What happens when 2 phones have the same icloud account?

Can this effect wipe out or over write a backup? I backed up my phone before downloading os6.1.2.
When I tried restoring I got my sons contacts and I don't see my backup. I can't believe it's total gone.
Thanks

If 2 (or more) devices share the same iCloud account then they will have the same iCloud content. That's the whole purpose of iCloud - to keep multiple devices in sync with the same contacts, calendars, bookmarks, notes etc.
If you want to maintain separate data, then you need to maintain separate iCloud accounts.
Do you not backup your phone and data to your computer?

  • What happens when multiple users access the same servlet?

Do the users share all the same resources? Or is a new process generated for each user? I have a servlet that builds a string to return to the user and I only have myself to test, so I can't really see what happens when many users access the servlet. Is there a possibility that the string will get screwed up, like when dealing with multiple threads, or do all the users get their own resources and I don't have to worry about that?

huh? if you can point a test servlet at it, you can point a browser at it (even if the servlet does not serve html it will run)
try pasting the servlet URL into a web browser
refreshing multiple browsers repeatedly could provide a manual test

  • How do I set up the app FindMyiPhone on more than one phone when all phones have the same Apple ID?

I have two iPhones and I want to set up FindMyiPhone on both phones but we both have the same apple acct.  I want to be able to track my teenage son's whereabouts and this would be a good way.  When I log into iCloud, only my iPhone shows up.  His used to but after I did a weekly restart on my iPhone I lost his.  Before, mine wasn't showing up, only his.  Now mine show's up but his doesn't.

You could look at using a template.  Create your master template, create editable and non-editable regions, then use this template create all the child pages.  When you need to make a change to the menu, make it in the template and the changes will flow down to all the pages created from the template.
    Using DW Templates:

The other option would be to create the Navigation item as a server side include...

When you make a change to a template, you need to re-upload all the pages created from the template.
Using a SSI, you make the change in the ssi file,  upload it and all pages are automatically updated.

  • How do I set up two phones with the same Icloud account

I have 2 Iphones for my daughters and want to use the same Itunes account and Icloud account but when I set it up on the 2nd phone it uploaded the other phones contacts and the new phone is receiving the 1st phones text message.  do you have to set up a separate Icloud account to prevent this from happening?

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
    Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

  • Can we have the same iCloud account for 2 Macs, 2 iPhones and an iPad?

My partner and I each have an iMac and an iPhone, and we have an iPad which we both use. It suits us to have a single iCloud account because we share all calendars and contacts.
However, we're about to upgrade our iPhones and I've read that if both the old and the new device has iOS 5 or later, the data transfer should be done via iCloud. Please can anyone tell me if 2 iPhones can be backed up to iCloud (currently they're backed up to the iMacs) without causing difficulty? Each phone has a different name attached to it, so I guess it may be OK if they're done one at a time. Or maybe it's OK to do the data transfer via iTunes, even though the iOS is 6.1.6...?
    With thanks.

    Hello Gillylal Fordham-Lear,
This can be done via iTunes or iCloud, as detailed in the article linked below.

  • What happens when two computers call the same code stored in network storage?

We have our code on network storage and have only been running code on one computer.  We have now duplicated our setup and would like to use the same code to run the new setup from a different computer.  We would like to run both setups simultaneously (both using same code from network storage).  Will there be conflicts here or do both computers load their own copy of the vi to run from?  I should say that we have no global variables.
I'm interested in the answer to this question anyway but I would also be happy to hear any suggestions (or even criticisms) on how to do what we are doing.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You should seriously consider a source control system, which is the best solution here. That gives you one master copy of the code on the network. Each computer retrieves the latest revision from source control, making a copy on the local disk. Source control helps maintain a known good backup, and allows you to track changes and compare versions or revert to older code when something breaks.
I'm fairly certain you can open the same VIs stored on a network drive on multiple computers concurrently. Global variables are irrelevant here. Each computer will independently load the VIs into memory. The problem is if you edit and save the VI on one computer while it's open on another, and if you make edits on both simultaneously, you'll definitely lose some of the edits and could possibly corrupt your VI and lose all of them, which is why you should be using a source control system instead.
If you have the application builder, I recommend building your code into an application. You can store the application the network if you want, and run it on multiple computers.

  • Family Sharing: Can it be used to back up multiple phones to the same iCloud account?

With the Family Sharing feature of iOS8 & Yosemite, is it possible to back up multiple iPhones automatically to one iCloud account?
My family needs a way to automatically back up their iPhones. It would get really costly and otherwise problematic to equip each of us with iCloud accounts just so we could back up our phones automatically. If Family Sharing enables us to do these automated backups to one iCloud account, then I'd go ahead and upgrade my iCloud account to the 200 GB iCloud storage allotment.
However, if I do this, does this give my 11-year-old access to my iCloud email account, contacts and other personal information? I imagine that the Family Sharing tool should be able to manage this, but I'd like to be sure.
    Thanks.

I do know that if you have separate iCloud accounts you can share with your children what you need to. I encouraged my daughter to do that for her 2 kids she bought iPads for Xmas. Instead of using her account like she had been doing with her old iPhones the kids used, she created new iCloud accounts to take advantage of the 5 gig for each account, otherwise just 2-3 devices ***** up that 5 gigs immediately.  She then set up what she wanted them to have access to, and it worked out perfectly!
I myself was thinking of doing the opposite of what you inquired about and doing what she did with her kids, but for myself. I am thinking about created a separate iCloud account then share with myself what I need to so I can gain 5 gig storage by using separate account on a couple devices.

