  • Tell us here what changes you want to see in the SpeedGrade forum.

Welcome to the new SpeedGrade user-to-user forum.
We're just getting started here, so there are very likely things that we'll need to add or change to make this forum as useful as it can be for you. Let us know what changes you'd like to see.
Content from the previous IRIDAS SpeedGrade forum has not been ported to this new forum.
If there is content from that forum that you would like to see made available, let us know, and we'll see what we can do.

I think we need subsections for the "old" legacy products, pretty much like the old forum was organized.
I understand that this forum is now the official end user forum, right?
We are also interested in seeing a beta forum as well (as we currently see it with other Adobe apps) so we can participate there as well. Please take notice
I am sure that is a LOT of useful information in the old forums. Maybe there is a way of having that old content get consolidated in terms of digest PDF for "new" users to use search within. I don't think it makes a lot of sense to let one dig through thousands of text entries manually to find the useful information, especially as much of this changed over time as "work in progress". Tipps from 2 years ago may be completely useless now with newer tools, and so on. So I vote for pumping out the old content into a PDF or something, so we have that all "at hand". Honestly, as we long term users didn't know of the deal before it happened, all that information was apparently gone before we could "safe it" for our own purposes. Thats what I am looking for right now.
That PDF could be linked in a sticky closed thread like "IRIDAS User Forum content until September 2011" or similar. Just an idea.
    Good luck with the forum!
    Cheers,
    Axel

  • How do you specify what format you want the song to download in?

How do you specify what format you want the song to download in?

In preferences set up your import settings, then right click on the tracks you need in a different format and use Create < Format> Version. New copies will be created in the target format.

  • I am a new user of iTunes and want to download music.   The instructions are:  1. Find the item you want  2. Click the button to download.   My problem is that I can not find a download button - what does it look like please?

I am a new uses of iTunes and want to download music.   The instructions say:
    1.  Find the item you want
    2.  Click the button to download
My problem is that I can't find a download button to click.   Where does it appear please?

Thank you a million times over.   I've literally spent hours trying to solve this and I think those responsible for compiling the 'Help' notes for iTunes would be well advised to make this point clear in the downloading instructions.

  • You want to downgrade because the new updates won't work? Read this.

First of all, I'm not any kind of techie person, I just have gone through this horrible experience of not being able to get into the itunes store at all after downloading the last 2 updates (7.4.2.4 and 7.4.3.1). Once I downgraded to 7.3.2.6 I was back in the itunes store downloading whatever I wanted. But, it was not all fun & games - the library file wouldn't work with the older version of itunes, and I lost all my playlists and had to reimport all my music. The second time I downgraded I did figure out how to save the playlists, but I still haven't figured out how to restore the itunes library file. If anyone has ideas about that feel free to post here.
I consider this a last resort if you really need to get into the store. Hopefully you have already tried other suggestions in other forums. If you do decide to try this, you should read everything first to see what you're getting into. Also, if you just bought a new ipod, it probably won't work with the older version. You should keep calling the apple support phone #.
The process isn't that much harder than installing an new version, although you need to uninstall 7.4.x first. *If you decide to try this I highly suggest you do a backup to disk first just in case.* Uninstalling itunes doesn't delete any of your music files, but it never hurts to have a backup. Go to File>Backup to disc.
By the way, this is assuming you're on Windows XP.
    First get ready:
    1. Go to File>Export Library. Save this file somewhere in your My Documents Folder, not the iTunes folder.
    2. Export each playlist you have individually by right clicking on the playlist and selecting Export songlist. Save these text files in the same folder as #1.
    3. Now, download the version of iTunes you want from oldapps.com/itunes.htm. I used 7.3.2 and it worked fine.
    4. While that's downloading start uninstalling iTunes under Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs. Remove Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, iTunes and QuickTime. Don't restart until all 4 are removed. (Optional, also run CCleaner - click the 'issues' button. This gets rid of a lot of little files that don't get removed in this process, but it's a little intimidating if you're not a techie person.)
    5. Now restart. After you're back up, click on the iTunes setup file you just downloaded. After it installs, when you open iTunes the first time, you'll probably see this error: "The file 'iTunes Library.itl' cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." When you click ok the box closes & iTunes doesn't open.
Go into your iTunes folder (usually in your My Music folder) and remove this file - it will show up as iTunes Library.itl or maybe just iTunes Library. You could just delete it because you already have a backup from step #1. The other file, also called iTunes Library, is an .xml file that you can delete if you want.
    6. Open iTunes - it will look totally blank w/ no files. Don't panic! Go to File>Import and try to import the library you made way back in step #1. I'm sorry to say it might not work. If it doesn't, the next thing to try is to import an older version of the library file, which will be in the "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder inside the iTunes folder. This also didn't work for me. So....
    7. If you couldn't get the library file to open, you need to add your music back in. I just went to File>Add Folder to Library and added my My Music folder. You could also try doing it from backup discs but that takes a long time; in either case, if you have a lot of music this will take awhile. Just let iTunes do it's thing.
    8. Now you can go to File>Import and select the playlists you created in step #1. This did work for me when I went from 7.4.3.1 back to 7.3.2.6.
You should be good to go! I hope this helps some people. If you have any questions you can post them, but I can't promise that I will have answers.
    meeshala

