What has happened to the Rotating Cube when switching accounts in Leopard?

Has the rotating cube been abandoned in Leopard? If not how do I turn it back on? Thanks in advance.

Fast user switching is on... I use the Name reference but I've tried switching to icon with the same result. If the a account I'm switching to is not logged in I get a blank Blue screen for about 2 seconds then the desktop of the account. If the account is already logged in then from the login window (all accounts have passwords) it just switches directly to the desktop.
I have spaces turned on on my main account however none of the other accounts do, the same thing happens regardless of which account you are switching from or to.
If you hadn't said it was working for you I would have believe they just pulled it from Leopard.

What has happened to the wonderful, independent, DTP section of Pages?

What has happened to the wonderful, separate, Desk Top Publishing section of Pages?
Since upgrading, I am no longer able to:
See my column markers when layout view is enabled
I cannot identify the colours I regularly use in my magazine layouts as those colours are no longer shown on the palette
I cannot find the flow buttons that used to exist in the bottom right hand corner of the text boxes and can no longer get text flowing from one page to another.
I work in collaboration with someone else in magazine production and we need to be able to liaise with regard to the formatting. this is now very difficult. I need this sorted ASAP as we are working to a deadline.

What has happened to the 'little lock icon' that tells me site safe?

There used to be a 'little yellow lock' icon at the bottom of the browser page when I did my banking or when I logged in on ebay etc.. This icon let me know it was safe to use the page/site. When I updated to Firefox 6.0.2. for Windows English the yellow lock icon no longer appears. What has happened to it? Is it there and I need to retrieve some how or have you done away with it...and why?

In Firefox 4 and later you no longer have the Status bar that showed the padlock in previous Firefox versions. 
The padlock only shows that there is a secure connection and doesn't guarantee that you are connected to the right server. 
So you might still be connected to the wrong server if you make a typo in the URL and someone has claimed that mistyped URL. 
The functionality of the padlock has been replaced by the [[Site Identity Button]] on the left end of the location bar.

Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

I have just tried to "save as" one of my documents and the option in the file menu bar has disapeared. i use the save as option often. Please help

I recommend sending feedback to Apple. I have sent feedback for Pages, Numbers & OS X.The more people who send feedback, the more likely changes will be made. Feedback works. When iWork '09 first came out there was a lot of ranting about the move of Export to the Share menu. With the first update Export was added back to the File menu & was also left in the Share menu.
Here's what I sent to the OS X feedback.
The loss of Save As… in Numbers 2.1, Pages 4.1 & Preview in Lion is extremely frustrating, particularly since there is no keyboard command for File > Duplicate. Trying to assign ⌘ ⇧ S in System Preferences doesn't work because OS X "decides" to then assign that to Edit > Duplicate which, by default is ⌘ D.
I have to take my hands off the keyboard, go to the File menu & then select Duplicate in order to create a new document with the same basic content. Having a keyboard command for File > Duplicate would go a long way in solving this problem for me & many others who complain in Apple Support Communities.

My monitor profile has nothing to do with having LightRoom messages delivered to my computer as per the past. However, my monitor is profiled once a month and is just fine. I cannot imagine the monitor profile having anything to do with the forum messages not being delivered to my 27 inch iMac, as per the past. For the record;, I have received two replies to my question as forum mail but have not viewed or received any other discussions that are taking place in the LightRoom forum. Is there a reason why??
All LightRoom forum mail would be delivered to my iMac, but for some reason, they are no longer being sent to me. I really thought there was something wrong with the forum itself.

Seems an update has happened - why? Any how the bookmark orange box in the top lh corner of the toolbar has gone missing.

Firefox 29 and later versions have the Australis interface that looks different than the user interface in Firefox 28 and older versions.
*With the Australis interface the orange Firefox menu button has been replaced by the three bar Firefox Menu button at the far right end of the Navigation Toolbar A consequence of this new menu button is that you no longer can hide the Navigation Toolbar
*There is a star like button to the right end of the search bar on the Navigation Toolbar to bookmark the current web page and a "Show your bookmarks" button next to it to open the Bookmarks in a drop down menu. You can find "Show All Bookmarks" to open the Bookmarks Manager (Library) at the bottom of this drop-down list
*It is still possible to have the menu bar visible via the right-click context menu on the toolbars to have menus like the Bookmarks menu
* Click the bookmark star on the Navigation Toolbar once to bookmark the current site (this will highlight the star) to bookmark the current page in the Unsorted folder
* Click the blue highlighted star to open the "Edit This Bookmark" pop-up dialog and move the bookmark to another folder
In current Firefox releases the "Bookmark This Page" menu entry in the Bookmarks menu changes to "Edit This Bookmark" once you have bookmarked the page and the star on the Navigation Toolbar is highlighted blue. 
So do not get confused by the missing "Bookmark This Page" in the Bookmarks menu and seeing "Edit This Bookmark" instead if you try to bookmarks a page that is already bookmarked. 
You can make a extra copy of a bookmark by dragging the link to a folder in the bookmarks sidebar or by doing a copy and paste in the Bookmarks Manager (Library).
You can look at the Classic Theme Restorer extension to restore some functionality that was lost with the arrival of the Australis style in Firefox 29.

