  • Certain songs won't import to iTunes

    Hi all,
I recently purchased the most recent 13" MacBook Pro which seems to be running fine, except I am having trouble with iTunes. When I download songs and drag them into iTunes, they either go in then I get a pop-up window saying "Attempting to copy to the disk "Macintosh HD" failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation" or they don't go in and I get this same pop-up window, and then another pop-up window saying "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (13001). These are all normal mp3 files so I have no clue why certain files won't save properly.
Help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

check if you have read & write permissions for your music folder. in finder, right-click on it and +get info+. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and +apply to enclosed items+ like so
you may also give everyone read & write access.
*the important part is to apply to enclosed items* !
These are all normal mp3 files
iTunes can be a bit picky which MP3s it accepts. run the problem files by _*MP3 Validator*_, then try again to add them to your library.

  • IPod touch won't update, certain songs won't sync...I'm even trying to restore my iPod and that won't even work. Help!

So I have an iPod 4th generation. I've been having problems downloading certain songs...I download my songs from youtube converter and all my other songs I have synced just fine. But there are about 10 songs that won't download, yes I have tried to convert them to AAC or whatever that is,and it seems like that won't work either. I thought maybe it isn't working because I haven't updated my iPod from 4.3.2 to 4.3.3,I try updating and it tells me Error, this ipod could not be updated error 3194...I ask around for questions as to why that isn't working and they tell me to restore. I try to restore on my computer and I get ANOTHER message saying This iPod cannot be restored error 3194.
Yes I've reinstalled iTunes and everything else.
Yes I've tried restoring and updating for a different computer but on the other computer it couldn't detect my iPod...
I'm having sooo many problems...help! I really do like my iPod touch but it seems to have a lot of problems

  • ITunes "canceling sync," certain songs won't sync to iPhone 4

Despite not making any hardware or software changes, I find myself not being able to sync certain songs to my iPhone 4. The sync process goes through all the steps as usual, and then on the last step, syncing music, after a few songs copy it says "Canceling sync." There is no pop-up error, so I just have to notice when "Canceling sync" shows up for a couple seconds to know that not everything copied that I wanted to.
My music library is on an external hard drive, as it has been for quite a while. The songs that don't sync to the iPhone are from a variety of sources: iTunes purchases, non-iTunes purchases, GarageBand tracks, CD rips. They all play on iTunes. They can be synced to and play on my iPods (a Shuffle and a Classic). I've tried closing and reopening iTunes, resetting the iPhone, ejecting and reconnecting the external hard drive, resetting the computer. Same problem every time.
The missing songs do show up on the iPhone, but they're in grey and can't be played. Most of them used to be on the iPhone and played with no problem. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi,
I had one music that was not syncing to my iPad. The artwork was a picture of me and my daugther (we recorded the music together on a studio).
I can only sync this music after deleting the artwork!
Maybe the artwork file you used for these songs could be the problem. Try change or deleting the artwork of these songs.
    Hope it helps!
    Regards.

  • Certain songs won't sync

Iphone 5s. Just changed to a new computer. All of the songs are in the Library and in the correct play list. They are also recognized and playing via Apple TV.  However, around 60 songs, most of which are recent purchses, will not sync to the Iphone. They appear in the playlist with the "cloud" symbol next to them but will not download when I attempt to do that even one song at a time. When I turn Wifi off, they disappear from the palylist entirely. I have tried many of the suggestions in other strings with no success.  Appears to be some kind of Apple glitch that others are experiencing as well?
I have deleted all music, changed manual settings on Summary page, etc.  During the sync process, Itunes recognizes the correct number of songs but they dont function from the Iphone. Out of ideas.........

  • Song statistics not syncing into itunes.

    Good day all.
it has been a while since i had this problem and it's really annoying the **** out of me.. something that i never noticed with ipod nano.
the problem is the usage statistics in my itouch doesn't sync into my laptop's itunes. for example, i rate a song 1 star, it doesn't show up in itunes. only 4 songs have frozen ratings into them. this makes them useless for smart playlists.
also the plays/skips don't seem to get saved to each song. my smart playlists display a different list in itouch compared to itunes(which usually don't have any contents inside).
i have smart playlists for "songs with X stars", "songs played at least once" etc. they're all useless when viewed in itunes.

btw, here are the details of my stuff:
    itouch 4th (ios 6.1)
    itunes 11
    windows xp and windows 7.
ipod nano 5th(doesn't seem to have this problem.)