Hi - it sounds like you still need to move the library file, which is in step 5 of my original post; this is assuming you exported your library before you went back to 7.3 - if you didn't do that, don't delete anything yet - just try moving the itunes library.itl file onto your desktop:
"Go into your iTunes folder (usually in your My Music folder) and remove this file - it will show up as iTunes Library.itl or maybe just iTunes Library. You could just delete it because you already have a backup from step #1. The other file, also called iTunes Library, is an .xml file that you can delete if you want (actually, just leave the .xml file where it is).
"6. Open iTunes - it will look totally blank w/ no files. Don't panic! Go to File>Import and try to import the library you made way back in step #1."
Since I wrote that I've gone back and forth a couple of times, and importing the backup library file should work. If for some reason you didn't export your library, you can try importing the iTunes Music Library.xml file in your iTunes folder. It takes a really long time but this does also work.
If you were having the same 11333 error that I was, I was finally able to get into the iTunes store with 7.4.3 after installing certificate revocations lists as described on this page: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306628
I think that's helped a lot of people - have you tried that? Of course, to do that you would have to reinstall the newer version to try it.
Please post again if you are still having problems with the library, but I think you should be ok!

  • IE9, Win7: How to get rid of "What do you want to do with ...doc? Open, Save, Save as

My web application downloads a .doc file.  With IE9 and Windows 7 it displays the dialog "What do you want to do with xxxx.doc? Open, Save, Save as"  Prior to IE9 I could check the box that said "remember" but with IE9 I do not see a way to prevent
the dialog from occurring every time.  How can I turn off this dialog like I can in all prior versions of IE?  I have looked through the forums and the answer might be here but most threads seem to be a little different problem.  Some of my
customers are switching to FireFox and Chrome because of this problem so I would like to find a solution.  I found another thread that had a potential solution (1. Click Tools - Internet Options - Security Tab. 2. Click Local intranet, click Sites, uncheck
"Automatically detect intranet network" if you checked it. Then check "Include all network paths (UNCs)".  Click Advanced, add the intranet to the zone. Then Close and OK.) but that did not solve my problem.

    Hi,
Based my research, due to increasing in security, we cannot disable Download Manager of Internet Explorer 9 from changing settings, editing registry keys or editing settings in Group Policy. This can prevent websites downloading automatically. Instead, we can
    set default download location.
    For reference:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/ieitprocurrentver/thread/21798a87-8c04-4995-a988-ed9275062f82
And for more detailed information, please refer to
Safer and Faster Downloads in IE9.
    Hope this helps.

  • What do you do when iTunes provides the wrong album art?

What do you do when iTunes downloads the wrong album art? I haven't found an easy way to override this or notify the iTunes store about it.
I have gone in and deleted, and re-updated the artwork. I have also gone song by song and looked to see if more than one piece of artwork is associated. Neither fix this.
Specific current example is the Amon Tobin album "Chaos Theory". The artwork was correct on this until just recently. Currently the artwork downloaded is for the Chaos Theory Remix album (for both the original album, and the remix album).
Who controls this? The content publisher (e.g.-Ninja tunes)?
    Thanks

Go into the track ot tracks en block and get info. Go to the artwork tab and delete the downloaded artwork. Google to find alternative artwork and then add it to the track(s).

Disable Javascript for those webpages.  Note, your Javascript is probably antiquated by now.  Try a different web browser, or contact the website and let them know they aren't as accessible as they could be*:

What do you do when iTunes says the required disk cannot be found?

