What HTTP status code will client receive if dopost throws an exception?

If my servlet code is written this way:
public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
                            throws ServletException {
           throw new Exception("Test dopost exception");
}What HTTP status code will client receive?
Then what about this code?
public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res)
                            throws ServletException {
           throw new ServletException("Test dopost exception");
        }Thanks!

The application is running on localhost in a local network, so for accesing internet we're using a proxy. For this we tried to set up the proxy configuration and still the same error. We've also unplugged the network cable but it didn't help.
We've done all the neccesary settings and we're using "org.bouncycastle.jce.provider.BouncyCastleProvider " as a JCE provider.
    Thank you!

Just a guess, but if this is a secure web service shouldn't you be trying to connect to it using SSL? e.g.
    https://localhost:443/securesimple/Ping
Have you tried hitting the web service via your browser and appending the ?WSDL to the URL
    http://localhost:8080/securesimple/Ping?WSDL
    https://localhost:443/securesimple/Ping?WSDL
    Can you telnet to http://localhost:8080

  • [Exchange-Online][EWS-XML][JAVA][OAUTH2] Getting HTTP status code 500 when using OAUTH2 client credential grant flow as authorization method

    Hi,
i'm working on enhancing a service to be able to use OAUTH2 as authentication protocol with client credential grant flow when talking to exchange online ( like described here:

If i use BASIC authentication and impersonation the request is successfully.
Has anyone an idea why i might get the error 500 in that scenario?

For EWS to work with App Token, you need to do two more things. One you already did: Set the impersonation header. Two is to set the X-AnchorMailbox http request header to the smtp address of the mailbox you want to access. This routes the request instantly
    to the right backend.
    Hope this helps.
    Thank you! Matthias

the problem was due to high volume message (247 MB ) ...Java stack was not able to process this huge message ,that is the reason ,it started automatically  and as a result  , "HTTP Status Code 200 Received But Error During Response Parsing" due to unavailability of AFW during Call adapter step in the pipeline processing...
We have done the following activities in order to solve this problem....
increase the value of  icm/HTTP/max_request_size_KB to 512MB
                                        icm/wp_roll_timeout   to maximum
                                        HTTP TIMEOUT to 1800 sec
                                       icm/wp_roll_timeout   to maximum
                                         mpi/total_size_MB  to maximum
                                       mpi/buffer_size  to maximum
and then increased the maxthreadcount ,maxcontentlength using config tool...
and also increased the java heap size to maximum....
After doing everything ,the file has been successfully processed....
    the problem has been resolved...

  • Lync 2013 Clients in Child Domain Log "The server returned HTTP status code '403 (0x193)' with text 'Forbidden'."

Hey All, I am really stumped on this one.
Environment - Is using split DNS
Forest Root Domain - Contains new Lync 2013 Server Standard, ADDS, DNS, Enterprise CA, Workstations
Clients in this domain connect and work beautifully. No errors.
Child Domain - ADDS, DNS, Workstation, Lync 2013 client
Client autodiscovers, and then asks for a password. Enter the password and this comes up...
Can't sign in to Lync, You didnt get signed in, It might be your sign-in address or logon credentials..  blah blah blah"
    Client log shows
    Error:
There was an error communicating with the endpoint at 'https://domainlync13srv.Domain.net/WebTicket/WebTicketService.svc'.
The server returned HTTP status code '403 (0x193)' with text 'Forbidden'.
The server understood the request, but cannot fulfill it.
As far as i can tell certificates are correctly configured with all the SAN's possible in my forest. The user is correctly set up in Lync control panel. Autodiscovery seems to be working as it should. EWS is working correctly.
Repaired client, removed cached creds, has all lync 2013 updates no dice
    Thank you all!

    I am an IDIOT.
I did not prepare the child domain with the LYNC setup tool. Logged on to a file server in the child domain with domain admin rights and sure enough the setup said the domain was "partial". Ran the setup and bam it all started working.

