What happens to published single edition apps if I cancel my CC subscription?

Are single edition apps published with adobe publisher single edition through creative cloud still available for download if I cancel my creative cloud subscription?

Stop paying the subscription fee and the software stops working
If you want a one time fee, go to Creative Suite 6

  • What cloud solution includes single edition DPS publishing?

    hi,
when you subscribe to Cloud there is an option to choose "SINGLE APP" (instead of the whole cloud which gives access to included all adobe software).
So, if you choose "single app" and INDESIGN as that application, will you be able to publish single edition DPS apps as much as you want???
    thanks for clarifying.
    best regards, janne

No. You must get a full Creative Cloud subscription to publish Single Edition apps.

  • Creative Cloud membership for Single Edition App?

Trying to publish single edition app and I am thinking that a creative cloud membership is the way to go. Just wondering...
If my Creative Cloud membership expires, does it effect anything I have submitted to the App Store? Or is it more like,"once it's up, it's up" ?
Also do I have to be both a Developer and a Creative Cloud member? Can I use the account of another Developer along with my own  Creative Cloud Single Edition to make an App? Or do both accounts need to belong to the same person for this to work?
    Thanks for any advice

If you CCM subscription expires that will not effect the app which you submitted to App store.
I would suggest you to use your own Apple developer and CCM to make app instead of other person.

  • Can you publish a DPS single edition app to the android and googleplay marketplace?

I can't find a simple answer anywhere. On one of the pages it says "Publish everywhere- Every device, every platform' but it does not confirm whether this is possible for single edition apps or how it can be done. Can anyone help? Much appreciated.

Hi, this is iPad only. Please see this table: Digital Publishing Suite Help | DPS supported feature list

  • Is the single edition app that comes with creative cloud just for apple publishing or can I publish on both apple and android?

Is the single edition app that comes with creative cloud just for apple publishing or can I publish on both apple and android? I'm only seeing information on apple intergration.

You’ll need either a Pro or Enterprise account. And you will have to publish any non-iPad app as multi folio. Single edition, regardless of your plan, is iPad only.

  • Single Edition Apps

Apologies for a newbie kind of question, but I'm wanting to know about publishing a single use app via our Adobe CC subscription.
The idea is a learning exercise to design + publish an app that I'd want to update fairly regularly - its tied to sports stats and infographics with interactivity, which I'd want to update through the season (at times every 1-2 weeks), but it could be 14 or so times in a year. Is this practical?
I would favour each update submitted to have fairly substantial additions each time as I want to give anyone who downloads it extra, new stuff each time… but do Apple get frustrated or tetchy about constant and/small updates to single edition apps? Do they critique stuff?
    The app would be FREE.
Also, if an update is accepted, do people who have downloaded a previous version get notified, or would I have to do this via Twitter or similar.
    Thanks.
    Craig

Thanks for the replies, Neil and Bob
I though this might be the case - I understand their reasons. Its almost like there needs to be an inbetween license for small publishers maybe, for non-commercial apps. Clearly what I want to do is beyond the single edition license, but the cost of the other license types is simply beyond me.
However, I think I can still tackle it. What I have developing does have plenty of interactive content for users (certainly cpompared to some stuff I have seeen), but I may just have to prepare it all as more of a season's 'retrospective analysis', then submit it to Apple to avoid constant updates.
Above all, its a process of learning DPS - that's the main thing. Its really just starting to make its presence felt here in New Zealand, so its a pretty exciting product… especially for an old print dog liek me who needs some new tricks!
    Cheers guys.

  • Updating serial number single edition app?

    Hello,
SO I designed an app for a client. They wanted to use single edition. I built the app out and put in the serial number from adobe. After building out the app and testing it we realized we needed to make some changes. SO the changes have been made. Everything is finalized and approved. I went to rebuild the app. I can't, it needs an updated serial number. Ok, not a problem...I asked this question on this forum earlier and was told to contact tech support and they would handle this.  They haven't helped at all. They said that the single edition doesn't support updating an app. They said that we need to use the professional edition. Look, I understand why they don't let people constantly update the single edition app. But we haven't even published this app to the Apple store yet. We built a test app and upon realizing we needed to fix a few things, want to just simply update it so we can actually publish it. Everybody we talked to today has nothing to offer in terms of help.
We called the sales phone number. They have no idea what is going on. They don't even know the cost of the professional Edition. We ask them for a page where we can look at pricing. Oh guess what, that page doesn't exist yet. I guess they haven't gotten around to having a page where people can compare pricing options.
The client is getting frustrated and so am I. Can anyone help me contact someone who knows what they are talking about as far as reissuing a serial number for a product that hasn't even been used to publish an app in the app store yet?
And yes, I know that the CC subscribtion makes more sense. I didnt make that call. The client did. He made it based on the non-help of the sales team at Adobe when he decided to make this app. Just looking for a little help from anybody so we can wrap this project up.
I have already suggested the next time that he join the CC. That doesnt help us right now.
    Thanks.

Hi 5rockets I've PM you with more details

  • Why "Single Edition-App" and not "Professional"?

