What I would want to see in a new XFI driver relea

Well obviously fixes to all the issues everyone is having BUT....
I like the mode changer actually. I usually play games with headphones on but sometimes I dont. I have some nice Klipsh speakers and a 00 watt amp I can listen to my stuff through.
So what I wish each Mode had was a way you could save a setting for each mode. So say I change to game mode and I want to play WITHOUT headphones. Well I like a different level of EAX and Crystilizer when I do this. So I guess I would want selectable profiles in each Mode. That would be cool. Then I wouldnt have to make changes if Im using headphones or speakers.
I dont like listening to Music with EAX enabled for example. Probably someone has already mentioned this so if they have then I guess delete my post.

I like to hear radio show MP3's and it would be nice to get back to were I was last
If they are actually mp3 files (and not radio stations in iTunes), select them in iTunes, right click - Get info.
Click the Options tab and tick *Remember playback position*. Same for audio books.
Radio programs it won't and cannot work for because they are streamed (which mean it is constantly being sent over the internet).
Same as a station on regular radio. You can't turn it off then turn it on later and start up where you left off.

  • What I would like to see in a new version of iTunes

A saved point where it gets you to what you were listening to when you closed iTunes last. I like to hear radio show MP3's and it would be nice to get back to were I was last. It would be nice if they save the last five plays where you were. It's not useful if you only listen to music, but for audio books and radio programs it would be great. Kind of how the iTouch does it.

  • IDEA!!! Great to see Apple and the Drummer for Logic! What I would like to see???

Now what I would love to see and have talked to many that feel the same way, some  of my friends work with Aaron Carter, writers, to Kelly Clarkson, Foo Fighters to composers and many want a JOHN WILLIAMS ASSISTANT, maybe thats what it should be called? Assistant or Arranger? Basically, I have seen many take Band in A Box (NO LAUGHING YET), play a riff on the piano, then it puts together some great ok, fair arragements that you never would of thought to do. They then open Omnisphere, BFD (or some drum thing), Trilogy (for bass), and a SOFTWARE ORCHESTRA and they have insta song. Apple would do the best job and really wished they snagged giga studio? I have great ears, can tell CHINA vs AMERICAN 6L6 coke bottles apart, even easier vs EL34, or broken .10 cent capacitor. Which would cost you that glassy~shimmer sound, like fender has, so this should had been swooped up by Apple as it was the WARMEST SOUNDING SAMPLER EVER INVENTED - probably one of a few that have a working MAC copy - -but they were to slow  - by the time they had it, everyone ahd their own, OR they had (TASCAM) problems with security so when you get Kontakt, yeah, it might have great security but your paying for via the ROUND, WARM sound only possible by GIGA and Apple!
Now, I don't want someone with ZERO TALENT to come in, push a button and poof, a song, they tried with MAGIC GARAGE BAND but never really developed it so all they songs sound the same.
I would like to see a bass, orchestral, guitar, (although nothing beats playing) and especially an arranger where you lay down some notes and boom, a song is arranged for you.  Apple could do it.  Most that have Pro Tools also have LOGIC and most new hardware has THUNDERBOLT, so, if they put their minds to it, they would grab the pro's, prosumers in an instant and anyone on a PC would switch to mac just for the arranging as J. Wiiliams will play a few notes sometimes, and have an arranger write it out take off for a week or so and come back with a few versions.
Apple could do that, have a button to push, save but try again>Man, just having a program that throws maybe plugins and so on into the channel and change with the push of a button would be geniuos.  Not to mention, start researching John Lennon, 65, 70, 75, 80 vocal chain, press a button, you have his affects/doubling, et-cetera. Plus Paul, Kurt K., Kelly Clarkson, everything from ROCK to metal to country and teen pop would be dope.
Then have LOGIC self regulate via the spectrum analizer and change thinks around until it  was full as a great song with the guitar SOLO'd, should sound like poop, but when the rest of the mix is on, magic!
    PEACE.

    HI,
I'm not quite sure who you think you are addressing here with your idea but this is a user to user forum. Apple don't come here.
If you want to offer ideas or feedback to Apple, it would be best for you to do it here:

  • Tell us here what changes you want to see in the SpeedGrade forum.

Welcome to the new SpeedGrade user-to-user forum.
We're just getting started here, so there are very likely things that we'll need to add or change to make this forum as useful as it can be for you. Let us know what changes you'd like to see.
Content from the previous IRIDAS SpeedGrade forum has not been ported to this new forum.
If there is content from that forum that you would like to see made available, let us know, and we'll see what we can do.