  • WLS 8.1 Apache Plug-in is changing HTTP status code 999 to 500

I'm seeing the weblogic server 8.1 sp4 apache plug-in change the HTTP status code of 999 (set by the application) to 500 Internal Server Error. I'm seeing this with Apache 2.0.48 on aix and with Apache 2.0.58 on windows. I've tried the plug-in from 8.1 SP2, SP4 and SP6 with all yielding the same result. I've tried the SSL plug-in too - same result. I'm told by the maker of this application that they are not seeing this issue with the plug-in for SunOne/NES. What does BEA say about the Apache plug-in changing the http status code? Why is it doing this? Why doesn't the SunOne/NES plug-in do it? Can you provide a plug-in that does not do this?

    Try setting
    Debug ALL
inside your IfModule. All proxy activity will be written to /tmp/wlproxy.log (on
unixes). If no info appears in the log, Apache is not invoking the plug-in properly.

  • ADF Mobile: HTTP Status Code 500 Internal Server Error

    Hi,
I wrote a SOAP web service and deployed it to my standalone ADF Server. I tested it with the HTTP Analyzer, works great. I used it in a Web Service Data Control in normal ADF Web - works perfect. It returns a table of data as programmed. However, ADF Mobile gives me errors: "Http Status Code 500 Internal Server Error: The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request".
I developed an ADF Mobile interface with an amx page. I created the same Web Service Data Control and created a List View based on the data control. The error pops up every single time, both on iOS simulator and Android Simulator.
I know the simulators have network access to the web services - because i can open the web service test page and WSDL from both simulator's internet browsers.
I know the web services are running - because my ADF Web application can access it.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!
    -Gavin

Thanks for the reply. There were no errors in my WLS server. However, I will add some statements to my web service to write to the log file. That way i can see if or at what point is the web service is being accessed by the mobile app.
    Thanks,
    Gavin

The TREX is installed on the a separate server.
When we try to Index production repository the documents are failing in
the Preparation failed status with return code 6401 and error message
    HTTP Status Code 401: Unauthorized.
I also applied SAP-Note 650521 and checked id index_service user and
found that its active and not locked but still issue didnu2019t get
resolved. Moreover i have gone thru most of the previous post regarding this topic but didt help.
I even checked the URL Generator service too which is fine.
On one test system also where SPNego is configured we are getting same
401 error. On this system we disabled SPnego and Indexing started working
fine. When we reverted back the SPNego configuration for confirmation of
our observation we found that it again started to give 401 error.
Any help in this regard will be appreciated.

    Dear
Open System Administration--> System Configuration> Knowledge Management--> Content Management> Global Services (Mode : Advanced)> Index Management Service--> Check for Crawling Service User  it has to be index_service
If still you have problem than do let me know where is your Repository located are the documents are stored on Portal Server itself or it is stored on some external server...
What kind of repository you use CM Repository(Mode:DB,DBFS,FSDB) , File System Repository....e.t.c....

  • OTA Download and HTTP Status Codes

    Hi there,
i am planning to check the http status code of an OTA download. Even if I interupt the download process, the server still responds with status 200.
Does anbody have an idea, how to implement this process?
    Thanx,
    Simone

i have relatively a same question. I am developing an OTA Provisioning platform for Java Games . Herez the flow:
-> End User (Client) requests a content by entering his mobile no. via website
-> Server sends a WAP PUSH (Binary SMS) to his mobile.
-> When User opens the WAP PUSH (SMS), it will connect via GPRS to the server and start retrieving the game ( I am using Servlet to stream the JAD File)
-> Then it will retrieve JAR file (path defined in JAD file)
    -> I have defined:
    MIDlet-Install-Notify: http://myserver.com/content?323
in JAD File. So after Installation the Mobile handset connects the URL specified. I am then grabbing the status code i.e 900 or 901 ....
    Problem:
<b> User Tracking: </b> I am not able to track the user e.g there are number of register users each having unique Id. When they download the content the Midlet-Install-Notify connects to servlet, but i am not able to distinguish among users as i am not able to dynamically assign User ID to MIDlet-Install-Notify URL in JAD File.
I am in now in real trouble. If any one knows the solution how to maintain session or URL rewriting i.e dyanmically assign Parameters to MIDlet-Install-Notify plz share it.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Hamid

Management point and Application Catalog Website Point are installed on the same Server where I am seeing the error for Application Catalog Web Service Point role. Management Point and Application Catalog Website Point are functioning properly. Application
    Catalog Website is working.

