i downloaded a hash app but it came with a .dmg.cc extension. what is the cc suffix?

I found one "dmg.cc" file on cnet downloads. It is litelabel something or other. It is just a poorly made upload file and very unlikely to run on Lion or be worth your time.
That is the problem with Sophos. It slows your machine down and gives you a false sense of security. There never was any malware risk on Macs. The risk of poorly made 3rd party software is much higher. All Mac anti-virus software falls into that category.

The extension is usually .mov, .m4v, or .mp4. But you can't just change the extension. The movies have to be encoded in a particular fomat. Anything downloaded from iTunes or plays in Quicktime player will be fine.

.dmg files are Disk Images. Basically they act like a separate volume on a hard drive. Often when you download an application from the Internet it comes on a disk image file. Once you have run the installer, you can delete them by dragging them to the Trash and emptying the Trash. Another way would be to hold down the control key on your keyboard when you click on the .dmg file and select Move to Trash from the menu that appears. Again you'll want to empty it.

That is a Mac disk image file, it's not for use on Windows. Opening a disk image file on OS X will mount a virtual disk on the Desktop. It's commonly used to deliver software installers for Mac programs. For instance a Mac user downloads and installs iTunes in such a file.

thanks, it's good to get a reply, but why do you keep going on about windows? Agreed, there is no mention that Tremor runs on iOS. So far this is the only reason given that it cannot run on iOS. You can read and I can read.
By putting the question to the community I was hoping for something like: the app you want is here-link, or the app you want cannot be written because technical-reason.
From a words point of view it would seem to be open for any ios developer to support DMG files.

When converting a DVD to another file extension for FCP, what is the best file extension to use? When I was using Adobe products, I would convert the DVD with Stream Clip to an AVI or MPEG and bring it right in. I found these do not work well in FCP. I know I can play it in and make a capture, I was just trying to find what file extension I should use to bring it right into the browser. I receive some DVD's that are quite long and would rather convert them to another extension instead of playing it in to capture.

Changing .dmg file extension doesn't work as expected

Hi everybody,
I wanted to change the file extension of an image of a floppy disk creating using Disk Uitility. The original extension is ".dmg". Changing this extension in the Finder window to ".flp" seems to work --- but only at first sight.
Looking at the directory using Terminal, the image file now has the extension of ".flp.dmg". This is creating a lot of problems, for instance when using VMWare Fusion which does not want to mount disk image files with an extension not equal to ".flp".
How to solve the problem?
Try renaming the file in the Terminal using the command "mv". This really changed the file name. Worked for me!
Question:
Is this a problem of the Finder? (or a feature I don't understand?)

In Finder, first ensure that Show Extension is selected in the Get Info window, then back in Finder, file.dmg can be manually altered to file.flp. A query will arise, "do you want to really change this to .flp?" will be asked and confirm that this is how you want it. Its new extension will remain visible.

What happened to Portal Dreamweaver extension

In my company, we are quite new in using OAS Portal so i did some search about using the css of the new site.
I found something interessant about the possibility of mapping the css with the templates UI in Portal.
But i also saw on forums there are many problems about using the extension with Portal web services, and before continuing my searches, i'm wondering if this technology still exists or have been abandonned :
Indeed, i found no link to the extension download in the new architecture of oracle site.
Where can i find this or recent information on using dreamweaver extension with OAS Portal 10g 10.1.2 ?
And if that possibility is no more available, what is the easyest way to apply my css on the portal (without hand writing the mapping with the UI Templates)

The Dreamweaver Extension to work with Oracle Portal was never a supported extension. It was a prototype that was made available for a short while to allow people to play with. It is no longer available on the OTN site.
The only functionality that the Dreamweaver extension offered was the ability to save the HTML written in Dreamweaver directly into an Unstructured UI Template in Oracle Portal. The UI within Oracle Portal for writing the HTML for an Unstructured User Interface Template is just a text field. This just allowed you to use Dreamweaver to write your HTML.
You can still write your HTML in Dreamweaver, you just need to cut & paste the HTML source into the text field that Unstructured UI templates give you.
No functionality of the Portal is affected by the removal of the Dreamweaver extension.

What is decryptedFile.dmg?

First off, I am a new Mac user, so bear with me. I opened Disk Utility and noticed that a seemingly strange file was showing up. Underneath the name of my hard drive and SuperDrive is "decryptedFile.dmg" and underneath that on a sub-level is "Flash Player." I researched online and found that "decryptedFile.dmg" is a sign of the Flashback trojan, but I've also read that it is a harmless 'leftover' from installing Flash Player. I bought my iMac in July of this year. Can someone please calm my nerves and confirm what this file is and does? Here is a screenshot:

What is Warp Stabilization File Extension

When I archived my project to an external hard drive the warp stablization was no longer applied to the clips, so it appears I will be to restablize all clips. Where are the data for warp stabilization files stored, what is their extension, and can they be archived with a project?

We use this effect all the time and pass the project file to various computers who each have their own separate copy of the media and there are no issues or need to re-analyze the clips. It was my understanding that it's built into the project file like Jim said because when we apply the effect our project size jumps from under 1mb to sometimes 70mb or more...granted we use a couple hundred of these effects per project which brings into play all new issues (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1278013). But yeah, I've never had to restabilize clips when opening the project on a different computer with a different copy of the media, etc.

I just found the same thing on my Mac.
Clean installation of 10.8 as of 3 months ago. 10.8.2 update from just a few days ago. Java is NOT installed. Gatekeeper is enabled and set at default (won't open downloaded applications/packages that aren't signed or from Mac App Store without user interaction).
Current Adobe Flash is installed and is set to auto-update itself.
I ran Apple's official Flashback removal tool here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1517 just in case (the tool is simple, it just runs without notification if everything is OK, and only notifies if it found and removed the Flashback trojan). Nothing was found, and all I did was simply highlight the file in DiskUtility and click the "Eject" button in the menu.
It is highly improbable that the mysterious dmg is a result of a Flashback trojan which is currently physically impossible to have been installed on my machine. Unless it has been greatly modified since it has been blocked and none of the AV companies know about it yet (some of which knew about Flashback before it became a problem for enough users for Apple to release the tool).
Certainly it's something that could maybe possibly happen, but is not likely to be happening right now.
Also, if anyone wants to spend the extra minute or two searching this issue specifically here in the discussion forums (through Google), user dmdimon is in every single one promoting the tool he has linked earlier in this thread, and scaring users with each further post while several others dismiss his claims. Apple has their own official Flashback tool to run that I linked to above. Apple has also released an official patch through Software Update.
