    When attempting to download a podcast I get an error message "stopped err=404.  How can I find out what err=404 is?

    404 is a http status code meaning it could not find the link, presumably the subscription link is down or has moved.

  • Without any prompt from me, Firefox is continually redirecting itself and displaying a 404 Error message. What can I do to correct this?

    Upon laptop start-up, with Firefox as my web browser, I generally visit news sites beginning with with CNN. Aside from updating Adobe Acrobat Reader to the X version, I have not added anything to my laptop (A Sony Vaio A/W series 64 bit operating with Windows 7) recently, but I am continuously being redirected via the 404 error message without clicking or while reading an article. Firefox has also been crashing daily despite efforts to keep the cache clean and a minimum of programs running during use. I use Norton 360 for antivirus protection and update daily and have not found any bugs to suggest adware or malware. I do have Chrome loaded as a secondary browser, but Firefox has been my browser of choice until recently. Help.

  • Weblogic 10.3.2: Under load, system gives 404 error when accessing page

    Hi all,
    I am running Weblogic 10.3.2 with a J2EE EAR deployed against it. I am using JDBC data sources to connect to an Oracle 11g database. I am running on Linux Red Hat 5. The machine has 16 GB RAM and 16 cores of an Intel Xeon processor.
    I have recorded some Grinder scripts to simulate the HTTP requests going back and forth from the web browser to the app server in an attempt to play them back in volume to do some load testing. I am finding that even under relatively moderate load, after some time (say 30-60 minutes) when trying to access the application in my web browser (and in Grinder), I am getting 404 errors.
    The strange thing is that the app server is still running fine and there are no errors thrown in any Weblogic log file. There is nothing wrong in the verbosegc log file and the CPU usage via "sar" is very low. The number of JDBC connections is well below the threshold for concern. Sometimes, if I wait a while (hours or more), it sometimes comes back up and works fine again, until the next worjload hits it. I have studied thread dumps and see nothing unusual.
    I've been very puzzled with this for days. Does anyone else know what might be wrong or something else I could check to get more information?

    Hi, I have the same kind of problem. but when it happens I noticed strange line in the access.log like these ones :
    access.log00003:192.168.104.198 - - [20/Apr/2012:12:16:45 +0200] "ancelActionID=CCACustomerProfile&contactreasonwrapuplaunchable=true&contactCode=&contactType=&contactInformation=&Customer.CustomerNumber=5146990&processheadertitle=&PageState.CaseNumber=&PageState.CaseReference=&caseId=42ceed6436cbd7c70136cf3ea82c3b4a&" 404 0
    access.log00004:192.168.104.122 - - [20/Apr/2012:14:02:16 +0200] "s-xpsdocument, application/x-ms-xbap, application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, */*" 404 0
    access.log00004:192.168.105.122 - - [20/Apr/2012:14:02:18 +0200] "-ms-xbap, application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, */*" 404 0
    access.log00004:192.168.104.122 - - [20/Apr/2012:14:02:20 +0200] "application/x-ms-application, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/msword, */*" 404 1214
    As you can see, instead of containiing the HTTP action (GET/POST /someurl HTTP/1.1) it contains part of the url or even part of the Accept http header...
    When your 404 happened did you have those strange entries in your access.log ? Did you succeed in resolving it ?

  • 404 Error when opening Web Analysis

    I have just finished setting up a System 9 test environment (my first environment), which includes Reporting and Analysis System 9 release 9.3.1.2.00. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting Web Analysis to open. When I go to the URL (http://localhost:16000/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp), I get the following 404 Error:
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    +10.4.5 404 Not Found+
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    The strange thing is, if I open up Workspace on the same server (http://localhost:19000/workspace/), it comes up just fine. I'm very new to Hyperion System 9, so I'm not even sure where to begin. I've already stopped/restarted all of the services and rebooted the servers. I've also tried re-running the Configuration Utility to re-deploy the application server and re-configure the web server, but that didn't fix it either. And for what it's worth, I've tried using the actual server name in the URL instead of 'localhost' and I get the same error. I also tried launching Web Analysis from Workspace -- same error.
    Can you provide any suggestions on where I can start to look?

