What i have to do, my ipod is frozen.

My ipod is frozen, and just showing with the loading icon on. I can't do anything, i tryed to reinstal everthing, and restarting, but nothing works.

try a hard restart
press home and sleep/wake button for 10+ seconds

I have no idea what i have done to this ipod

i bought it off a friend who upgraded to a touch recently
firstly it came up with a sad ipod icon
after connecting it to the computer and various 'rubbing' techniques it came up with an exclamation point and and folder i turned it on again and it decided to work after 1 month of not working. Now when i connect it to the computer windows recognises it but it freezes itunes and is not picked up by itunes when i insert it into the computer it comes up with an autoplay window which leads me to beleive that it is in disk mode but any help with it would be great
ive installed the lastest software and it is still not working

If this did not work, your iPod may have corrupted or missing software. Restore your iPod. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983
If it's still not working, iTunes may need to be reinstalled or the iPod's software installed on your computer. Locate the iPod's software disc that came with it and install the software. If you don't have the disc, I will try to locate a software download from the internet.

Try resetting it. Toggle the hold switch off and on a few times then hold down the MENU and SELECT (centre) buttons for five or ten seconds until you see the Apple logo appear then the menu button to go to the normal display:

An Ipod can be synced with only one ITunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this IPod with the contents of this ITunes library.
Then it asks me if I want to delete and sync.
I am not sure what to do for fear of erasing everything I have put on my Ipod.

If I understand you correctly, you are trying to use iTunes to play the Music in your iPod but which is not in your itunes library. I don't think Apple design iTunes for use in your way. As to put and play music in iPod, the music has to be in iTunes first, so you play music in the iTunes music Library. the window with Ipod music is just to show you which music are already in the Ipod, in case you want to Manually Manage your huge music library.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files.
First try:
"First you go settings/general/usage/music/then left swipe over music and press delete and you would think it deletes your music but it doesn't instead it deletes your other but make sure your ipod is connected to a computer while doing this"

No matter what I do I cannot restore ipod classic. Ipod is corrupt with unknown error 1439.cannot restore the ipod Have tried all options but . can anyone help?

I recently bought a second-hand ipod classic. When connecting to itunes the message reads that the ipod is corrupt and needs to be restored to factory settings. However, this does not solve the issue and I get the message saying unable to restore, unknown error 1439. No matter what i have tried through apple support i get the same result. Normally unknown error is due to timeout, cause by
connected to slow USB port at the front of the PC, or using USB Hubs - Better connect to the USB HUb at the back of the PC. (Some Laptop, has only one High Power -USB2.0 port

Winsocks conflict with iTunes - Disconnect Internet and Stop firewall and Antivirus, emails apps.

Does it happen with the apps that came with the iPod?
Does it happen with all apps you have downloaded/installed?
Have you ried deleting the apps and redownload/install the apps? You will not be charged again if you are signed into the same iTunes account that originally purchased the apps.
Next would be to restore from backup
Last would be to restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

Apple removed the clickwheel games from the iTunes Store back in September.
Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod to see if that helps resolve the issue of not being able to play the games? To do this, first make sure the Hold Switch is in the OFF position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Not many. At this point, many applications focus on the current version of software, which is iOS 6.0.1. You might have to find out for yourself to see which ones are compatible, but you may be out of luck for many. Also, you have a first generation iPod touch. It's been 5 years since that was released, and many apps have updated at least hundreds of times. There is luck, however; larger games can possibly still support your version. Also, if you're in the App Store on the iPod touch, go to the bottom of the app page and see what version it supports. I hope this helped.

Basically you will have to transfer its contents to the new computer and then restore the iPod and then resync. An iPod can only sync to one iTunes library.
