What happens to my iPhone when my contract runs out & I get Gen 2 iPhone?
Right, my iPhone was activated last November when it was launched over here in the UK. I'm assuming once activated, I can change the sim card in the iPhone and it should work alright? I haven't tried switching sim cards before but don't see the point of paying for the monthly contract and also paying for a pay & go sim.
So when my O2 contract ends in May 2009, am I right in thinking that i'll be able to give my iPhone to my wee sister and she can put her Pay & Go O2 sim in it and work away, whilst I take out a new contract for the 2nd Gen iPhone (assuming that there will be one).
If this is the case, everyone will be looking on ebay next year to find genuine 2nd hand unlocked iPhones that will work with their sim cards without a contract. True or false?
It just sounds like this at the minute...
If anyone wanted to have/use my iPhone when my contract ends - they would simply have to enter another contract!
By the time my contract ends, my iPhone will be in pretty used condition with scratches, blemishes and who do you think will want to pay contract prices to use a secondhand grubby iPhone?
Will we be stuck with iPhones that will be useless in a years time? unless someones willing to pay for a contract to use the old 2nd hand iPhone (it's a bit like some offering you to buy their old Nokia 3310 (Remember them!?) and asking you to pay at least £35 a month to use it!) by the time this happens no one will want the Gen 1 iPhone because it will be outdated by other devices.
Maybe i'm wrong, but i suppose we'll just have to see if O2 offer a deal to current iPhone contract holders when a new decive is launched or our contracts end.

If you were to not requalify for Elite status before the end of the 2014 calendar year, then your status would be downgraded to core in February 2015. Any points in your account at that time would be converted into certificates down to the $5 level with any remaining points to be forfeited. For example, if you had 300 points in your account, then a $5 certificate (250 points = $5) would be issued and 50 points would be forfeited.

I like the new iOS 7 for iphone... But i think it's not a good idea to allow switch the iphone on flight mode when it is locked.. What happens if your iphone is stolen or lost? You couldn't be able to locate it using find my iphone... Can i remove this from the bottom menu?
And have your phone set to require a passcode before it can be accessed.

Try Settings > General > Reset > Reset network connections.
Other basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, and restore. -

Once you have restored your new phone from the backup of your old phone and ensured that everything is working correctly, you should first turn off "find my phone" on the old phone and then erase it, before you get rid of it. -
When will AT&T / iPhone contract run out?
My first computer was the Apple IIe in 1984 and I have had nothing but Mac's since then running my manufacturing business on 12 Mac's. I have never owned a PC and never will.
I would like an iPhone but will not move to AT&T for any reason. Currently I have let my contract run out with Alltel/Verizon in anticipation of the iPhone leaving the AT&T grips.
Will this happen soon or should I go ahead and look at the Blackberry's?Strange reason to move, especially considering that Apple has had far less Bluetooth support for two years.
It was one of the reasons for me to move, with the primary reason being terrible reception at my house and at a number of the places I frequent most. Not the same with AT&T for me. And with the phone I was using, the only way to sync contact info with the Address Book on my Mac was via bluetooth. Apple supported syncing contact info with the Address Book on my Mac via bluetooth and iSync with the phone I was using, but Verizon crippled this with the phone. I could do so by paying Verizon an additional monthly and by using an app provided by Verizon, but with a Winblows compatible version only.
I don't need to sync contact info with my iPhone via bluetooth. I can sync contact info direct with the Address Book on my Mac via the iTunes sync process, or over the air with a MobileMe or Gmail account which came later. All I wanted to do with my "dumb" Verizon phone was sync contact info with the Address Book on my Mac. The only supported method for this was via bluetooth which Apple supported with my phone using iSync, but Verizon purposely crippled to get another $2 or $5 per month out of me. They can rot.
The iPhone doesn't even allow theming.
So what? My 16 year old niece probably cares about themes, but not me, and the same for most of the grownups I know. Strange reason for someone to want to stay with Verizon, or to be a Verizon fanboy.
Unlike Verizon's (or ATTs or Sprint's) RIM and WM smartphones, which the owner can modify all they want, and download anything from anywhere, and usually have full stereo and keyboard Bluetooth support.
All I know is Verizon is known for crippling their phones in various ways for additional revenue. I know a couple of people using a Blackberry Storm with Verizon. They can only purchase/download music with their Storm via Verizon's music store. Not sure what they can use on their computer for transferring music or if music acquired elsewhere can be transferred to their phone. Music for the iPhone is not limited to music that was purchased from the iTunes store. If they want visual voicemail access with their phone, they must pay Verizon an additional monthly fee. If they want turn by turn GPS voice navigation, they must pay Verizon an additional (expensive) monthly fee, and on, and on. -

Any time you sync an iphone/ipod touch/ipad to a new computer, then the current content will be erased and replaced with content form the new computer. You need to copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer to your new one. -

And yes. Keychain does still work.
But why-oh-why do Apple have to give contradictory information yet again in the sign up process? It seems they just want to cover their arses so much that they would rather give out misleading information, that something might go wrong, just in case it does, than tell us everything will be OK & then if we lose data, we, (Americans with a penchant for litigation), are automatically going to sue thier bollocks off.
This happens so many times with pop-up warnings. I'm running two macs & an iphone and I very nearly didn't go for Lion & icloud and seriously considered going back to Windows. Only a chance conversation in an Apple store stopped me and made me persevere through the warnings.

Apple will continue to have service replacements for the iPhone 5 for a long time to come. So if you go to Apple for an exchange, you'll get the same model of iPhone that you turn in. You will not get a 5C.
As to the price change, there may be nothing to be done, but if you wanted to get the iPhone replaced but that the Genius could not or would not do the replacement at that time, talk to the manager of the Apple Store, explain that you were in and reported the problem before the price increase but could not get a replacement then. Perhaps they'll be able to do something for you. If it was your choice not to replace the iPhone, though, then you're probably stuck, just as with any product price increase when you previously elected not to purchase.

iTunes 7 will convert your existing library, but iTunes 6 and earlier will not recognize the new library format.

Front Row is no longer supported. However, there are several applications that can do the same job for you (quite nicely, actually) and that work with ML. Try searching the Mac App Store. Also: there are uncountable threads about this over at the Front Row forum.