    I don't know what the cause of the problem was, but a reinstall of Reporting and Analysis - System 9 UI Services (Web Analysis) fixed it.

  • Can't connect PHP/MySQL 404 error

    Wow, the learning curve is killing me. Yet another challenge. I'm using Dreamweaver CC and this tutorial http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/setup_php.html
    I'm at this step:
    Open comments.php. You must have a PHP page open in the Document window to create a MySQL connection.
    In the Databases panel (choose Window > Databases), click the Plus button on the panel and select MySQL Connection.The MySQL Connection dialog box appears.
    Type connTest as the connection name.
    For the MySQL Server, type localhost.If you are using the MAMP default ports on a Mac, use localhost:8889.
    For the User Name, type phptestuser.
    Type the password you chose for the phptestuser account in the Password field.
    For the Database, type php_test.Note: You don't need to precede the underscore with a backslash here. It was inserted by phpMyAdmin in the previous section (see Figure 20) only because phpMyAdmin uses a query that permits wildcard characters.
    Click Test.Dreamweaver attempts to connect to the database. If the connection fails, do the following:
    Double-check the server name, user name, and password.
    Check the settings for the folder Dreamweaver uses to process dynamic pages (see Specifying a Testing Server for Dreamweaver).
    Verify that the web and MySQL servers are both running.
    Temporarily disable any firewall or security program. If the connection works, you need to configure the security program to permit communication between Dreamweaver and MySQL.
    Click OK. The new connection appears in the Databases panel.
    Expand the connTest connection, and then expand the Tables branch. You'll see the comments table in the database, which you can expand to reveal the details of the table columns (see Figure 23).
    As far as I can tell I have followed this tutorial to the letter.
    As far as I can tell, XAMPP/php mySQL are all running fine, the files are in the correct place and everything should be working. However when I hit test I get a 404 error. (Same error when I hit the select button.)
    The suggested problems on the 404 message are:
    1. There is no testing server running on the server machine.
    Pretty sure the testing server is running. Is there any way to test this, other than to note that xampp is definitely running right now and that I can log into phpMYadmin no problem?
    2. The testing server specified for this site does not map to the http://localhost/php_test/_MMServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php URL Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site.
    Ummm...I'm pretty sure I put things where I was told to put them in the tutorial, but I'm lost at this point where I should verify what. A clue here? The files are where they are supposed to be, but maybe I entered something wrong? Except...I'm not sure what that could be or where to find it. Whatever IT is.
    Everything in local files is looking good.
    Thanks for your help!
    PS: Extra points to anyone who figures out how to make copy/pasteable error messages! These buggers are the bane of my life!

    Bgupta, you rock!
    I hope you have copied the "mysql.php" and "MMHTTPDB.php" files from "C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CC\locale\Configuration\Connections\Scripts\PHP_MySQL\_mmDBScripts" to "C:\xampp\htdocs\phptest\_mmServerScripts"
    This was EXACTLY the problem. I checked the tutorial and I couldn't even find where the tutorial said to do this. (If I missed it, let me know where in the tutorial it was, please.)
    Fixed!

  • How can I set up a custom 404 error page on OSX Server?

    I moved my web site to a local server and changed the structure drastically.  Unfortunately I am getting hits for information that was on the old server which I haven't put back yet.  I'd like to set up a custom 404 Error Page to let people know what's up.  In server.app I can set up a 500 error page but not a 404 and when I tried hand coding it into the sites .conf file I really messed things up.  It took me a while to get that all corrected!
    Thanks for any advice,
    Bill W

    Found it!
    Under the web server Advanced Setting set "Allow overrides using .htaccess" then create an .htaccess file in the root directory with the line:
    ErrorDocument 404 notfounderror.html
    Use whatever HTML/PHP/etc. document you have created.

