What if the computer isn't part of a domain??

Anyone know if you can get around entering a fully qualified hostname
(hostname.sub-domain.domain)? I am setting up a development environment and
the computer is part of an internal LAN with just a hostname/IP.
Ideally I would just specify its IP address or hostname and that would be it
but it forces you to enter at least a domain.

You can set a local domain name in the etc/hosts file and also
do: domainname <domain>

I have music in my iTunes library that won't transfer to my iPod. I restored the iPod, I get an message stating 29 things can't be copied because the computer isn't authorized. I deauthorized and reauthorized the computer but they still don't copy

I recently purchased some music. Then I realized that I hadn't heard some other music for a long time. I checked the iPod and the music isn't there. On my PC in the iTunes library it is there but it won't copy to the iPod. I went to my local Apple store and talked to a genius. No luck. He restored the iPod, we deauthorized my computer. When I got home I reauthorized the computer and again restored the iPod. 29 things can't be copied to the iPod because it says the computer isn't authorized. The computer is authorized.
At one time I purchased music through iTunes but used my AOL sign in, instead of my Apple ID. I think this is where the problem is.
Does anybody know how I can get my purchased music back on my iPod?

Even though it says 4 GB RAM recommended, I think most experience users woild say 8 GB and up is the real minimum.

Improperly seating memory is the curse of everyone, even experts. No one wants to "break" the memory or the slot by pushing too hard.
So, try again. Push maybe *just a twinge* harder to seat the memory (just a twinge).
As to speed ... memory mainly lets you keep more things active concurrently. Unless you were severely overtaxing your old memory and causing huge "Page Out" counts, only faster HD makes huge speed increases.

Think you got to reboot or relaunch iTunes after the Authorization.

I just had to install a new hard drive, windows 7,itunes and outlooks 2010 on laptop and want to import contacts, calendars and photos. it seems sync wants to wipe out my phone with whats on the computer unidirectionally. whats the fix?

Hi guys newbie here. My HP laptop crashed and i had to install a new hard drive, windows 7, outlook, itunes, etc. i need to get my contacts, calendars and photos off the phone and into Outlook and My Pictures. Syncing seems unidirectional PC -> iphone and i think wants to wipe out the iphone 4s with whats on the laptop - which is nothing. Need help to do this right...

-Me again - it also won't upload the few new pictures I have on the computer onto the iPad without deleting all the photos that are already there....

ITunes 9 is saying the computer isn't authorized to play purchased tracks

I installed iTunes 9 this evening, and now i can't play the tracks i purchased from iTunes on my laptop because the computer is apparently not authorized to play them but the thing is i purchased these tracks on the laptop so why is this happening? It's also treating the iPod Touch as a new iPod when i have over 1400 songs on there. The thing is i bought them last year when i had internet on my laptop but i no longer have it on there so it's become a problem authorizing the computer (again)as you need the internet. How can i solve this problem? Is there some way of authorizing the music without accessing the internet, or can i authorize my laptop's music through using Windows iTunes? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
I had this same problem. I just rolled the dice and went to Store -> Deauthorize to deauthorize the computer and then immediately authorized it. Seemed to fix the problem.
On a side note, I'm apparently at 5 computers now. Does anyone know how to deauthorize old computers you don't have access to anymore?

I just bought an album and there's one song on it that iTunes says the computer isn't authorized for. When I try to authorize it, it says it's already authorized. Suggestions?

I tried getting rid of the SC folder and deauthorizing the computer. Any other ideas?

N200 the computer isn't logging off

My computer has major shutdown problems. When I try and shut it down the logging off screen just stays forever or until I shut it down manuali (press the power button for 5 sec) Then it has problems re-booting, but after several tries it opens Vista. But then it chokes on the sidebar and I always have to shut that program down and I can't even run task manager.
I've tried to run it in safe mode but that doesn't work.
Im running Vista Ultimate on a Lenovo N200.I have service pack 1.
Can anyone help, please.
