What ios will refurbished ipad 2 or 3 ship with?

(I hate ios 6).
so, im c,onsidering getting a refurbished ipad from the apple store online.
Anyone know what ios the following would ship with?
1. Ipad 2 16gb refurbished,
2. ipad 2 64 gb refurbished
3.Ipad 2 16 gb (new, not refurbished)
4. Ipad 3 16 gb refurb
Thinking about replacing my ipad 3 with an ipad 2 if i can get ios 5 working on it.
Will any of these above ship with ios 5 perhaps?
Did they start changing the ipad 2 default ios?
Would make sense since it never really shipped as an ios 6 device?
Also, just throwing it out there although i think i know the answer.
Would i be able to erase my ipad 3rd gen and have it revert to its original opperating system when purchased?

There are was to revert to iOS 5, but they are not covered by warranty, and not supported by Apple at all and as such can't be talked about here.
I'm sure you can find something if you google for "iOS 5 rollback"
As for refuted units, it's standard policy to release any and all units even refurbed nes with the most up t date iOS. So you'll likely not find a refurb with anything other than iOS6 .
Also I would never change a retina iPad 3 for regular iPad 2

None of the iPads come with iOS 6 on them. They all ship with iOS 7. You would have to buy a used iPad that is still running iOS 6, if you can find one.

Can/will my IPad 2 update this summer with the new apple update?

The iPad 2 can be updated to IOS 7.1 now.

TWhy must I erase iOS 4 , (restore) iPads 2 to move forward with updates? I don't understand this. Why such an inconvience?

Because that is how all iOS upgrades are done. The device must first be erased. If you don't like the inconvenience then you are free to do nothing or continue to complain about it. It's your choice.

  • HEY APPLE! What are upgrade policy plans for new systems shipping with 10.4

I just ordered a brand new Xserver, thinking that there would be some policy in place for brand new computers shipping with 10.4, to get the new version of OSX Leopard Server (without having to buy a retail copy) - however to my surprise, there is nothing currently in place.
Will there be an upgrade policy soon for users who have just ordered new computers, currently shipping with 10.4??? Or should we return recently ordered items, and stop ordering new systems until they start shipping with 10.5?

Assumptions such as this one are often a recipe for disappointment and/or for extra expenses; I've certainly learned to be cautious with these.
In this case, there is a policy that has been in place (AFAIK) since the Leopard announcement.
For details on and requirements of the Leopard upgrade policy, do read the [Mac OS X Up To Date|http://www.apple.com/macosx/uptodate> web site.
Those folks outside the Leopard upgrade window that are upgrading to Leopard (and that don't have a separately-purchased Right-to-Upgrade) will be purchasing and ordering the upgrade. You may end up purchasing an iLife upgrade, too — if you're using it, and not already at the current release — as Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server upgrades apparently do not include an iLife upgrade.

  • Since updating to iOS 6, my iPad 2 keeps loosing connection with iTunes. I have tried changing the date, logging out then back in, iTunes is updated.....what's going on???? I can't update any apps nor can I download new ones.....

What's going on with iOS6...... Since I updated to it, I have had nothing but hassles....

Are you losing the connection to iTunes on the iPad or the computer? You are saying that iTunes is updated. Of course iTunes is updated when you update the iOS software. That's a no brainer.
If you mean that iTunes is updated on the computer, that has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with downloading and updating apps on the iPad itself so changing the date on the iPad, signing in and out of the stores on the iPad .... Doing any of that on the iPad would have nothing to do with iTunes on your computer.
If .... you have not been able to connect to the iTunes or app stores at all on the iPad - try this ...
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If you can't connect at all - you can also try rebooting your router. Unplug it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it in again.

  • If I buy an iPod touch 4th 8GB generation today what iOS will it be on?

I'm Planing on buying a iPod touch and I'm wondering if the iPod touch was updated to iOS 6

Likely iOS 6.X. However, it could be earlier since IOS 6 was introduced in October 2012 when the 8 GB 4G was discontinued. It all depends upon when the iPod was assembled.

  • Whats the difference between Garageband, iMovie etc. that ship with Lion and the ones in the Apple Store?

Given that the same version numbers are the same why should I pay another £10.50 for each app when Lion itself only cost £21 and contains iPhoto, IMovie and Garageband?

    Hi,
When you bought your MacBook, it came with an operating system, Snow Leopard, pre-installed.
It also came with some applications, including iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband, pre-installed.
But the iLife applications aren't part of Snow Leopard, or of Lion.
They're separate applications, and Apple gives them to you for free when you buy a new Mac.
If you launch iPhoto, then go to the iPhoto menu and choose "About iPhoto", you can find out what version of iPhoto you're running. You can also check for software updates, and if they are available you will be able to download them.
Your MacBook is very new, and I would be almost certain that the version of iPhoto you're running is the same as the version in the AppleStore.
But if Apple upgraded iLife to a new version (possibly iLife 12) you would have to pay for that if you wanted it.
And if Apple upgraded Lion to a new version (possibly Ocelot ) you would have to pay for that separately. It would not include the iLife applications.

[Peter] : The product key licence sticker should be located on the bottom of your VAIO PC.  User is not required to input their Product key in order to upgrade to Windows 10
[Peter] : In your specific situation, your original OS was Windows 7 then you upgraded to Windows 8.  You will be required to install / Update to Windows 8.1 from the Windows Store.  Microsoft server will then proceed to check your key programatically and identify that this PC can be upgraded to Windows 10 for free therefore the user does not have to input any type of previous product key

  • Where I can enter my serial number and see what LED my laptop was supposed to have shipped with?

I am unsure if I ordered an LG or AUO and want to make sure that I received the right panel or am compensated for it accordingly.

    You can try this: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/ibasepartslookup
It may, or may not, give you enough FRU P/N information to determine the answer to your question.
That said, the program that richk described reads the hardware directly.
    Hope this helps.

  • What will happen on or about May 18 with OSX?

What exactly will happen on or about May 18 with OSX 10.5.8.? I have an early 2008 MacBook and cannot really afford to upgrade. I hope someone can explain what I will or will not be able to do.

    Hi MichelPM:
Thanks for getting back to me.
Here's the story. I added a free art app to my iPhone 5s. Just to play around with. It immediately told me I needed to add Dropbox, which was also free. So I did. It then wanted me to add it to my 2008 MacBook, which I know is just too old to take new stuff. It's too old for new printers and many websites do not allow me to use them because my browser is not updated enough to go there. Some, like Gmail, put up the message but let me use it anyway. I asked a question about this in Dropbox's forum and got the answer that I could add Dropbox to my MacBook, but that 10.5 will not be supported from approx May 18. It made me wonder if it will allow me to use this computer at all after that date. I wanted to know what Apple had to say about this, so I wrote my question. Will I still be able to sign in to email providers, access my photographs, read and create new Word documents, etc.?

  • Will the T-Mobile iPhone 6 work with AT&T LTE?

Will the T-Mobile iPhone 6 work with AT&T LTE? This page seems to indicate it will: http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ But I imagine the phone could be locked to T-Mobile.

What about the contract free one?  It ships with a T-Mobile SIM and is unlocked (e.g. AT&T works with no issues on 4G for me), I'm just unable to get LTE.    I've noticed the "carrier" setting is missing from the Settings menus...however when I navigate to the About screen, it downloads the carrier specific updates, so based upon https://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/ it should work, right?
How do you get AT&T LTE on the contract-free/T-Mobile SKU?