  • Some songs won't sync from iTunes to iPhone

Ok, so I have had the 4S for some time now, and I am really beginning to be frustrated with the fact I can't sync all of my music. It's almost as if anything I purchased prior to getting the 4s (had 3GS prior) will not transfer over. I have tried syncing all music, removing everything, restoring, and nothing works. iTunes allows me to play the music, and it syncs fine with my iPod with no issues. No matter what I try about 200 of the 500 songs I am trying to sync are actually on my iPohone, yet all of them are on the iPod just fine. I have plenty of room on the iPhone, and I receive no errors (even reset warnings just in case it was something I previously shut off) when trying to sync to indicate they won't be there. In fact the "Capacity" bar shows the space it should take up, then after I sync and go back the space is cut in half.
No one has been able to help, can anyone please help! The songs its deciding not to include are some of my favorite...to the point I bought two of them a second time

If these earlier songs were purchased with a different Apple ID, you might try on your phone going to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, then sign back in using this earlier ID.  Do the same with iTunes on your computer (signing into the iTunes store with this earlier ID). For good measure, restart your computer and your phone, then try syncing the music to see if it will transfer now.  If it does, you can to back and reset your Apple IDs the way they were before.

  • 1 song won't sync from itunes to my iphone

Ok, long story short.  Today in the car I went to play a song and it started half way thru the song, then when I started the song from the beginning, it skipped to the next song half way thru.  So I came home and deleted the song, and imported it again. It it in my itunes library, along with my music folder on my macbook, but when I try to sync it to my iphone.....nothing!!  It doesnt sync or anything.  Any suggestions??  I tried to change the format, and import it again, now I'm lost.....

go to the app store on your phone and purchase the app again on your phone... a box will come up saying that you have already purchased the app and if you would like to download it click ok
then it will download and install on your phone

  • New purchased song won't sync to itunes.

i just purchased six songs from the itunes store.
i synced my ipod and five out of the six songs synced to the ipod.
how can i get the sixth song to sync to my ipod?
    its being very stubborn.
    thank you.

I have noticed that it seems to be a bit rate size problem. My iPhone only adds songs or vids less than 127bps. Now, it's possible that it could be slightly higher, but that seems to be the limit of the stuff I have. Nothing 158bps or 160bps or 192bps or 256bps syncs over, though it did last week! Is it possible this limit was inadvertently imposed in the last update? Problem only appeared after last iTunes update. Could have been with 3.0 update but I don't think so. However I have noticed when they do sync, after I play them or partially play them they disappear from the playlist on the iPhone, should I go to another app and them come back to it.
I don't want to reduce the bit rate, I want iTunes to fix itself, gol-darnit!
Anyone know of a solution or heard of this?

  • Songs won't sync into my iPod, this is a weird one!

So. I try to sync my 30G video to with my iTunes. (yes, it's the newest update of itunes)
Everything looks right, iTunes shows the status bar on the top, saying for example"transferring songs, 200/1000 Metallica - Master of Puppets, etc.", and it transfers all the songs, no error messages or anything (takes the normal time too, about 15 mins.
Then, when I try to find the songs on my iPod, they are not there.
So, then I restored the iPod to factory settings, and now I have NO (0) songs on it, even though I've tried to sync it many many times.
On the iPod tab, where it shows the bar with all the stuff on your iPod, it even says "5Gt video, 5Gt music" etc..
Oh, and if I try to sync the songs for the second or third time, after restoring, instead of saying:"5Gt video, 5Gt music" etc, the bar just says "10Gt OTHER".
Any help would be appriciated, I'm getting pretty frustrated over here...

  • Certain tracks won't sync between iTunes library and iPhone

I have tried repeatedly to get an audio book I've uploaded to iTunes from CD to synch to my iPhone.  It only transfers one disc, despite me putting all of them into a Books playlist. The sych just ignores the content!
    Any clues, anyone?

