What, if any, is advantage of buying new G5 at an Apple store?
...rather than saving hundreds through a mail-order superstore? I don't need any bundled software.

Well the Mac Pro is not a G5. Apple has changed from using the PowerPC to using Intel chips. The G5 was a PowerPC chip. Since they are no longer using the PowerPC, Apple has dropped Power from the name of all of there Macs now.
I would suggest you buy your computer where you feel you are getting the best deal. If you feel that MacMall will give you a better deal then the Apple Store by all means buy it there. That is the was free enterprise works. We can't force you to buy at a particular place.

Return policy may be different from Apple's vs Best Buy. Regardless of crowds, only buy from Apple. Dealing with Best Buy in the future, if there's a problem it may not be worth what you believe to be a $40 savings.

You can if you do not live in Florida, apparently. I called this morning to add AppleCare+ and after giving my info (explaining that the Apple Store is 50 miles (at least) from me, I was going strong until she realized that I live in Florida. Apparently, some moron in the FL State Legislature got a bill passed to "protect" senior citizens and you can't buy things like AppleCare+ online or over the phone!! You have to do it in person. Seriously?!? I'm a senior citizen and I knew exactly what I was trying to buy.........she even had to read the description even though I told her I knew all about AppleCare+. As my husband said, "If you're smart enough to go online and pre-order, and set up an iPad, surely you are capable of making a warranty purchase!!!!!!
I even tried calling the Verizon store here, since I bought a VZ version, and even they can't sell it!! Going to Orlando from the beach during Spring Break and Snowbird Season will take up most of a day.......all to spend $99. I may just skip it and keep my fingers crossed that I never need it in a year from now. -
BUying the phone form the Apple store vs the phone store
Is there any advantage to buying the phone from the Apple store vs the ATT people? I found with my Treo the ATT folks don't know much about it and also didn't offer any insurance for it either!
There used to be a huge difference. AT&T would let you order, while would make you come and stand in line. With the 3GS, Apple allowed pre-orders.
Now, there is no difference. If you are the only person on your account, it is pretty simple to set it up. If you have multiple cell phones on your accounts, it may be better to let ATT set it up to handle the complexity. (But either way, you can call AT&T 1-800 number to resolve any issues.)

Legality aside (I'm not a lawyer and have no opinion on the matter) in order to make a purchase of an iPhone 5 you would need to travel to a country where they are for sale and purchase it there. Be sure to get one that is officially unlocked or you would not be able to use it with your cell carrier. Be sure that your carrier supports use of the iPhone before you buy. Also note that the warranty of the iPhone is only valid in the country of purchase.
Appe does not ship outside of the countries where it sells the phones. -
I have an iMac 8.1, OSX 10.6.8, Boot Camp 3.2 running Windows XP. My original keyboard (MB110LL/A) was damaged by a water spill. I ordered a new one from the Apple Store. They sent me MB110LL/B, function keys need updated drivers (Boot Camp 3.3) which will only install if Windows 7 is installed. I have a large amount of older software that runs under XP but not Windows 7. The Apple support team basically said "too bad". If they replace a keboard model with a new model, they should at least make it backwards compatable or provide a Boot Camp update that will allow this model to work on older iMacs. Reloading Bootcamp 3.3 several times has no effect because it does not detect Windows 7. Any Ideas or help would be appreciated.

MS Security Essentials will no longer install due to compatibiliity issues - that is the idea of a beta - and the RC could be out in June.
Windows 7 doesn't work great on any Mac, or Apple drivers, fan cvontrol to manage heat, and other issues.
Put 8 in and get to know it, then when the RC comes out you'll be ready -

If you don't have the Apple ID and password, how did you get Mountain Liomn in the first place? Without the Apple ID and password, you'll need to buy it to download it.

I am a resident of Ecuador with an ecuadorian credit card.I used to buy applications from the us apple store and updated them whenever updates were available with no problem at all. Since approximately a month,I am not able to purchase any new applicaton or update the old ones.Apple send me back to the ecauadorian apple store were there are almost no applications and where I can not even update the ones I have.
How can I solve this problem.? Before I was able too purchase applications anywhere in the world.This is absurd.

It doesn't matter what it is in your backup that's causing the problem because you can not selectively restore things from your backup. It's all or nothing.

You would need to talk to the Apple Store from which you purchased the iPad. Apple's official return policy is 14 days, though it's been reported that the manager of some Apple Stores have been waiving that limit.
I doubt very much that the Apple Store will have anyone who speaks Chinese, though of course you can ask.

Apple has a battery replacement program for some devices sold between Dec 12 and Jan 13.

Besides, go to any App Store and ask them to run ADR test for your device and will see the battery life. If it seems fail or consumed then you should replace the battery. If seems pass, then restore your device if you think battery drains too fast.
