What in the hell are all these friend requests?

So about a week ago, I was getting friend requests from FirstName LastName, and was just deleting them. Now, ONLY LAST NIGHT, I have had 16 more requests. What the hell is this and apart from manually deleting ONE INDIVIDUAL REQUEST AT A TIME for the rest of my life, how do I stop it?
Cheers,
Marc

  • What's the difference between all these web ide versions?

    Hi guys,
I'm an sap internal employee. I want use web ide for developing UI5 application. But as always, SAP delivers a tool with various versions.
What the hell is the difference between the following web ide versions?
    https://webide-xxxxxxsapdev.dispatcher.neo.ondemand.com/index.html
    https://webide-xxxxxxtrial.dispatcher.hanatrial.ondemand.com/
    https://rde-fiori.dispatcher.neo.ondemand.com/index.html
I once saw one of my colleagues using some kind of drag and drop functionality building a xml view user interface.
But I cannot find that feature in all the above ides.

The first one & the last one are in the neo landscape which is only available internally. I guess the last one might be deprecated as the name rde is changed to webide long ago.
The one in the hanatrial landscape is the public developers version available.
Drag & drop - There is a layout editor available to design the views. You just have to right click on your XML view & choose open with layout editor. I believe that should be avail in all those webide's.

  • What is the deal with all these relocated channels?

Get them off my menu already!!  Anyone else's guide have this?  When i am scrolling through my menu i have to browse through hundreds of channels with an "x" in front of them, saying the yhave been relocated...ok so then i'll figure out where they are myself.  Is there anyway to get all these "dead" channels of my guide? ITS SO ANNOYING

I don't think I could stand it if I didn't use the Favorites, there are just so many channels that I have no interest in. I have probably removed 200+ channels so that I never see them. I just never use the full Guide at all, it took a few days to get in the habit but I would never go back (Unless Verizon adds the ability to remove channels from the full Guide).
Customize your Favorites and then just never use the Guide button, use the Favorites button instead, you won't regret it.

  • Where the hell are all the products available to me as a member?

What is the link to the page with ALL the applications to download?

And what exactly is your problem? If apps are not available it means that your system does not meet the requirements. There is no way to circumvent them or enforce anything. Verify the Tech Specs on the product pages.

  • Where in the HELL are Vista drivers? THAT WO

It's been a year since the last release of an audigy driver for vista 32 bit. And it barely works. What in the hell are you doing creative? way to send people away from your products. Can we get some drivers? it's been an f'ing year, and they don't even work with SP.

There was nothing in any SP notes that indicated a change to the audio subsystem. I checked as I installed SP. I think they are understaffed for programmers. They have somewhat of a release schedule but "they have so many products" that it seems they will never get the sound working. They said that Vista's tighter audio tolerances exposed some low level driver bugs. Maybe old improperly written code that is hard for new programmers who haven't worked on the code base to decipher. Either way you think by now they would of fixed it. Really sounds like disorganized and bad management. - My opinion.

  • Iphotos Package Contents: What are all these folders for? Is it too large to back up in the cloud?

Dear experts,  I am quite a newbie when it comes to understanding the Mac filing system, as I originally came from the PC world.  There's lots of things I dont understand in the iMac file viewer and how to organise and backup my photos is an important issue for me.
I know that if I want to look at the original photo files on my iMac, I can right-click on users/myname/pictures and select "Show Package Contents".
Question 1 - What are all these folders for?
Please can someone explain what is the difference between all the folders I see?  Some of them seem to be exact duplicates of the others e.g. Masters, Modified and Originals all seem to have the same content.  So here is a list of folders that I see.  What is in them?, or what is their purpose?
    Data
    Data.noindex
    Modified
    Originals
    Apple TV Photo Cache
    Attachments
    Auto Import
    Backup
    Caches
    Contents
    Database
    iLifeShared
    iPod Photo Cache
    Masters
    Previews
    ProjectCache
    Thumbnails
    Question 2 - Which photo folder should I back-up?
If I want to keep a physical backup of my photos, which of the above folders should I copy to an external hard drive?  (I use Get Backup to automatically  copy all important new or changed files to an external drive)
Question 3 - Using the cloud: What is the best way to backup my large photo library in the cloud safely?
I would like to have some kind of safe backup in the cloud for my photos.  However the size of the iphoto library is huge at 165GB.  Even the Masters folder is huge.  It is 130GB.  Is it possible to back up files of this size in the cloud?  I have a couple of services called photo streaming and Dropbox, but they don't seem to be able to handle this kind of size.  Photo streaming only works with 1000 photos (as far as I can tell), and my Dropbox probably has a limit too.  I guess it's about 5GB.  I am already using about 3GB of my Dropbox space for other files.  I would consider both paid and free solutions.
Many thanks to all the experts for your help!