I think we need subsections for the "old" legacy products, pretty much like the old forum was organized.
I understand that this forum is now the official end user forum, right?
We are also interested in seeing a beta forum as well (as we currently see it with other Adobe apps) so we can participate there as well. Please take notice
I am sure that is a LOT of useful information in the old forums. Maybe there is a way of having that old content get consolidated in terms of digest PDF for "new" users to use search within. I don't think it makes a lot of sense to let one dig through thousands of text entries manually to find the useful information, especially as much of this changed over time as "work in progress". Tipps from 2 years ago may be completely useless now with newer tools, and so on. So I vote for pumping out the old content into a PDF or something, so we have that all "at hand". Honestly, as we long term users didn't know of the deal before it happened, all that information was apparently gone before we could "safe it" for our own purposes. Thats what I am looking for right now.
That PDF could be linked in a sticky closed thread like "IRIDAS User Forum content until September 2011" or similar. Just an idea.
    Good luck with the forum!
    Cheers,
    Axel

  • What I would like to see in Iphoto

I am not sure if this has been brought up, but I have a simple thing I would love to see happen in Iphoto. When it comes Iphoto's automatic organization of photos into directories on the hard drive, I would love it if I could define when I start a day. for instance, I am at a party, and it goes to 3am, well the files are located under two different folders, 01/21 and 01/22. I would much rather have the "day" start at 6am, or 8am (rarely does a party last that long now that I am older), this way when I upload my pictures to a web server, or drag the folder onto a cd-rom for a friend and I do not have to merge folders (I struggle with this problem on a dialy basis). Is there a way I can adjust this currently?

This might work..if you know in advance you'll be going past midnight, you could change the setting the clock in your camera so that it is several hours earlier, just like you change your watch when you have go to a different time zone. Easy to test it in advance.
(Then you have to remember to reset to the correct time, for your next shoot. )

  • How do you browse the catalog by release date? I would like to see all the new releases in specific catagories but it seems that feature went away. Or can you browse the whole catalog by release date?

It appears that you can not browse the catalog by release date or see all the new additions to the catalog.

    Hi zrxix,
Happy New Year! In the iBooks application on your Mac, if you pick a category, like "Best of 2014" or "Best New Fiction" then click on the "See All" link on the right side of the page, you can choose to sort by name, release date, or featured.

  • I want to put in a new DVD drive

I just got this new DVD drive and i want to put it in my Power Mac G4 Quicksilver. Is that possible?

    Hi
It should be possible, although you'll have to replace the existing optical drive, as the second bay can only accomodate 3.5" drives such as a zip drive.
Installation instructions, including a QuickTime movie, can be found here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75314
Removing the old drive just involves unplugging the ribbon and power cable, undoing four screws to remove the drive and carrier from the computer and undoing a further four screws to remove the drive from the carrier. Installation of the new drive is basically the reverse process. You'll also just need to make sure the jumpers on the back of the new drive are set correctly to master.
You may want to make sure the drive is supported by the OS first though, with or without the help of PatchBurn:

  • What I would like to see to in the next firmware update

    1. Smooth transfer between hot spots.
    2. Option to choose which network interface to use, now it doesn't let you to choose between WiFi network and EDGE, its just switch to WiFi if it is available, so you have to turn off WiFi, not really convenient.
    3. Gmail works strange with mail client, he puts all messages in inbox that were send from computer. Really strange.
    4. iPhone without IM it is stupid idea, I can't imagine this to work out, of course I use 3rd party application Apollo that brings IM functionality to iPhone. Apple should do something about it in the near future or open OS X to 3rd party developers legally.
    5. Bring clipboard to iPhone, it is something that everyone need and will say thank you.
    6. SIP client would be good, but I guess I'm asking too much already.
    7. Forgot to say about 3rd party application Sketches, really cool application that everyone need, Apple really need to think about to bring this guys to Apple iPhone software developers group.

  • IWeb 1.1.1 works now.  SO... what do you want to see in future versions?

    My top wishes:
1.) Being able to modify templates and then duplicate the pages in iWeb 1.1 is great and all, but how about being able to CREATE original templates complete with making your own placeholder zones and then saving the template so a blank version of your template shows up in a Customize section in the template inspector?
2.) Also, how about the ability to place a sidebar on the blog page so you can always show your top 5 blog postings even if they were posted months ago???