  • On iOS 7, my wife receives alerts from my calendar even though she chose not to see my calendars on her iPhone (We have the same iCloud account). How can I turn off my alerts on her iPhone 5 but nor her alerts ?

My wife decided to use her calendar on her iPhone 5 via our iCloud account so that it will be synchronized with her iPad 3.
I have been using it for many years for leisure activities and for my work.
Althought she chose, in her calendar settings, to only see her calendar and not my calendars (I have many for leisure activities, for one of my job, for my other job etc...), she still gets alerts from my calendar events even thought she do not see the events on her iPhone nor on her iPad.
Has anyone a solution for this ?
I read many things on internet about this but found no solutions yet.

Well, let take the personal service point of view : let say, I had two calendars on my iCloud account : one for work, one for my leisure activities.
On my MacBook Pro that I use at home as well as at my office, I would want the two calendars to show and since I am alone in my office, I would want the alerts for both my work and my leisure activities to show (and make a sound at the same time).
But on my iPad that I only use at home, I would only want my leisure activities alerts to show (and make a sound) and on my iPhone that I only use for work, I would only want my work alerts to show (and make a sound).
That is a personal service that simply does not work.
Why would Apple give us the opportunity to hide some calendars on certain devices but not allow us, on these same devices, to switch off the alerts linked to these calendars that we have chosen to hide ? Why having alerts of calendars that do not even show on these devices ?
And I am an Apple fan since 1984, since the very first Mac. I still do believe Macs and Apple devices and/or software (iOS, OS X and others...) are much better and much more efficient than " Microsoft, Windows, Google and other Android devices and software.
But that does not mean everything's perfect (and I find that quite normal).
Nevertheless, in this case, letting alerts make a sound on a device where a specific calendar is not shown, that does not make any sense : when uncheking those calendars, the alerts linked to those calendars should be automatically switch off (but alerts should be able to work on the calendars that are shown.)

  • How can i get a list with all devices that have the same icloud account for iMessage, FaceTime, Reminders, etc...

Hi, I want to know which devices (iMac, MacBook, iPod, iPhone, iPad & PC) are using my iCloud account, specifically because of iMessage going to devices that im not aware of.
A list of those devices would be great.
I do have a list of the ones with find my i activated, but i want the full list. Or at least the ones being used by FaceTime or iMessage!
    Thank you in advance!

I don't think there's a single place that will give you a list but you can check your devices to create one.  On your iOS devices go to Settings>Messages>Receive At and check the Apple ID at the top.  You can check FaceTime at Settings>FaceTime.  You can check iCloud at Settings>iCloud>Account.  On your Mac go to System Preferences>iCloud> click on Account Details.  On your PC go to Start>Control Panel>Network and Internet>iCloud (you Apple ID is listed on the left).

  • Can I use the same iCloud account on more than one PC?

I'm new to iCloud. I use Apple devices but a PC both at home and work. I'd like to have the same iCloud account on both PCs, but not sure if I can do this. Can anybody clarify please?
    Thank you.

Yes, you can use the same iCloud account on more than one device. Thats actually the basic idea of iCloud, syncing and exchanging data of different devices without a cable. E.g. your address book on the iPhone is modified and you computer gets the changes via iCloud…
    enjoy

  • My dad and i have the same icloud id,when i updated the software (to ios 8.1.3) i have my dad´s photos on my iphone. And want my photos back (i tried restoring my phone from the last backup) but still have my dad´s photos on my device.

My dad and i,have the same icloud id,when i updated the software (to ios 8.1.3) i have my dad´s photos on my iphone. And want my photos back (i tried by restoring my phone from my last backup)but still have my dad´s photos in my device

And that's exactly the problem, because everyone should have their own account for iCloud. You can share an Apple ID for iTunes & App Store purchases, but you shouldn't do that for iCloud (Mail, Calendar, Contacts etc. ... ...and Photos). The problem of using the same account together could mean that only your dad's photos were stored.

  • HT201493 How can I add my daughter to Find my friends when we have the same itunes account and that's how they make us log in?

How can I add my daughter to Find my friends when we have the same itunes account and that's how they make us log in?

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • HT4865 So who believes Apple should be a bit more cautionary about the sharing of iMessages and other content when several members of a family share the same iCloud account and unknowing can audit each other's iMessages, Contacts, and god only knows what

I think Apple should be a bit more cautionary about iCloud and privacy.  My family shares the same iCloud account as we all enjoy the music we collectively purchase on iTunes; we paid Apple for this feature with some kind of grouped account.  We didn't know, however that this joins our devices so that iMessages, contacts, pictures and just about everything else is shared too.  The unprivate default seems to be to share everything between all devices vs. to allow access by exception or by choice (or by password?).  Sure, when my kids get all my texts I can go figure out why and fix it but that is in my mind the antithesis of privacy and could be quite embarrassing for any family.  I guess it is good for stalking the kids or parents though if they don't know about the partyline approach to privacy.  Maybe a tech solution would be to have the iPhone show somehow the extent of its audience to its user.

No argument from me about the vagaries of using and sharing Apple IDs.  This can lead to unintended consequences, especially in a family situation.
If you're sharing the same ID for FaceTime, you might want to go to Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign in with separate IDs there too.  Otherwise, you'll end up getting each other's FaceTime calls.
Also, if you need to migrate everyone's devices to separate iCloud accounts to keep your synced data separated, you can do this by saving any photo stream photos you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone.  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.  Once everyone's devices are on separate accounts, you can go to icloud.com and delete each other's data from your accounts.