  • 404 error when hit submit from php file for requested path E:\vise\jqproject\web\errorpages\403_error.htm

    I have a php script that when I hit submit, it submits the form to another php file with a get command.  This worked about a month ago, but this month it's having issues.  This is what the relevant code looks like in the table php file. Running
    table.php shows the table in the browser and has 404 errors when I hit submit.
    table.php:
        <body>

        </table>
          <input id="submit" type="submit" class="list" name="submit" value="Submit To Database" >
           <!--maybe move all php part to other file-->
           </form>
        </body>
    The server is mapped so when we run it off of the server, we use the server ip address and my file name and skip the rest of the path, which works fine with the table.php file, so that mapping appears correct.  When I run it off of the server (from my
    desk) and hit submit it gives me a 404 file or directory not found.  When I run it locally on the server, it's saying it can't find the file name, but it says the requested url is `http://localhost:80/errorpages/403_error.html.`  Physical path: E:\vise\jqproject\web\errorpages\403_error.html.
    The error message says the notification is from the MapRequestHandler of Module IIS Web Core. I'm not sure why the requested url/path isn't referring to visEupload.php.
    (Running on the server) When I change the action in the table.php get to include the IP address, it's behaving weirdly:
    Module IIS Web Core Notification MapRequestHandler Handler PHP53_via_FastCGI, Requested URL `
        http://localhost:80/13.141.xxx.xx/visEupload.php?bandy=xx&bandM=xx&bandc=hj&bandk=xx&comment=xx&submit=submit+to+database
    physical path shows as E:\visE\jqproject\web\13.141.xxx.xx\visEupload.php
    Login Method and user Anonymous.
    When I change the url to just be
        localhost/viseUpload.php
    it's getting HTTP Error 404 not found.  Any ideas why it's not finding the visEupload.php file?  It has the correct .php extension.  In file properties it's a type php file with name visEupload.php.
    I took a look at
    [404 error][1] but I see my "allowUnlisted="true" in applicationHost.config. I'm not using sitefinity, though.
    I'm not sure if something got over-written when we did a server windows update.
    I know we were having a problem with get and post a couple months ago and we had to add them to the IIS Manager Handler Mappings somewhere, but don't remember where we added them to check.  Since I tried directly accessing the visEupload.php without any
    get (and commented out get code in the file) it should have worked if that was the issue.
    We are running server 2008 R2 and I'm not sure which version of IIS it is.
    In case it matters, this is the contents of the visEupload.php:
        <!DOCTYPE html>
        <html lang="en" >
        <head>
        <meta charset="utf-8" />
            <title>Big Table</title>
        </head>
        <body>
        <?php
            require_once( "../classes/class.OLAPdatabase.php");
            require_once( "../common/Session.php");
            $OLAPdb = new OLAPdatabase;
              handling of the get part is commented out
           ?>
        </body>
    All I can think of is that when I access visEupload.php it's running from the get/action in table.php.  This might be a different user running in the system.  I tried changing visEupload.php file properties to have full control for IUSR and Internet
    Guest Account.  It already has full control for System, and me.  Users have read & exeture and read permissions. Or maybe it's something that has to do with how the directory is mapped out.  I'm not sure what could be affecting this, and
    why the message said it can't find the path to 403_error.html.

  • 404 Error Message while running a servlet

    Unable to run Snoop Servlet in JRUN 2.3.3 running on IIS4.0. I give the url
    as http://websitename/servlet/SnoopServlet . But I get HTTP error 404 error.
    I am trying to run the snoop servlet in the jrun/jsm-default/servlet directory. But, I am not able to run the servlets that are in the Servlet directory. It says '404 - Page Not Found Error'. Can anyone help me out what should I change to run the servlet when I type http//websitename/servlet/snoopservlet. Where 'snoopservlet' is the servlet in the servlets directory.

    I have been using JRun 3.1 and the default servlets directory is:
    servers\default\default-app\web-inf\classes
    Try to put your servlets in this folder.