    Hi Jason,
Application Catalog Web Service Point and Application Catalog Website Point; both are installed as per below configuration on same Server:
    IIS Website: Default Web Site
    Port Number: 80
with default value for Web Application Name configured.
For SMS_AWEBSVC_CONTROL_MANAGER component, I am getting below error in Component Status:
Application Web Service Control Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests.  The http status code and text is 400, Bad Request.
Possible cause: Internet Information Services (IIS) isn't configured to listen on the ports over which AWEBSVC is configured to communicate.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is configured to use the same ports which AWEBSVC is configured to use.
Possible cause: The designated Web Site is disabled in IIS.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is enabled, and functioning properly.
For more information, refer to Microsoft Knowledge Base.
And awebsctl.log has the below error lines:
Call to HttpSendRequestSync failed for port 80 with status code 400, text: Bad Request

  • HTTP Status Code 500 Internal server error while passing complex object

    Hi
When I am passing values through complex input parameter, I am getting "*HTTP Status Code 500 Internal server error: The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request*". Why I am getting this error? Any idea
    Regards
    Raj

    Raj,
Can you elaborate on what exactly are you trying to do? Are you saying that same use case works when you pass simple parameters?

  • HTTP Status Code from NetConnection

    Hey flexers,
I have a flex app that requires a user to be logged in to make service calls.  If the user isn't logged in or the session times out and the app makes a call to a backend service via AMF, the server responds with an HTTP status code 401, as expected.  The response header looks like this:
    HTTP/1.1 401 Authorization Required
    Date: Wed, 18 Aug 2010 16:49:01 GMT
    Server: Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) PHP/5.2.4-2ubuntu5.6 with Suhosin-Patch mod_ssl/2.2.8 OpenSSL/0.9.8g
    X-Powered-By: PHP/5.2.4-2ubuntu5.6
    x-ec2-instance-id: i-e52e8b8f
    Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate
    Pragma: no-cache
P3P: CP="NOI ADM DEV PSAi COM NAV OUR OTRo STP IND DEM"
    Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0
    Content-Length: 185
    Content-Type: application/x-amf
    Expires: 0
The response content is AMF so it's binary but here's the hex as reported by the Charles Web Debugging Proxy:

I'm looking for the proper way, in the Flex app, to figure out it's a 401 status code.  Previously, we were watching for the NetStatusEvent coming from NetConnection. If there was a info.errorCode property, we'd use that as the status code.  Otherwise, if there was an info.description property, it would normally look like "HTTP: Status 401" in which case we'd pull it out of the string (which makes me cringe just thinking about it).  However, at the moment the NetStatusEvent looks like this:
    error flash.events.NetStatusEvent (@6a7eee1)
    [inherited]
    info Object (@7f3ea79)
    code "NetConnection.Call.Failed"
    description "HTTP: Failed"
    details "http://dev.studioj.com"
    level "error"
    m_info Object (@7f3ea79)
No status code exists in the event anywhere in the event.  After all kinds of debugging, rolling back code, etc., I can't figure out why the NetStatusEvent now has description "HTTP: Failed" instead of description "HTTP: Status 401".
Can anyone clarify what's going on?  Thanks.

After digging into it more, I've found that it's browser-specific behavior.  When simulating an HTTP status code of 401, in Chrome and IE I get a NetStatusEvent that looks like this:
    error flash.events.NetStatusEvent (@6c33791)
    [inherited]
    info Object (@6b14851)
    code "NetConnection.Call.Failed"
    description "HTTP: Status 401"
    details "http://aaronhardy.com/test.php"
    level "error"
    m_info Object (@6b14851)
Notice the "description" has the status code.  In Firefox I get an event that looks like this:
    error flash.events.NetStatusEvent (@6c33791)
    [inherited]
    info Object (@6b14851)
    code "NetConnection.Call.Failed"
    description "HTTP: Failed"
    details "http://aaronhardy.com/test.php"
    level "error"
    m_info Object (@6b14851)
Notice the status code isn't mentioned anywhere.  Is this a known issue in Firefox?  Are we really that close to being able to use real HTTP status codes yet so far away?
    Aaron
