And if that does happen will all my pictures stil be there?
Also i'm not on a apple computer.

    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Either a PC or Mac work the same.
The photos in our iPod's Camera Roll album will be restored as will the last 30 days of photos in our PhotoStream album

  • My ipod touch is showing a white screen and is not turning off how do i fix this?

my ipod touch is showing a white screen and it is not turning off at all. can you help me please !

First, try to Reset your device:
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first).

  • My ipod touch won't connect to itunes and its says "unknown device."

My ipod touch is doing what I said already but its doing alot of other things too.. I noticed earlier today that it would bounce back and forth between the old formats of ipod touches when it is the newest generation out and it would go back to the original format. Now it won't even turn on or light up to show the lock screen like it done earlier when it had the brightness off completely and only be seen in a certain spot in external light of my surroundings. When I got home to plug it in, I was going to restart it and wipe it clean but then all of the sudden it wouldn't be read on ITunes or even my computer that would repeat "uknown device." over and over again every time I try to plug it in. I done this to my laptop and PC but I would get the same result every time.
What on earth should I do?? I already done troubleshooting and it didn't do anything at all but only did a small glimce of hope of showing up when i turned off the computer and back on. Shortly after that it would go back to being unreadable. I tried turning it on when I plugged it in too but it still wouldn't do anything but stay black.
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP! I don't know if I should go to an Apple to to fix it or do any other home methods.

  • My ipod touch say cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the library but I have 10 gb of space left

My ipod touch shows 10.1 gb of memory, but when I try to transfer a movie from my computer to ipod touch I get a error message that says "Cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the itunes library, additional 5.81 gb required.
I have had as many as 3-4 movies on here plus my music and had no problem, there are no other movies on my ipod.  Wasssup???  I am 66 years old, can build a house or a car engine, but for the life of me I don't understand this stuff....Help!!

Unless the move is about 16 GB, you are trying to sync more that the movie to your iPod. I would look carefull at awhat is checked to sync to the iPod.
Also how big is the "other" category as shown in the colored bargraph in iTunes?

  • My iPod touch says Disabled: Connect to iTunes, and everytime I try it doesn't work. How do I fix this?

I changed my password, and without knowing it, I typed the wrong numbers, and now I don't know my password. I've tried to connect to iTunes, but it doesn't seem to work. It only brings up the USB cable needs to be connected to iTunes on my iPod screen. Does anyone know how to fix this, because it's frustrating.
    Thanks!!

    - Have you tried anther cable and charging soruce?
    - Have you connected the iPod to yur computer?  If iTunes sees the iPod, restore the iPod via iTunes-
    - Next see if see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iPod Touch (newest generation) won't sync and is not being recognized by my computer OR iTunes. It WILL charge through the wall charger. It is now stuck on a screen directing me to connect to iTunes. What can I do?

I have restarted, reset, erased all data and network settings, tried different ports and different cords, restarted computers, reinstalled and updated iTunes... and now I cannot use my iPod at all. It is less than 6 months old, Apple won't help me on the phone unless I pay, and the nearest apple store is 2 hours away.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it  says place the iPod in recoverymode use one of these programs.

    If necessary:

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPod Touch 4G cannot be turned on and is not recognized.

Okay, so, this is a long story, but I registered on this forum just to share it with someone, see if anyone had a similar problem.
A month or two ago, the home button on my iPod Touch 4G broke. Okay. So I started using that assistive touch feature. The one with the home button on the screen. Well, that's the background of this story. Let's get into the real meat.
This morning, there I am, waiting to get into class, watching a documentary on my iPod Touch. I grab my two-year old charging cable, plug it up on the PC I always use in class and move it around- it's so old, it needs to be at that right spot to charge up. Well, it starts charging, but once I unplug it and plug it again... something weird happens. With the PC. It gives me a "USB Device not recognized" error.
I thought the cable had finally gone pfft. Not a problem, I had a newer, better one back home. So I go back to watching my documentary- the device is working fine- and when it comes time to class, I press the lock button and put it back on my backpack. Fast forward five-six hours. Lunch time. I pull out my iPod Touch, press the lock button and... nothing.
Black screen. Nothing happens. No sound, no video. Okay, weird. I press the lock button again and again, and still, nothing happens. Maybe I need to turn it on? I hold onto the lock button, but it doesn't turn on or off. Maybe it needs to charge? I borrow a friend's cable, plug it up to a wall charger- the one from Apple- and... nothing happens. I take that cable, plug it up to a PC, and nothing happens. Except for the "USB Device not Recognized" error.
So that's where I am. I can't go to DFU mode cause my home button's borked up. Charging, pressing the lock button, reinstalling iTunes, nothing works. It just sits there. But I know it's not bricked up, because when I plug it up, it gives me that "USB Device not recognized" error.
I'm probably taking it to technical assistance tomorrow, but I'd at least like to hear if anyone had the same problem. All my stuff's there: my Things app with my homework stuff, my TV Show Tracker app, and while I did back app data to the iCloud, I'm not sure I can just put that data on my brother's iPod Touch. Help?
