I set up an iTunes account to redeem a gift from a friend in the US and could not due to some restriction. I didn't buy anything from the store but my bank tells me that iTunes charged me £1.58. What is the charge for and how do I get my money back?

If you put in credit card information while setting up the account, a hold will be placed on that card for a small amount of money, usually, I think, the price of one song. This is to validate the card. The charge will be reversed in a day or so.

You, and nobody else who has access to your account or devices, haven't made multiple in-app purchases in the app ?

TS4268 Why have I been charged for iMessage activation now, when I have been using iMessage for more than one year?

I received a message on my iPhone saying that some charges could be applied due to activiation of iMessage. My question is: why have I been charged now, if I had already activated iMessage and I have been using it for more than a year.

We are basically users and can't really help with activation. So unless a staff member can check in, you need to speak to Customer Service.

After much back and forth drama, and the assistance of one awesome person at Apple, and also a great iTunes representitive, they have agreed to refund me.
I have not yet recieved the refund but will post here when I do.
This has been a long and drawn out headache, but I am glad that finally things seem to be set straight.

hello, last friday I noticed there was a sale on bejewled blitz coins so i tried to buy some on my iphone. It took about 5 minutes of a spinning wheel and finally said "oops there was a problem you have NOT been charged" so I noticed two itunes store reciepts and a dip in my credit balance of over $50. Trying to report a problem doesnt seem to work for me, the button isnt available for some reason and i cant submit a help ticket. If anyone has had experience in this matter please help me!

I'm just guessing since you provide so little information about your situation, but look under the Store menu in iTunes for the "Check for available downloads" command and run that. You may find the tracks there to be downloaded.
If not, and/or if you are certain you've been double-charged (and one charge wasn't the normal hold placed when you first enter a credit card), contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department from their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form, or an "Email Us" button) and explain the problem to them.
