What if I put my ipod in the freezer?

My ipod has terrible skipping probs on video. It skips about half way through then goes to the end. What should I do?

If Your iPod Is Skipping throught The Songs. Try Resetting It Once In a While. To Do: Click and Hold Down The Menu+Select Buttons For at least 6secs Or Until the APPLE Logo Appears on The iPod's Screan.
Also, If the Problem Still Occurs, Try Restoring Your iPod.

Hi is there any software that allows you to see what is playing on your ipod that is docked in the ipod hi-fi. can you change the songs from my mac.

You can connect your Mac with an airport express (wireless) and then plug the airport express with your iPod HiFi (either optical or analogue). You can play the music from the iTunes with your Mac (without using the iPod).

Put Your Harddrive in the Freezer ?

I have a 6 months old external LaCie Porsche drive that won't mount. I've tried Disk Utility / Warrior without luck.
I've heard some rumors about putting drives in the freezer for 24 hours, then miraculously starting them up and getting the data off of them before they 'unfreeze' and stop working.
Any success with this ? If i try this am I harming any future potential for data recovery ?
Any help, alterate ideas, experience with freezers very welcome !

OK, that is very important information.
Neither of those programs can fix a FAT32 drive, as far as I know. But there are programs that can.
Can you give us some history behind the appearance of this failure? What preceded it?
What data is on it, and what computer did it come from?
I'd also add that the freezer fix is totally inappropriate at this stage. Normal recovery techniques with different tools still look possible. Perhaps DataRescueII, or by hooking up to a PC with recovery software. (The PC route should only be attempted by someone experienced with data recovery.)

You probably damaged the iPod, but try the usual steps: restart, reset, restore.

What's wrong with my iPod. The battery is on the fritz!

I have an iPod Mini 2nd gen
I'm not really sure how to describe what my iPod's doing, so I'll just describe what today was like. The iPod was fully charged when I left for school this morning, but died after 3 minutes of listening to an audiobook. I tried to turn it back on a few times, but it died quickly. Often, I would turn it on and leave it in the menu for 20 seconds until the battery life went from empty to about 2/3 (I've no idea why). The battery would die again when I started to play music. Once, instead of dying, it started playing the song very choppy and slow. I had to hard-reset to get out of it. Eventually, I turned it on and was able to listen to some songs (I've no idea why), but when I tried the audiobook it said "low battery" again and turned off. I think it worked again on my way back from class.
I was home for 2 hours (did not charge the ipod) and had similar problems and couldn't get the iPod to stay on for anything (except the brick game for some reason). After 4 hours of classes, I turned it on for my journey home and it showed a little battery instead of empty (before it jumped up to 2/3 like it always does). I was able to listen to the audiobook for 15 minutes. It died as I chose the next part for the book, very similar to how it would normally die a few seconds into the audiobook.
Obviously, my battery went from not working to working to not working to working again...I think. So what's going on? Do I need a new battery or is my ipod just no longer understanding how much battery it has?

Crikey! It may have been a quick error on the logic board - If it was reading incorrectly it wont increase without being charged. I am really surprised that your battery is still going after 6 years! I'd think about replacing soon. What sort of life are you getting from it?

What has happened to my iPOD after the latest Apple update

Not sure if it is connected but my 80GByte iPOD was fine until i compelted the latest update to OSX on my MAC PRO, now I am having problems syncing the iPOD and all the artwork on the ipod does not display correctly for each track

An update on my problem
I have restored the iPOD to it's origianl settings I am still expierencing issues.
I normally set up the iPOD to sync only selected items, this works for a while then I will get an error message ....XYZ iPOD cannot be sync'd unknown error -48.......
After this error I notice that the parameters for sync have changed to Manually control sync ... and Disk mode is selected.
Not sure what is going on here but it looks depressingly bleak........

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
Go to the dock manufacturer's support site and se if they have any suggestion or if a firmware update is available for the dock

Hi washed my ipod (accidentally, of course) and I let it dry for almost 3 weeks... AND IT STILL WORKS!!! The secret? LET IT DRY!!!! do NOT try to turn it on... If you try to turn it on right away, you will burn the circuits and your iPod will be ruined! I just hope this is usefull to someone, Good Luck!!!

You can probably wait a couple of weeks to see if it drys up.. I don't think Apple can repare if for free but you can send it in and they will fix it for you but you will get a big fat bill!!! lol