If you do not see any menus or toolbars, Firefox might be in full screen mode. The F11 function key switches between regular and full screen modes.
Make sure your Navigation Toolbar (main bar with URL area and back button) is turned on using either of these:
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Navigation Toolbar
* tap the Alt key > View menu > Toolbars > Navigation Toolbar
If the Navigation Toolbar is visible but some controls are missing, try resetting your toolbars as follows:
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar > Customize
* tap the Alt key > View menu > Toolbars > Customize
In the Customize dialog, click the Restore Default Set button.

I have been meaning to discuss this for monthsand have never got around to it. The normal land line phone work 100 percent of the time you pick it up and it works you make calls from it and you put it down when your finished.
The mobile phone has lost what it was created for because there is to many things being added to it. I am a heavy business user. I make lots and lots of call all day long be it in my van on the hands free kit or just the handset. I have been using nokia phones for 6 years and they are starting to let the business user down greatly.
My last phone worked fairly well the 6310i it sat in a cradle in the car kit was charged by the car kit and used the external aerial with the car kit. Besides that the battery lasted with low usage up to 10 days and also i could slip a spare battery onto the back very easily and quickly that i had sitting by my pc on charge in a cradle, the was some problems with the car kit from time to time and the pc software didn't work half the time but as a phone it was very good i made lots of calls with good reception.But the new phones have got worse i was replacing 5 business phones snd needed car kits with them and also i wanted to be able to charge the units in the vehicle while in the car kit as well as use the external aerial on the vehicle when working in remote areas of bad reception. Well do you think anyone in nokia could provide any of this, no not after hours of searching on there website and talking to idiots on customers services who refused to put me threw to someone who technically knew what i wanted. Well i could go on for hours but the best i came up with for a new business phone was the 6230i. its a nice phone but its draw backs are the battery is not easily changed, the battery does not last anything as long, the new car kits do not have an external aerial, and it crashes about once a month even though i have the latest software on it. why cant they stop messing about and design a phone for the business user that uses an external aerial, but most of all has a battery that last all the other toys have nothing to do with making phone calls there nice i do use my pc and link it with outlook and the rest but most of all i make phone calls. Come on Nokia get back the essence of what a phone is for and take control of this issue. i would gladly talk to someone in nokia's developement team if they wish to give me a call but an email might be better as the battery wont run out during the conversation.

this is ridiculous. if you read the manual for the installation of any car kit it states what you need to do in order to have it switched on when the ignition is off. its just the same as wiring a car stereo to a switch for leaving it on all the time. if yours does not do this you can ask the installer to do it for you.
i fail to see how nokia are complicating the issue with the 616. i agree that it does lack a charger and is the most expensive. have you ever seen a car charger? its a very discreet device, i have one myself. i plug in my phone and leave it out of sight in the car(i also have a bluetooth car kit. i put the phone in the space next to my ashtray), you could try the same thing(depending on your car) as you dont actually need the phone anywhere near you when you use the 616, as previously mentioned the screen and remote take care of all the functions you need.
if you really need a cradle you can buy one, they are less than twenty quid . as i use more than one phone its not a good idea for me. i have one for personal and one for business, but as you have mentioned, you are a heavy business user, you may wish to invest in one. probably you could pick one up at www.nokia-accessories.co.uk.
and on your odd comment on the desk stand, well nokia does one for the 6230i also, its called the dcv-14. not only does it charge it also provide a connection to your pc via a dku-2. you can find that on the same site i mentioned above. even though it does not charge an extra battery it does give you extra functionality, so i think the designers have done well there.

What has happened to the "show search" function in Pages 5.5.2?

In older versions, this function displayed all instances of the search string with links to the page number of each instance. This is different from Find and Replace, which hops from one instance at a time. Critical for revising my books. I could use it to jump only to the beginnings of chapters or to notice that I'd overused a particular word or to observe that I had used the same words in close proximity to one another.
Does anyone know if this function was removed from the update?

The Search feature as you describe from Pages '09 was not implemented in Pages v5 (any release) along with the other 100+ features in Pages '09 that were omitted. It has been almost 17 months since Pages v5 was released, and there is no sign that Apple has conscience pangs about what they have not done with Pages v5.
If Pages '08, or '09 was on your machine when you installed Pages v5, these will be in the /Applications/iWork '08, or /Applications/iWork '09 folders respectively. Recommend you use them if you still have them.