  • 404 error while invoking servlet in weblogic 6.0

              Hi,
              When I try to invoke a servlet from weblogic 6.0, I am getting
              404 error. I have copied the HelloWorldServlet class into defaultWebAppl_Server/WEB_INF/CLASSES
              directory and when I invoke the HelloWorldservlet, its giving file
              not found(404) error. I am doing exactly what has been given in
              the "quick start to servlets" in weblogic 6.0. I am using Windows
              NT.
              I have also another problem when I use java utils.dbping to test
              the connection to my oracle8.1.8, its giving licence file not found.
              Could some one help me out from this.
              Thanks in advance,
              Ramu

              Hi kumar,
              I have been keep trying to solve that. After some time Suddenly
              "Error 404" disappeared and instead "Error 500" came. Okay kumar,
              here is what I am doing...
              I have installed weblogic6.0(eval), oracle 8.1.6 on Windows NT4.0.
              I have installed oracle Enterprise edition from CD "ORACLE 8.1.6
              for NT".
              I installed the weblogic under D: drive.
              I did class path settings as given in documentation. But Iam not
              sure whether I need to do any other class path settings.
              I was able to run pet store application given in weblogic server.
              I went to "quick start" section and ran HelloWorld.jsp page from
              "DefaultWebApp_myServer" directory.
              I was not able to run servlet program as per given in the "quick
              start". I am getting
              "Error 500---Internal server error"
              The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented
              it from fulfilling the request"
              I have modified the web.xml under WEB-INF of DefaultWebApp_myServer
              as per given in the quick start.
              Here is the quick start link For you reference(as what I talking
              about)
              http://edocs.beasys.com/wls/docs60/quickstart/quick_start.html
              In the web.xml, I have given <servlet-class> as just HelloWorldServlet,
              since I directly copied the file from some other examples directory.
              But still I am getting 500 error.
              Here is the url that I am invoking...Http://ramup:7001/quickStartServlet
              Coming to your oracle connection test, I did exactly what you said.
              kumar, I have executed the command
              "D:\bea\wlserver6.0\config\mydomain>java -classpath %classpath%;D:\bea
              utils.dbping ORACLE
              >scott tiger TestDB"
              Where TestDB is the database that I have created while installing,
              but I am not aware of the instance you said.
              Here is what I got after executing the command.
              --------*******-------Pasting the ms-dos command results----**-

              Kumar, I have not seen weblogic.properties file any where in D:\bea
              directory.
              Kumar, if you have some time can you jot down the classpath settings
              and path settings for executing SERVLETS/EJB programs.
              Thanks for helping me out..,

  • I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. Bad job testing the software Apple.

    I updated an iPod touch, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4 to iOS 6, and all of them now will not connect to WiFi. They all give this wierd 404 error page from Apple and insist that I need to login to the network. What's the fix? None of the recommended fixes work in any of these devices. Reset device, reset network, renew lease, etc. None of them work.

    Does the iPod work OK?
    Does it charge when connect to the computer?
    Does it appear in My Computer?
    Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Compare with the iPod that does work/connect.
    I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1

    iPod touch (3rd generation)
    iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
    The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • Google search, youtube, facebook, and yahoo all giving 404 errors 9-9-13

    Today I was having issues with my internet. After calling my provider (Time Warner Cable) and doing the proper troubleshooting it has boiled down to it is a problem with Firefox.
    Whenever I load Firefox, I have it set so the same tabs open each time. Google, Facebook, Youtube, and Yahoo. Normally they would load and I would start my business or what-have-you, but today all are giving 404 errors. I have refresh the page it does not resolve the issue or if I manually type in the page address in, it too, does not load. Facebook will load properly once I type in the website in the bar and load it that way. If I open a new tab and try these websites (Google, Youtube, Yahoo, and Facebook) they all give me the 404 error, but if I click on the Facebook logo in the left hand corner of the page, it will load my news feed. CNN, TWC, and Gmail all load fine and I am able to use the services. Another thing I tried was disconnecting manually from my internet and then reconnecting. I changed my SSI and reset the modem several times still to no avail. If I load Google using my phone, it comes up fine, same as all the other sites listed. I restarted my computer twice (each after both resets of my modem) and I still have this problem. Now the "funny" thing now is that if I load these pages in Internet Explorer, they all load without any 404 errors. I have not tried clearing my cache or history today, and I checked the Firefox website to make sure I have the current version (I normally ALWAYS update my Firefox when it is requested). I don't want to have to uninstall Firefox I JUST got all my bookmarks back from the last uninstall I had to do (accidentally loaded an unwanted toolbar, yuck!) and also this was working fine yesterday and early this morning (2-3am central time)
    ANY information regarding this issue will be welcome! Thanks!