Realised I had an iTunes update waiting to be installed (11.1.3 (8)). Installed. Synced iPhone, still no luck. Went into Photos section and unchecked "All photos..." and checked "Selected albums" then checked all albums (including new ones that wouldn't sync) and they ended up getting synced. All is well.

  • HT1386 iPhone won't sync with iTunes. It says iTunes can not add songs to iPhone because no songs in iTunes library can be copied to iPhone. Help!!!! What should I do

iPhone won't sync with iTunes and It says iTunes can not add songs to iPhone because no songs in iTunes library can be copied to iPhone. Help!!!! What should I do. I tried everything!
I need to add my music to my iPhone from iTunes but its not working!

First off try and go into your IPhone manually through My Computer and cut photos or anything you can through the device to be able to free space up so that you can continue to do what you want to do with ITunes. This way you will be able to create a backup or do what you have to do to manage your information, photos and texts on your device a little better.

  • Certain songs won't transfer to iPod

Ok, this is bugging the crap outta me.
A few days ago, my iPod Classic kinda went on the fritz. For some reason, the sound became all distorted. So I tried restoring it. That didn't fix the problem. In fact, it made things worse, because after I restored it, it wouldn't update properly. Certain songs wouldn't go, and a message would pop up that said "Attempting to copy to the disk failed. The disk could not be read from or written to." I assumed there was something wrong with my iPod, because there had already been something wrong with it. Which there was, and now it's like dead completely.
Anyway, that's not the extremely troubling part, because I had to get that iPod fixed anyway.
The really troubling part is that my dad gave me his old 4GB iPod Nano (3rd generation) to use because he just bought a new iPod Classic. So I try to put my music on this one, and guess what... same thing happens. I erase and restore it, and when I try to put my music on it, there's certain songs that won't go, and that message pops up. No matter how many times I try to put it on, it's just those certain songs that won't go. And I cannot find ANY connection between the songs that lets me know what the problem is. The files are connected just fine, the songs seem completely random... I can't find any common thing between them... bitrate, encoding, length... nothing. And there's nothing distinguishing most of them from the songs that transfer just fine. They're all MP3s. They all play just fine in iTunes, but won't transfer to the iPod.
I'm getting the feeling there's some kind of bug with iTunes 8, because that's the only thing I can think of that changed recently that might be causing this.
Anybody have any answers? I'm desperate.

I've been having the same problem recently- after we downloaded Itunes 8, around the same time we got the new Leopard software, most songs won't sync to my Ipod 3rd gen. And, of course, most of those songs are my favorites.
Have you gotten the answer to this??

  • ITunes "can't find" certain songs when I sync my phone

When I sync my iPhone with iTunes, I get an error message saying that certain songs cannot be synced because they cannot be found, and yet, there they are on my phone! I've tried deleting the songs from my iTunes library, and then adding them back in, to no avail. There is a check box that tells iTunes to stop showing the error, but I'd rather solve the problem than pretend there isn't one. Besides, what if, at some time, there really is a problem that I want called to my attention? My phone is an iPhone 4s, and I'm running the latest version of iTunes on my Windows 7 computer, but this happened even with my old iPhone 3 and on previous versions of iTunes. It's not such a tremendous problem as to have a significant negative impact the life of an average person, but I've tried for years to figure this out on my own, and I've got nothing! I've even gone through my library line by line (this is in excess of 500 songs), looking for those little exclamation points that say there's a problem. I can safely say that I have none of those.

I subsequently answered this issue for myself, and now I feel a little foolish. In my case, it turned out to have nothing to do with the songs themselves, but with ringtones I'd created from those songs. When I looked under "Tones", I saw the exclamation points all over the place, and multiple copies of the "problem" ringtones (probably due to my repeated downloading of them). Now, I put all of the ringtones I created in a single folder in the music library of my computer and so, should iTunes have this issue again, I'll know just where to tell it to look.
By the way, if anybody doesn't know how, and is interested in making their own ringtones, I learned here: http://osxdaily.com/2010/09/04/make-free-iphone-ringtones-in-itunes-10/