    My top wishes:
    1) The ability to create a custom HTML box for third-party web gadgets,etc... like an custom Javascript (e.g. playtagger) or things like the Flickr badge. My point is that it's not just web geeks that would like custom HTML boxes... also neophytes that can copy/paste stuff from websites like Flickr etc.
    2) The ability to organize things in folders (you know, sub-directories) in your site, since that helps google and other search engines with your relevance (my understanding is that /~peter.hanley/about/peter_hanley.html is better than /~peter.hanley/about_me.html for page ranking)
    3) A template making app or feature. It seems like you could just have a "Save As Template..." menu item.
    4) The ability to publish to an s/ftp site directly.
    5) A Windows version for all the Windows-people I know that allready have a computer (so don't tell me to get them an intel iMac). =P

  • What I would like to see in the forum

Just a few simple things that just about any forum supports these days.
    1. Code text tags.
I hate to post PL/SQL code and have it html'ized removing spaces, etc. It really makes it hard to get points across when everything get mashed together.
    2. Image link tags.
I mostly post in the Oracle Spatial forum. Not being able to have in-line images links causes us to use 10,000 words instead of a picture! (Well not quite, but you get the idea). URL text just doesn't cut it.
    3. Change email.
As a developer, I can't for the life of me understand why this STILL has not been changed. There is no reason for that. And no, starting a new account is not the answer.
    Bryan

Well, you can post code using [code] or [pre] tags.
    <br><br>
You can also include HTML <img> tags:<br>

  • Old External Drive failing; want to clone it to new external drive

I have an iMac connected to an external hard drive that is showing signs of age, and I fear that it may be failing. I'm going to replace it today.
The external drive has 2 partitions: one for Time Machine, and another for what just refer to as "Extended Storage." I put my video files and the like there so as not to eat up space on my iMac's drive.
My new drive will be 750GB. Before I do anything else, I want to effectively clone everything on the current external drive to the new one. Having never done this before, I may be asking a dumb/easy question, but can someone guide me on how to go about doing this?
Also, if anyone has thoughts/suggestions on how I should go about partitioning the new drive, I would welcome them. For what it's worth, my iMac's internal drive is 160GB, and the current external drive is 400GB, which is split up 160 GB to Time Machine, and the rest to extended storage.
Thank you for any guidance you can provide.

  • What Features Would YOU Like To See Added To Encore?

I'm a relative newbie to DVD authoring, though I've completed hundreds of successful Projects. I also have used few other authoring programs, before Encore. I'd be interested in hearing what others would like to see added to Encore. This is kinda' like your "Feature Request," but it's really only for my interest and edification, as I cannot imagine Adobe reading the Lounge forum.
To date, every thing that I have wanted to do has been accomplished by either reading this forum, a couple of books or asking specific questions, and then using various workarounds. Maybe I have not set my DVD authoring sights high enough. That's why I'm posing my question to you. I also hope to get ideas for neat "things," that I never even have thought about.
    Thanks,
    Hunt

A real coaching app would be much appreciated.  All the one alread offered does the samething... designing drills.
We (the coaches) need more than that, we need something to allow us follow and take note, comment our teams/players/coach.

  • I am a Media Pastor at a church and am needing to find a Macbook that will fulfill the needs of running Final Cut Pro and Wirestream. What Macbook would be sufficient to do the job?

I am needing some guidance on the purchase of a Macbook Pro. I am wanting to have Wirestream Pro 4, a live streaming/recording software, and Final Cut Pro 7 and am needing to see what i would need to run them as far as drive capacity etc.

The top end MacBook Pro 15" (17" high res/anti-glare for full 1080 HD screen)  for mobile video needs with some restrictions and hinderances, you will need the Build to Order 7,200 RPM drive for sure as you need space and speed.
You can have 8GB of RAM from Apple or place 16GB in yourself for a lot less than Apple charges for 8GB. However you need to be handy with tiny screws, or have a local specialist do the 16GB for you.
Your probally better off with a MacPro than a MacBook Pro.
The MacPro is more powerful, and easier to get inside and do things, lasts longer, more ports, more drives, more storage for video, fast external RAID 5 setups etc.
So if you can get into a MacPro, that would be a better option for video.

  • Want to buy a new hard drive

Sorry if this is a repeat of a question I asked earlier but I can't find it in communities. I have late 2008 Mac Pro that I recently bought used and want to upgrade it. Thru other discussions I have figured out that my hard drive is dying. I have nothing to lose on this system and want to start fresh with new hard drive that might even be better than the original. My system info is:
    Mac Pro 3,1
    Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor speed: 2.8 ghz
    2 processors
    8 cores
L2 cache (per processor): 12 MB
    Memory: 4GB
    BUs Speed: 1.6 GHz
    Boot ROM version: MP31.006C.B05
I want to know what hard drive I can purchase to maximize this desk top. I want replace the graphics card so that I can use it as a desk top flight simulator. I know nothing about purchasing hard drives and would appreciate every bit of information anyone can give me. I have a blank canvas here and really want to make it as good as possible.
    Thank you in advance.
    Mike
