What happens to my saved gaming progress upon an iOS restore?

Just as the question implies. Upon an iOS restore, would I be able to recover all of my gaming data if I have backed it up on iTunes? And in opposition would I be unable to retrieve my data if I restored as a new device? Please help!

The first step in the Restore process is to create a backup (click Yes when asked). After iOS reinstalation, the last step is to restore from that backup (chose Restore from Backup and select the latest one when given the option). Tis loads ll your data back on the iPod.

iTunes Match was not working after I upgraded to iOS 6. It was solved by connecting the iPhone to the computer, backing up the iPhone, and then doing a restore to factory settings. After that everything is working fine.

Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
Settings>FaceTime
Settings>GameCenter
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

What happens if I choose to NEVER upgrade to IOS 6?

There's no reason it should stop working. You may find yourself in a position where apps you want to run start requiring iOS 6. Be careful when updating apps to read the fine print on them before you do so.

To update, I also just phoned Apple this morning, there's not much they could do at all. My personal opinion is that the number that was recycled (when I got it changed just very recently for the Android) must have somehow previously been linked to an pre-existing Apple ID. There was nothing they could do. They had me do numerous things that unfortunately had no successful results.
They even had me unregister my product from the Apple website, again, no success.
He did, however, say that there is an update going through beta testing at the moment that should, more than likely, have a patch in it for this particularily known issue since it's been an issue for awhile. So within a couple of months when it's released, I'm hoping this will fix it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed until then.
Turning iMessage off is the temporary solution that works for me. So I'm happy enough for that. Anyone else who would want to text her, would have to do the same.

What happened to file saving options in Lion?!

I recently upgraded my Mac to OS X Lion and Photoshop CS5 seems to be working normally, albeit a little sluggishly, since the upgrade. However, when I create a new Photoshop file, create some layers, then "Save As", all my normal format options are missing. The only choices I am offered are Large Document Format, Photoshop RAW and TIFF.
If I open a JPG or PSD file, there's no problem. The "Save As" command gives me a normal file saving window with the normal format options. But a new file transforms itself into something totally alien! What's going on here?

I think you're right. I was creating some banner text and did stretch the document borders out to quite a large size for convenience. I have since moved half the text to a second document and my PSD doesn't turn into a pumpkin when I open the "Save As" window.

HT4929 Even after I move to icloud, Lion download, etc., what happens to my saved email file folders? Do I leave them? Move them? Lose them?

I have downloaded Lion, etc, have a moblie me account that I have not moved to the cloud.
I have a lot of email folders with emails and links to websites, etc. that I don't want to lose.
After June 30th, will I still have these saved folders if I've moved to icloud prior to that date,
or do I need to move everything to a hard drive or a gmail account? Not sure what to do to
save all of this.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
All your mail should migrate from Mobile Me to your iCloud Mail account. If you are at all worried, alt-drag the mail to a folder in your 'on my Mac' account to copy it, to serve as a back up.

If I upgrade an app? Say Angry Birds, what happens to my saved data?

App store is telling me there's an upgrade available to my paid version of angry birds, new levels etc included. Question though: if I upgrade, will I lose my progress? Having dedicated far too much of my life to this game already, I'm not sure I want to take the risk!!!

Erasing Content and Settings -- What happens to the saved apps in itunes?

Hey all,
I've been thinking about avoiding to do a HUGE backup with my ipod touch 2nd gen 32GB to install iOS4 by erasing all the content and settings of my existing ipod. By HUGE, I mean, leaving your ipod to backup for 6 hours and it's less than 25% done. I tried a few times and gave up each time because it was taking ridiciously long. Anyways, not the issue I'm asking.
I was wondering if I erase all the content and settings from the ipod itself through Settings > General > Reset (or something like that), can I retrieve the applications saved on my computer?
Can i also retrieve my apps if I were to restore my ipod from itunes and set it as a new ipod?
I see my apps from itunes and I'm hoping they have the data saved from my last sync, but I'm worried if I start over with a 'new' ipod, they won't transfer over for whatever reason.
(...though judging by all the forum posts on how iOS4 is pure evil, waiting doesn't seem so bad..)

Got my Sidebar back but when I hit refresh to get the latest podcasts, the option to click on Downloads on the sidebar no longer appears!
This was a great feature since you could see exactly what was most recent...now I have to go thru everything?? Yipes - I've got about 100 podcasts and no way to scroll thru them to see the latest. Help!

Google an app that will backup your text messages. There are 100's of them. I use iBackupBot.
FYI - if/when you switch to Android, do yourself a favor and disable iMessage first before disconnecting your iPhone.

itunes wouldn't let me do it because "find my iphone" is enabled in iphone settings. Moreover i was able to remove device from icloud. But itunes still asking me to turn off "find my iphone" from iphone settings. What i am missing here? is it because I entered phone number while erasing ios device from icloud or something else?