know that if I want to look at the original photo files on my iMac, I can right-click on users/myname/pictures and select "Show Package Contents".
Don't do that. That's like opening the hood of your car and trying to figure out what all the different bits and peices are and which you can yank out and dispose of. Simply, there are no user-serviceable parts in here.
    So, your Question 2:
You back up the iPhoto Library as a single unit.
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store
    Your question 3:
There is no good back up to the Cloud. There are a couple of reasons for this. One is that the datasets are so large and the cloud services shapre their download speeds. This means restoring can take days to complete. Then, and this is the big problem, the iPhoto Library needs to sit on a disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Bluntly, no servers online are formatted appropriately, and if the Library is written to - by an incremental back up, for instance - there is a very high likelihood that the library will be corrupted.
    Your Question 1:
The Library you're describing there sounds like one that has been updated a few times. Not everything you list there is a folder. Some will be aliases.
    The Data folders hold thumbnails.
The Masters and Originals folders hold the files as imported from the camera
The Previews hold the versions of the edited photos that are accessed via the Sharing mechanism.
I think if you look losely that you'll notice that one of the Data folders and one of either the Masters or the Originals folders is actually an alias.
Everything else is a database or cache file of some form. All are required for iPhoto to work.

  • What is the definition of "All Projects" in P6 EPPM for the Team Usage Charts?

In P6 Professional 8.3, there is a User Preference setting which can be used to define "All Projects" for the Resource Usage Profile. The choices are: All Open, All Closed except What-if, All Closed with Leveling Priority over x. In P6 EPPM 8.3, there are My Preferences settings. In these settings, I see several choices which are also in the P6 Professional User Preferences, but I do not see a way to set the definition of "All Projects". Does this mean that EPPM uses the SAME settings as selected in P6 Professional or does it mean that "All Projects" is not configurable in P6 EPPM? If it is not configurable in P6 EPPM, what is the definition of "All Projects" in P6 EPPM?

  • What is the actual cost of these plans?

What is the actual cost of these plans?
    * $59.99 a month for 450 minutes
    * $79.99 a month for 900 minutes
    * $99.99 a month for 1,350 minutes
Although they will very, Answers welcome from anyone in the USA. So I can have and idea of the cost with taxes and fees. I am located in both LA and NYC. I currently have a NYC number with Verizion using the 450 minutes plan. The plan cost $39.99 before taxes and fees and $48.42 after taxes and fees.
    Breakdown of Monthly Access Charges:
    450 minute plan: $39.99
Verizon Wireless' Surcharges and Other Charges & Credits: $3.31
Taxes, Governmental Surcharges & Fees: $5.12
    Total Current Charges: *$48.42*

My plan total is $84.99/month, then with taxes and fees it comes to $93.40 each month as the total bill. The biggest fee is the state sales tax, at just over $5 on my last bill. Then the 911 fees, fed regulatory fees, and all that are a few bucks each.
    My plan -
    450 Minute (required) $39.99
    Unlimited Data (required) $30
    1500 Text msgs (optional) $15
    Total = $84.99

  • HUGE VIDEO PROBLEM!  The colors are all wrong!  Quicktime Gamma Bug!

I'm on a Mac, and there is a huge problem with video.  When you view or playback videos, the color is all wrong!  It's desaturated and faded.  If you import your videos into premiere or playback through vlc, then everything looks correct. If you play them back or edit them in lightroom, the colors are all wrong.
Nice try Adobe, but you failed.