Quit iTunes, restart your iPad, restart your computer and then try again.
If you have another USB to dock connector cable - use that one when you try again. Use another USB port on the computer as well.

wouldnt it be so neat if when sending emails to multiple contacts that you could place a check mark beside the names you want to include in the email instead of having to go back and search through contact list to add each recipiant?

    Hey docasman,
    Welcome to the support forums!
The error you are seeing is normal, all it means is that the list will be truncated meaning you will not be able to see the full list of people in the CC field but you can add more and it will send the message to all of them.

  • Deep-dive on the #RetroThinkPad - what do you want under the hood?

Your say is needed, more than ever. Let us know what you want.

I don't know that there is a "better" place to post this question since you seem to be wide open to possibilities. I think an iMac would be a good choice. It already is a CD/DVD player & you can access internet radio through iTunes. For over-the-air (OTA) radio you could get the Griffin Radio Shark. For OTA TV, Elgato gets high praise. Formac also has some options, but they tend to be more expensive.

  • What do you want from the next version of CS review?

The concept for CS review is awesome and the current functionality looks to be a solid foundation ready for growth. I'm hoping that the product catches on and continues to mature at a decent pace. Are there other features that you would need in order for you to rely on it as part of your everyday workflow?
Here's a few feature requests from my wishlist. Please feel free to add your own.
    Ability to download a review
My clients typically want to "walk designs around" to the execs in the early stages of a product and then embed examples into larger documents toward the later phases of the project.
    Visual overview
I find myself getting lost in larger presentations. "was that example on page 7, 8 or 9 of the review?" I'd love to see a thumbnail overview (the ability to mouseover a thumbnail and see comments would be very useful as well). I currently use "print summary" on workspaces and folders very often in conceptshare to get a birds eye view of everything.
    Long term organization?
With no ability to version or archive reviews, what happens after using CS live for a year or more with multiple clients on multiple projects? only time will tell how big of an issue this is.

Cheaper HD films as £4.99 is a RIP off and also more HD content.
For £4.99 I'd expect to be able to save it and watch it when I wanted. The idea of paying that much and only being able to watch it during a 24 hour window is crazy......
Also, while I can understand why BT would make a charge for recent HD films I can't understand why there is no free HD content i.e. TV programmes (which would have been available free via an aerial if you lived in the right area and had an HD tuner....) and older films. And maybe this should be a concession offered by BT while they are faffing around decding what is or isn't happening regarding the Freeview HD BT Vision box.....

  • I downloaded lion no problem, installed no problem , but what if you want re install osx leopard , will you have to pay for it again, i can't find the download

How can you recover the download

Nobody is answering - I think you meant "How can I recover/save/reinstall Lion" if I need to.
Couple things: always keep backups, and include a bootable (clone) backup.
There are articles on Lion Recovery and to install Lion to another drive; to save the installer; to burn a DVD with Lion; and, to maintain and keep Snow Leopard (OP said Leo but I would HOPE everyone knew their intended OS was SL and not just plain olde 10.5 Leo). You had to have SL DVD to even buy Lion.
How to create an OS X Lion installation disc MacFixIt
How to keep Snow Leopard when upgrading to Lion
OS X Lion Install to Different Drive
Upgrading to Mac OS X Lion Protocol
Using Cloning as a Backup Strategy
So backup. Then you can either upgrade, or do a clean install too (and make sure to save the Lion DMG before you do the Install w/ restart as it will get deleted and removed from your system unfortunately - wish like iTunes it would ask "Do you want to save to DVD now?"