    The 404 or Not Found error message is a HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server, but the server could not find what was requested. How To Fix the 404 Not Found Error
    Retry the web page by pressing F5, clicking the refresh/reload button, or trying the URL from the address bar again.
    The 404 Not Found error might appear for several reasons even though no real issue exists, so sometimes a simple refresh will often load the page you were looking for.
    Check for errors in the URL. Often times the 404 Not Found error appears because the URL was typed wrong or the link that was clicked on points to the wrong URL.
    Move up one directory level at a time in the URL until you find something.
    For example, if www.web.com/a/b/c.htm gave you the 404 Not Found error, move up to www.web.com/a/b/. If you get nothing here (or an error), move up to www.web.com/a/. This should lead you toward what you're looking for or at least confirm that it's no longer available.
    Tip: If you have moved all the way up to the website's homepage, try to run a search for the information you're looking for. If the site doesn't have a search function, try navigating to the page you want using category links to dig deeper into the site.
    Search for the page at a popular search engine. It's possible that you simply have the entirely wrong URL in which case a quick Google or Bing search should get you where you want to go.
    If you do find the page you were after, update your bookmark or favorite to avoid the HTTP 404 error in the future.
    Clear your browser's cache if you have any indication that the 404 Not Found message might just be yours. For example, if you can reach the URL from your phone but not from your tablet, clearing the cache on your tablet's browser might help.
    You might also consider clearing your browser's cookies, or at least the one(s) involved with the website in question, if clearing the cache didn't work.
    Change the DNS servers used by your computer but usually only if an entire website is giving you a 404 error, especially if the website is available to those on other networks (e.g. your mobile phone network or a friend in another city).
    404's on an entire website isn't particularly common unless your ISP or government filters/censors websites. No matter the reason, if it does happen, giving another set of DNS servers a try is a good step to take. See my Public DNS Servers List for some alternatives.
    Finally, if all else fails, contact the website directly. If they've removed the page you're after then the 404 error is completely legitimate and they should be able to tell you that. If they've moved the page, and are generating 404's instead of redirecting visitors to the new page, they might be very happy to hear from you.
    A WHOIS search, using the site's domain name (e.g. weather.com) as your search term, should give you some contact information.
    If the WHOIS search isn't helpful, know that many sites can be reached via email at [email protected], replacing website.com with the real website name. Contacting a site via one of their social networking profiles is another good idea.

  • Cannot Download Desktop Software for PC - 404 Error!

    Hi All - I have tried to use the Feedback option for the Web Admin but my emails keep bouncing because the RIM system seems to think my feedback does not fit via email. So, here is the message I was trying to send in to RIM to help get to the bottom of this. Anyone feel free to pipe up and let me know what is going on or offer some suggestions... I'm totally open to anyone's help at this point. Thanks!

    Can you please let me know if this is a BB RIM website issue?
    FYI – I can get the downloader to start downloading the MAC .dmg file without a problem. Thanks for your help!
    Cheers!

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    Interesting...well, I am downloading it right now with no 404, which would I think rule out a problem at the RIM webisite end. So, the only thing I can think of is that there is something in your internet routing that is somehow blocking it. Maybe you should start over from this point:
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
    I was also going to comment that RIM does not yet support Desktop Software 7.x, but that seems to have changed sometime today!
    Good luck!