Ok, but we'll need more details.
Your OS version, how you calibrate your monitor, whether you see the same playing through Quicktime standalone on your Mac, what camera the videos came from, whether they've been edited in other software, etc.
This is a beta so there will be bugs - that information could help narrow down and fix issues such as these.

  • What is the hold up on these Drive

Hey Guys, I think I never would do this to Creative, but I think they should get all the bashing they deserve. What is the hold up on these Drivers for Vista. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and I don't see any progress on this sound card drivers at all. Why are they taking so long. Vista is already out and Creative is still using the beta drivers. I am really getting pissed of at Creative. I am planning to build a new system this year and I am going to think twice before I put in a another Creative Product in my system. If they can't provide drivers on time, then I don't see why I need to continue to buy their products. This is just my opinion. P.S. Fusion (Pissed?Of Guy)?

Your complaint has been noted, but we've already discussed this. Look at the official threads for statements from Cat.
In the meantime, no posting threads encouraging anyone to bash anyone else, thank you.

  • What's the possible purpose of these large audio formats?

I am learning more about how much data is actually necessary for high fidelity audio. As far as I can see, the highest quality data files able to be worked with and exported from Adobe Audition (CS6) are WAV-PCM and BWF-PCM files as described below:
    Format: Wave PCM (*.wav, *.bwf)
    Sample Type: 192000 Hz, 32-bit
    Bitrate: 24576 kbps
Format Settings: Wave Uncompressed, 64-bit Floating Point (IEEE)
    Markers and other metadata included
Large estimated file sizes, such as 6 min = 1 GB for stereo audio
    Multichannel audio available
44.1kHz at 192kbps (generally 16-bit) is usually the maximum level of audible fidelity. I prefer a minimum of 256kbps and 24-bit (32-bit if possible). What's the purpose of such large and complex audio file formats?

Forget about the bit rates - they're irrelevant. You don't need to sample any faster than 44.1k because that rate will let you include all of the information present in the signal, up to about 22kHz. That's several kHz further than any adult hearing extends. Your ears have a dynamic range that is potentially greater than a 16-bit signal's, but not in one go. If you start at 0dB (using this as the hearing threshold), then at about +85dB the Acoustic Reflex mechanism kicks in, and progressively shuts down the sensitivity, but this allows you to hear sounds with higher levels without damage. But it desensitises you at lower levels when this happens, so the 96dB on offer from a linear 16-bit system is more than adequate - as has been extensively proven by research.
The point of greater bit depths has nothing to do with hearing, but everything to do with processing. If you use the 32-bit Floating Point system you can manipulate levels up and down, and even save the results inbetween, without loss. This won't work with an integer based system - you lose resolution at the point you save if you attenuate your signal. With the Floating Point system, you can whack it up and down without loss, because the changes are stored in the scaling bits, and the actual (24-bit) data is unchanged.
The history of all these extended formats is a bit murky, and based on a lot of misinformation spread by people who should have known better, but didn't. There was at one stage a technically sound reason why some higher sample rate recordings sounded 'better' - this being the dodgy brick-wall filters that were being used creating large phase errors in the audible frequency range. But now that oversampling is the norm, 44.1k systems work absolutely fine, as they should do, and there's absolutely no justification whatsoever for massively high sample rates unless you're recording bats. There is no meaningful musical harmonic content that extends beyond about 14kHz, and if you include a lot of harmonic content at higher levels, a lot of listeners find it quite disturbing.

  • Who are all these "users" in my Netinfo Manager file, local?

I am looking at my MAC's Utilities file: Netinfo Manager, local @ localhost, users. Who are all these "users" such as "nobody" , "unknown", "tokend" etc. ? I understand that I should NOT remove things from this file, but what SHOULD be listed in this file? Where do these "users" come from? Could some "users" have been placed there maliciously?

There can be several user accounts that are not associated to someone logging in. The default accounts built in to the system are daemon, nobody, root, unknown, and www, and there can be others depending on what is running on your system (some background processes run as a "user") - for example, appserver, windowserver, securityagent, mysql, jabber, clamxav, etc. You can check the property values of the user (for example, "realname") to get more information.
