This is an iPad as opposed to iPod forum, and you would probably get more immediate help there.....though having said that, I would begin with this kb

Why does my iPod Touch have a white screen and how do I get rid of it?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my daughter locked herself from her ipod with a passcode she forgot ?  how do we reset the ipod?

    From another post by Philly_phan:
Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."

  • Can't remember iCloud password and don't have access to that email how do I reset it?

How can I reset my iCloud email and password without losing all my apps and tunes. Thanks matty.

  • My ipod doesnt have the capacity its supposed to

i just bought a red ipod nano of 8 gb, wich is supposed to hold 2,000 songs, and i can only store 790!!! what can i do besides changing it?
    nano red   Windows XP

The advertised song capacity of any of the iPods is a calculation based on 4 minute songs encoded in AAC format at a bit rate of 128 kbps. Longer songs and songs encoded at a higher bitrate or in uncompressed formats take up more space. If for example you imported full size, uncompressed CD files (AIFF format) you would get significantly few on. What format are the songs you have imported? Go to iTunes and right click on one of your songs, choose Get Info>Summary and look at "Kind" to see what format you are using: iTunes: About import settings and hard disk space
If you have imported uncompressed files they can be converted in iTunes, have a read of these articles:

  • My ipod doesnt have headphones in but it says it is and i cant hear anything ive tried everything but nothing works help!!

My ipod says theres headphones in but there isnt ive tried everything but nothing works help!!!

    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

If not under warranty Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.

  • What does IE for Mac have that Safari doesn't?

    Hi, folks.
The administrative website of my company doesn't work in Safari. That's a fact.
I've always accepted the idea that it would not work in Safari because it uses windows-only technology. BUT, the fact is that it works in Internet Explorer for Mac.
Since IE for Mac stopped in version 5, the sites gets very ugly (trucated text, out-of-size windows, giant bars), ugly but still functional.
So, if it works in IE for Mac, it seems for me that the site doesn't require Windows, but something found in IE that Safari doesn't have.
Does anyone know what this could be?
    Thanks in advance.
    JP

Without a URL to the pages we're all guessing.
Web pages are not designed for OS's and those that work for Windows should also work on Macs.
But many functions of Web design is optimized for specific browsers and, since IE for PC's is still about 75%, it seems it gets the most attention.
Since most Windows browsers do not play by the "rules" set forth in Web standards those old, poorly coded, pages do not render as designed when viewed in a browser that does follow industry standards.
Update your page code and it will work in any browser.

As the person before me said, you will need a third party converter for your video. I had the same problem when I got my ipod with the audio not playing or only audio etc.
I would recommend the Super converter from www.erightsoft.com
when converting to ipod format remember to have it set to video coded as mpeg4, otherwise it dosen't work.
    Hope this helps

  • My ipod doesnt have any music on it i think the data is currupted

when i plug it into my computer on itunes the gb is still the same but it isnt classified as music instead it says "other" on the bottem. can someone pleese help becuase i delete the music of my computer once i put it on my ipod . thanks

    Hi.
You've got a tricky situation here.
As a general rule, never delete something off your computer once it's on your iPod. That makes it tricky to get back.
    Here's what I recommend:
Go to this link (apple) and see if you can find a utility that will transfer files form your iPod to your computer.
If that doesn't work, you can try connecting the iPod to iTunes and, in the summary page, checking Manually Manage Media or something to that effect.
Then, click the triangle next to your iPod in the iTunes source list.
Try to find the files from there, and drag them to your library.
If that doesn't work, try taking it to Apple.
    Good luck!
    -Nate
