone ...
In terms of the fonts, where were those fonts installed? I also have full families of Cronos Pro and Myriad Pro installed on all my systems outside of the suite and have not encountered any problems is their use after installing the CS4 Master Collection. Are those same fonts still visible in the Windows Fonts Control Panel and accessible from other applications? If so, you may want to delete all the
AdobeFnt##.lst files on your system and then startup a suite program and see if that fixes the AWOL fonts.

  • Using iDVD project file after deleting original iMovieHD

I've been using iMovieHD and iDVD to convert my home movies from miniDV tapes to DVDs. I've been putting two one-hour tapes together into one iMovie and then creating an iDVD project with themes, chapters, etc.
Each two-hour iMovie file takes up >20 GB. Before I burned my DVD, the iDVD project file took up only a few MB. After I burned the DVD, the file size grew to >4 GB, so I figured (erroneously, it seems) that this new file package contained all of the information needed to keep burning DVDs. Threfore, I deleted the original massive iMovie file and kept only the iDVD project file.
Now every time I try to load the iDVD file, the program lists all the missing files and, other than my themes and chapter titles, there is nothing left of the original project.
Am I missing something here? What's taking up all that space (4 GB)? Am I completely screwed? Is the only way to make new copies of my project to copy the DVD that I made?
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Jay,
As John has said, you should have created a Disc Image of your DVD project before deleting the iMovie file. When working in iMovie/iDVD you must not delete ANYTHING that is in the project, not even the iMovie trash can, which often mysteriously fills up with "stuff", until you are sure you are finished editing and then have saved a Disc Image to burn further DVD's from. The files you deleted from iMovie were the reference for the file you were using in iDVD. Without that iMovie file, your iDVD project will only show what was created there, like your theme page.
Sorry that's bad news. Your options now are re-create your iMovies from your tapes, OR, rip the DVD you have back to your Mac to burn more DVD's.

  • What happened to TGA/Targa file format support?

Tonight I tried to import some old scans of photos—I'm cleaning up my files and organizing. Well, back in the day (1993 or so) the scanning system I worked on used Targa (.tga) as its output format. So I have a number of them.
When I tried to import them into Aperture, it would not accept them. I tried to drag and drop and do a manual import. On the manual import, the thumbnails wouldn't even appear.
I get that Targa is not a common file format these days, and I don't see Targa in the list of supported file formats for Aperture 3, but what happened? TGA is in the list of supported file formats for Aperture 2.
I'm a little concerned about having to convert all my Targas to TIFFs, but that's not the end of the world. What frightens me is: how many files did Aperture just throw away when I converted my library from Aperture 2 to Aperture 3? I don't know whether I imported any of my old Targas before upgrading to Aperture 3, but if I did, are they now gone?

I seriously doubt they were deleted. Open up the library package folder then search for .tga within that folder.

  • Some organs don't play in new Logic Express files after JamPacks installed

After loading only the instruments from the Symphony Orchestra and World Music GarageBand Jam Packs, I lost the ability to hear most of the organs available in Logic Express and all of the organs available in GarageBand after inserting them into Logic Express tracks. These same organ sounds still play in any Logic Express file set up prior to the installation of the JamPacks and they continue to play in GarageBand. Can an uninstall/reinstall of Logic Express 7.2.3 be a fix for this or is there an easier way to return the lost instruments to Logic Express?
1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo iMac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Midisport 4x4, iControl

The loss of instrument sounds in Logic Express had nothing to do with the installation of GarageBand JamPacks. The midi channel setting in the Inspector box of the Arrange window in Logic Express needed to be set to channel 1 to get midi data from other than channel 1 to play some of the inserted CoreAudio instruments. I don't understand what's going on but now I'm able to get the instruments that would not play.

  • What happens to the original photo after editing?  Does it get replaced by the edited photo?

I just bought my first iPhone(5).  On Android, when editing a photo, the original stays in your gallery and the edited photo gets placed right next to it.  So what I want to know is, When editing a photo in the photo app, what happens to the original since it would be nice to be able to make different edits of it.

That is an excellent question. This is definitely not the programmed behavior of Photoshop Elements. Normally, when you edit a file, a new copy of the file is created (the original is simply left alone). This new copy of the file will have "_edited-1" added to the end of the name. It should definitely not be adding $ to the name at all.
Just as a test, create a new user account on your computer, and try editing another image to see if does the same thing there. However, I suspect there is another application on your computer that is modifying how files are saved, deleted, and renamed.