  • XML parsing - Thanks Andrew Clarke, info you wanted to answer

    Andrew ,
First of all thanks for responding. It was indeed very helpful of you.I have put your questions here just and have answered it
" This is a tricky thing to do. Parsing and processing a document in the database is relatively straightforward. Allowing the user to make changes to it is slightly stickier.
Before we can be of any help you need to give us some more info:
Which version of the database are you using? (9i has lots more functionality)
How are you intending to display the information to the user?
Is your user going to be editing the XML tags or just the content?
Are you using XML SCHEMA or DTD?
Do you know there's an XML forum? (Check the jump to any forum drop down)
1)I am using database :- info
    Connected to:
    Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0 - Production
    With the Partitioning option
    JServer Release 8.1.7.0.0 - Production
I hope this information is enough.Another thing i wanted to know is how to check for oracle jvm intallation.Because it is needed for oracle xdk installation.
    2) I intend to parse the xml file stored as a blob object in the backend and display the information in the front end ( Oracle forms6i) interface.
    3) The user sees only the content and can edit only the content ,issuing save command writes back this data into the xml file and saves it back to the database as the blob object.
Yes i know XML discussion forum, but please can you guide me a little in my direction ,i thought it would be more useful to write in this forum (deals with pl/sql).Atleast a lead is enough.
Can you please suggest some help for the questions that i have:-
1)I don't know whether i have oracle JVM installed. The oracle xdk kit install notes say so.So how to check it and get it.Help notes say that a xdk kit for 9i version will also work with 8i version( backward compatibility ).Can you offer some advice on this whether this is possible( The xdkload utility says so.)
2)Is it possible to,after having build a tree thro' parsing process and to go through it accessing the nodes and the values .Also is it possible to write to this tree at the particular point and have the tree saved back to xml document. This will save me a lot of job. Please feel free to help me or atleast suggest some lead points if you know if this can be done.A hyper link ,if you know, which details these steps are also enough.
Regarding the XML schema or DTD ,please give me some more time.
One last question(if i am not bugging you) when the xdkload utility loads the xdk pl/sql package with -dbver to 8i ,will it support all the command in it to be executed on the 8i backend.
    (http://technet.oracle.com/support/tech/xml/xdk_plsql/ softwares section)
Andrew ,i will feel really grateful if you can help me with these issues.Anyway Thanks for taking so much efforts in giving me some tips.
    Regards
    gopal

I hope this information is enough.Another thing i wanted to know is how to check for oracle jvm intallation.Because it is needed for oracle xdk installation. The banner that comes up when you log on shows you that you are running:
JServer Release 8.1.7.0.0 - Production so that means Java is enabled. A good start.
Help notes say that a xdk kit for 9i version will also work with 8i version( backward compatibility ).We are running with XDK 9i in 8173 databases without any major issues. n fact I recommend it, as there are a couple of nasty bugs in the 8i XDK that render it virtually unusable. However there is a whole bunch of functionality in the 9i XDK that relies on the XML datatype that was introduced in the 9i database.
    2) I intend to parse the xml file stored as a blob object in the backend and display the information in the front end ( Oracle forms6i) interface.
    3) The user sees only the content and can edit only the content ,issuing save command writes back this data into the xml file and saves it back to the database as the blob object. Why not store the data in tables? It is much, much easier to build Forms applications using tables than to build them using XML documents. Disassembling XML documents into tables is relatively straightforward and so is re-constituting them if you ever need to show someone the XML. In Oracle 9i r2 this is what Oracle does by default with the XML datatype.
2)Is it possible to,after having build a tree thro' parsing process and to go through it accessing the nodes and the values .You build the tree using xmlparser.parseClob() followed by xmlparser.getDocument().
You walk the DOM using the methods in the XMLDom package to navigate to any given node. Then you use xmldom.getNodeValue(} to retrieve the data in that node. This only works for nodes of type xmldom.text_node, so you'll need to test for that. It also fails if the node has a null value. Finally bear it mind that according to DOM principles the content of a node is a child[i] of that node.
    Given this fragment:
    <employee>
        <empno>1234</empno>
</employee>I want to get the employee number. So:[list]
    [*]I generate a list of empno nodes using node_list := xmldom.getElementsByTagName(x_doc, 'empno');[*]I navigate to the node I want using el := xmldom.item(node_list, 1)};[*]I then navigate to the text using text_node := xmldom.getFirstChild(el);[*]I navigate to the node I want using emp_no := xmldom.getNodeValue(text_node};[list]
There may be whizzier ways of doing it but this way is clear and it works.
Although the documentation that comes with the XDK isn't that bad you will find some additional info in the onlineshttp://technet.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/appdev.920/a96621/adx20ppl.htm#1656. have a look at the domsample.sql script. It's actually quite helpful.
Also is it possible to write to this tree at the particular point and have the tree saved back to xml document.I haven't done this myself, but I would have thought you would write stuff using the method outlined above but using xmldom.setNodeValue. There are various WriteTo... in the xmldom package.
Now for the bad news. None of this works with BLOBs. You have to use CLOBs, VARCHAR2s or external OS files. Sorry.
    Good luck, APC