    Hi, I've got 2 questions :
    1. We've  changed our Single Edition Account (two weeks ago) to a Professional Account.
Written in the DPS App Builder-panel is unfortunately still "Single-Edition-App."
How can I change this or is that normal?
    2. How can I make an App for the iPad AND for iPhone to distribute on the App Store?
Is that possible with my professional Account? And what's the correct App-Type for that? I only can choose "Multi Folios", "Multi Folios with iTunes Abonnement", "Adobe Content Viewer".
    Thanks for help

    Hi Phillipe,
you need to rebuild your app using DPS App Builder if you want to change the app type, it does not automatically change when you switch to Professional Edition. You will then also have to resubmit it to the App Store.
Professional Edition allows you to create an app for iPad and iPhone. The app type depends on the kind of content you are offering with your app. Multiple versions of the same folio aimed at different devices are called renditions. You would need to choose "Multi Folio" for that. If you want to enable your readers to subscribe to your publication you would need to select "Multi Folio with iTunes Subscription".
Your second question cannot be answered comprehensively in a forum post as it involves just too many things. There is a lot of documentation available on the DPS help pages on the topics of the different app types, app creation and app distribution. Maybe start with this article Understanding different types of DPS apps and take it from there. There is also a Publishing Companion Guide available to download from the the DPS Dashboard which I can recommend.

  • Update an Single edition app with different (pro) account

    Hello,
I have question regarding updating SE apps.
    1. From what I understand you can still create single edition apps for ipads after May 1st with a pro account, correct?
    2. If I create an app now, with my CC account, can I later, after May 1st, create a professional account under a different name (company name, not mine) and update my old app? (assuming that my apple account and certificates stays the same)
    Thank you
    Alex

    1. Yes.
    2. Yes.

  • Single Edition App question regarding using the activation number

    Hello,
I am producing a single edition app for a client. We have purchased a single edition package and I have the serial number. I have created the app and done all the certificates and provisioning stuff...
My question is now that it is built and I would like to download a version for testing purposes it is asking me for the serial number to activate it.
After I enter the serial number will I be able to go back and make changes to it as needed before I publish? Or how does this work? I just want to make sure I dont activate this and am then stuck with the results if changes need to be made. I'm sure the answer is fairly obvious but just wanted to check with people who have had past experiences. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

Yes, you should be able to make changes, but I can’t let this pass without reminding you that you could have gotten unlimited apps for year and every Creative Cloud application and service for less than you paid for that one app.

  • If we upgrade to a Professional Edition DPS license can we create an unlimited number of Single edition apps for iPad, iPhone and Android devices?

I work for a organisation based in Sydney and we have a team license for creative cloud (single edition).
We have been producing single folio apps for the iPad and want to continue this through 2015.
At the moment we can only create apps for the iPad platform.  If we upgrade to a Professional Edition DPS license can we create an unlimited number of Single edition apps for iPad, iPhone and Android devices?
We do not need multi-folio apps as we are not a publishing company.

    Thanks Neil
I sent an email yesterday and am awaiting a reply.  Here is my email for reference.
    Matt
I work for a large organisation based in Sydney and we have a team license for creative cloud (single edition).
We have been producing single folio apps for the iPad through Indesign and the App builder.  We now want to produce apps for iPhone, iPad and Android devices.
If we upgrade to a Professional Edition DPS license can we create an unlimited number of apps for iPad, iPhone and Android devices?
We are not a publishing company so we will produce a small number of the apps.  If you could get back to me with a solution and approx price that would be great.
    Thanks for your time

  • Problem with single edition App v32

I'm trying to create a single edition App using v32, but when I download the ".ipa" and transfer to my iPad the app opens in blank.
It seams that there is no folio inside it, but I have already tried with different folios and zips, and the same problems occurred.
    Can anyone help me?
I already have an App and I'm editing the App with the new folio to update it.
I'm testing in an iPad air with iOS8.
I don't know what can I do to fix it.

    hi Bob,
Thanks for response. It is so frustrating.
This is the rejection message i got. I am only trying to update an existing iPad only app.
Have latest version of everything. And i did a complete rebuild  but have re-linked them all and then done the build (viewer version 32).
Get no errors when i build and the development and distribution app are put onto my mac.
when i look in my adobe viewer on iPad it is fine. but when i try and look at the loaded .ipa ..i get splash screen then blank screen...

  • Single Edition App Requiring to Activate App

    Hi
I am in DPS app builder and completed all the steps for Single Edition App. After clicking on "Create App" and "Finish" It took me to a screen where I can see my app. But there is a "Activate App" link which requires me to enter a serial number. I have Creative Cloud membership for Indesign, Photoshop and Lightroom.
How would the DPS app builder recognize me as the cc member, what steps and how do it do those ?
    Thanks in advance.
    -MP

You have to have a full CC membership to get access to Single Edition. It is not included when you use CC to get individual products.
    Neil

  • Will the version of DPS included with CC allow building unlimited single edition apps?

    Wow...what a weird system..i already typed inm y question
    so here it is again:
does creative cloud allow you to build unlimited single edition apps?> will it in the near future?
i heard rumours from a reliable source that it would
    thanks

DPS single edition will be what is included with Creative Cloud, but I'm not sure if it will include this functionality or not. Moving the discussion over to the DPS forum for clarification.

  • How do I Activate Single Edition App

    Hi,
I have my project in the DPS App Builder and in order to download it to my iPad for review I am being asked to activate my Single Edition App by purchasing a serial number.  I have gone to Creative Cloud and paid for a CC Single-App membership for inDesign.  Am I supposed to be emailed a serial number in order to proceed?  What is the procedure or have I purchased the wrong App?

    Hi Bob,
    Thanks for that.  Much appreciated.
Can I cancel the CC single-app membership I already paid for and move to the full CC subscription?
Also will this allow me to review my app on my iPad?
